Chapter 16: Tough Training

"I will pair you up for this session," Master Li informed the class.

Melissa and Jon were disappointed that they could not spar with each other as they usually did.

Before walking off with their assigned partner, they looked at each other with a tinge of reluctance.

"We will spar after school one day," Melissa assured him as she passed by. She beamed as she reported, "My parents have agreed to let me go out before dinner."

Jon nodded as he walked off with his partner. He was paired with someone who was about his size.

Despite being in the same class, neither of them knew their partner's name.

Master Li blew his whistle before the students were ready for action.

Jon's partner instantly charged head-first toward him. Jon instinctively moved aside then adopted the referee's position.

With knees bent and eyes looking forward, he charged toward his partner and smoothly tackled him.
