MasukRule #1 of royal life: Never fall for the future king. I broke that rule when I was seventeen. I confessed my love to Prince Alexander Windsor beneath the chandeliers of my birthday ball, and he shattered me with one sentence: "I’ve never seen you that way." Five years later, I’ve escaped to Crownford University in New York to start over as an art student. Then I discover the owner of the penthouse above my suite, the one who kept me awake all night with a blonde in his bed..is none other than Alexander. Older. Colder. Untouchable. And the most famous hockey player in the world. I’m hired to paint the entire hockey team for the championship exhibition. Alexander makes every session impossible. He skips appointments, orders me to the rink at midnight, and poses shirtless like he’s trying to ruin my concentration on purpose. The worst part? I’m starting to think he never forgot me either. Then his younger brother transfers to our university, the scandal photos begin to spread, and the royal family decides I’m a threat to the crown. Now I’m trapped between two princes, a kingdom that wants me gone, and the man who once broke my heart. Alexander says he can’t love me. But if that’s true, why does he look ready to destroy anyone who touches me? •• Pucking The Prince Who Broke My Heart is a steamy royal hockey romance featuring a cold crown prince, a talented artist heroine, second-chance love, obsessive rivalry, forbidden attraction, public scandal, and a love fierce enough to bring a kingdom to its knees.

Distractions~ EVELYN I take a look around the suite CrownFord gave me Apparently, my parents’ influence was enough to secure me a spot in this part of the residence hall. This is my first time in New York, and it excites me. I have my to-do list I had written in Albion, and I'm surely going to make sure I tick every one of them, and the first being: "Active at the Hockey frat party, according to Vivian, it is the hottest party in CrownFord University. "Do you like the Decorations and the colour combinations?" Ms Seth asks, and I nod. The suite was decorated with my favourite colours... burgundy and off-white. "And feel free to let us know if you want a change in your room. This is the penthouse suite B; A is occupied by our famous Hockey star." Ms Seth says, and I nod. CrownFord University, according to my research, is the best for my artistic fantasy. When Ms Seth leaves, I settle down and get everything I'll need for school tomorrow ready. I turned twenty-two last week, and although my parents weren't thrilled about sending me here, I think it is the best decision I've ever made. My phone buzzes, and I pick up the call, grinning when Vivian's call goes through. "Are you settled?" She asks excitedly. "I am. I was given a very spacious room, Vee. You definitely need to come stay the weekend during your shift!" I squeal. Lady Vivian Farrow, a high-born lady in the Kingdom of Albion, is now a cafe worker in the streets of New York. If she hadn't convinced me, I wouldn't be here in New York today. "My parents still think I'm in Florida for the Beaumonts' deal. Imagine what would happen if they find out I'm in New York. I would've loved to come, Eve. But someone might see me and tell them." "Well, it's okay—" "It is? I thought you'd nag me more." I laugh, pushing my box up the bed. I feel good having all this space for myself. "And I forgot to tell you something, Eve. I got an anonymous Intel from CrownFord, and you won't believe who the famous Hockey star is." She says. Huh, uh....is it the same hockey star occupying Penthouse A? "Who is it?" I question, curious about who I would be sharing the same elevator with. "It's...." Her voice cracks, the line glitching. I pull the phone away from my ear and disconnect the call. I dial her again, but it doesn't go through. Seems there's no network... I'll have to call her later. ~•~ I think I know what Vee was going to say. She was going to tell me that whoever the famous Hockey star is, he is nothing but a monster... in bed. I groan, picking up my phone to check the time. It is 02:30 a.m., a time meant for sleeping, but I can't sleep. The headboard upstairs bangs against the wall, startling me once again. The woman moans loudly enough that I wonder if the entire floor can hear her. There is movement, heavy and relentless, followed by breathless laughter and another round of noises that leave absolutely nothing to the imagination. I sit up, closing my ears as another round of breathless moans and whimpers resonates in my room. Do they know that I can hear them? Do they even care? The obscene wet sound of fluid reaches my ears, and she moans again. "You fuck...so well." I am definitely going to bleach my ears come morning. I wait for them to stop; I pray and wait... but they don't stop; rather they noise seems to get louder every damn passing hour. I wait and wait until my alarm rings at six in the morning. I give up on sleep and start getting ready for school. •• Is scandalous and rigorous sex activity not prohibited in school hostels and residence halls? If this is what I'll be facing every night, I might talk to Ms Seth about it. I don't care who the famous Hockey star is. Neither do I care about his post-school activity. But keeping students awake to satisfy your urges is a different thing, though. He could have gotten a hotel and done whatever he wanted. I dial Vee's line again, and it fails to connect, making me scowl. We weren't done with our conversation last night, and not to talk about the horrible network that disconnected the call. She was about to tell me about the famous Hockey star, the jerk who kept me all night because he wanted to get his dick wet. 'I have a lot to tell you about my upstairs neighbour. Call me when you see this.' I hit send as I waited for the elevator to come to a stop. Wait...it was coming down. That means... my upstairs famous rigorous neighbour was going down as well. Rather than speak with Ms Seth, I could speak to him and teach him the importance of Educational grounds. The elevator stops and slides open. A ding on my phone gets my attention, and I smile, seeing a text from Vee as I step into the elevator. "Girl...I have a lot to tell you too. Sorry for what happened last night. I'll be coming to your school this evening, though. Love you." The message read. Didn't she say she wouldn't be able to come here because someone from Albion might recognise her? I was so engrossed in Vee's message that I didn't hear a thing, nor did I feel a finger tapping my arm. Until... "Are you deaf? Dumb? Or just plain ass Ugly, you dumb fuck." The light, pitchy voice was very familiar. Just like the voice I heard all night. I look up, eyes meeting brown, sharp, glaring eyes and a flat nose, paired with plastic curves. "Are you talking to me?" "Who else would I be talking to? If you get into an elevator, you press the floor you get off on, no?" She asks. "I was engrossed in something important, and I totally forgot about that, but calling me a dumb fuck when you're the one with half-baked plastic boobs and ass? Mississippi would weep!" I retort, glaring right back at her. She didn't have to be rude to prove a point. Tears gather in her eyes, and I suddenly feel bad for saying that, until she runs to someone behind me. "Help me, Alex. She insulted me." She cries. I turn to give her a piece of my mind when I see the person behind me. I freeze. Eyes lock on the boy— now a man who... broke my heart years ago. His hands wrap around her, our gaze steady on each other. Crown Prince Alexander Windsor, my greatest regret and my first love. TBCChapter 5 Everything ~EVELYNPain can kill. And I'm not talking about physical pain but emotional pain.I almost died years ago, and when I survived that heart-wrenching moment, I promised myself never to get involved with anything that would put me in that state again. That's why when my father wanted to buy me a beautiful British cat, I declined it.What if it died? Or one day abandon me for someone else?Pets were cute and loving, but they could go and never come back, or they might get hit by a car. I thought of every possible scenario that would make me cry and decided against it."Eat slowly and drink water," Vee says, putting more rice on my plate."Will you tell me why you're in my small apartment? Sulking?""I just felt...disturbed and sad today. Nothing happened; I just felt sad, and I decided to come see you." I say—lie to her face and watch her smile."Eat more; I'll get you more stew. You can eat to your he
Chapter 4 All or nothing~ALEXANDER The moment I taste lilies and daisies, I know it is not Lydia or whoever was sent into this room to play Hockey's fantasy. A stupid game Brian brought up, and we play it every time we win a game.I pull back so fast that my shoulder hits the door behind me.Evelyn stands in front of me, wide-eyed and breathing hard, her lips swollen from my kiss. For a second, I forget how to breathe.Out of every woman in New York, out of every female student in CrownFord, it had to be her.For five years, I have imagined what kissing Evelyn Ashbourne again would feel like.It was never supposed to happen in a dark room at a frat party. While playing a stupid game of push and pull.I should open the door.I should send her downstairs, and I should definitely stop looking at her mouth, but I can't."Is there a problem?" The door opens, and bright light floods the room.Brian steps in, and Steve gasps, and
Chapter 3 Anything ~EVELYN Life is unpredictable. We learn to change with things and things with us, but sometimes, habits don't die. Our body seems to recognise a call before our mind can catch up to it."Yes, it's been five years, Your Grace." I keep my eyes on the wall of the elevator, watching the number rise."Your father never said anything about you transferring to CrownFord when we spoke about political issues on Monday." He continues."My life is not a political issue, Your Grace. That is mainly the reason my father never spoke of it." My father hadn't known about my plans to CrownFord on Monday. I told them everything on Saturday and insisted they let me go; they really didn't have a choice on the matter. And why would he be expecting my father to tell him about my private life?Yes, he's the Crown Prince of the Kingdom, definitely not my life."It's a good thing. Do you still paint, little-dittle dai—""I be
Chapter 2 Not him~EVELYN I lower my gaze to the floor."Your Royal Highness." I bow slightly, feeling my back tighten. This isn't how I planned my morning. And if I had known he would be in CrownFord, I would have never enrolled here.I could learn painting anywhere in the world, but not an inch close to him."Lady Evelyn of Ashbourne. Fancy meeting you here; I didn't know you enrolled in CrownFord." He says."I was enrolled yesterday." "I worry people might think that, just like before, you’ve chased after me across the world." He says, a smile playing on his lips."If you were the last man on earth, I'll happily remain a spinster, Your Grace." I bow once again and step out of the elevator as quickly as I had entered.I take a seat on the couch in the lounge, and I feel my eyes swell. After so many years, he was still hellbent on making me cry.Why would I travel across the world to chase a man I know how unworthy I am t
