Chapter 5

Alessia's POV

"This will be your room, King Elijah." Natalia smiled and promised that she delivered it to the room to be. We are now opposite the bedroom door and neither of us is talking.

I just focused my attention on the design of the door and pretended not to notice. Everyone knows that Natalia likes Elijah so it's not surprising anymore. I'd be even more surprised if Natalia didn't do that personally.

I also don't feel jealous because Elijah doesn't do anything to be jealous. Even if I don't ask anymore, I know that Elijah doesn't like Natalia even if it is said that Elijah wanted to marry Natalia.

I can say that it is a political marriage and not a marriage because of love. In the long time that Elijah lived in the world, it was difficult for him to like a woman. Because if he fell in love, he probably already has a wife—wait, how can I be sure that he never had a wife, if he was alive even before Christ?!

Is it possible that he had a wife? But he has a harem...and that is considered as a wife. I felt like my head was suddenly getting hot again because of my thoughts but I stopped myself from getting angry. He already abolished the harem for me and I should be glad about it instead of getting mad. So instead of being completely angry, I calmed myself down.

"And for you, little Ales, your room will be—"

"She's staying in my room." Elijah coldly interrupted Natalia. Elijah's expression is icy when he looks over at Natalia.

Natalia seemed stoned by what she heard. It stared at Elijah who now seemed to grow two heads.

"Excuse me?" Natalia frowned when she confirmed Elijah.

"Come here," Elijah called me and when I didn't move he reached my hand and grabbed it.

I just sighed because I don't have time for embarrassment. Estrebelle knows that I slept in Elijah's room. Stefano already knows that so I have no right to be ashamed. But will I think more about that now than Natalia's reaction?

"B-but you can't share a room with a commoner, King Elijah!" It's a protest. Disgust was on Natalia's face and she looked at me intently. I'm just really thankful to God because a sharp look doesn't kill me. After all, maybe I'm being slandered now.

I want to speak but I feel I have no right to engage in the king and queen's conversation. Natalia couldn't hide her feelings at the moment so I bowed even more. I hope we don't stop here.

"She's not a commoner. She's my lover. If you will excuse us, Alessia and I will take a rest." Elijah responded coldly to this and then pulled me into the room.

We quickly got in and Elijah immediately closed it. I was holding my senses because of what was happening. Sometimes, I just ask myself why I still like Elijah and why he still likes me. It's tiring that the one you love is like him. A lot of people like it and try to steal it. Natalia is not jealous, but I can't help but have problems because of what she can do to me when her brain is swallowed by jealousy.

I also don't know why some women who know that a man is committed, still pursue it. Don't they know the word respect and distance? Even if it is said that they are better than me because they have a higher position in society, that is not a reason for them not knowing how to respect others who are already in a relationship.

But who am I to say that? What right do I have if I also do not deserve him? I only borrowed her from Ate for a while, so I didn't make any difference to them either. But, is this what they call karma?

"Are we going to get along well here? With Queen Natalia's treatment, it's obvious that she doesn't like me." I pointed at Elijah as I casually checked the surroundings.

The room is nice and big. There is a fireplace chimney there, there is a living room set made of leather and fur. The floor is also carpeted and a large bedroom with four postered drapes and a canopy. The room and the things in it are gray, blue, and black. But mostly, the room is designed for the victorian era. Maybe it's because Natalia is from Europe that the design of the room is like this.

"Sweetheart, I know you're uncomfortable staying here, please do bear with it for a little more, hmm?" Elijah gave me a gentle answer that caused my doubts to disappear. "So let's take a look now for the clue,"  He just took the map inside his clothes. I didn't know he put the map there.

"I forgot about it." I led the way and we approached a desk there and put down the map. I lost my mind that the clue was on the map.

"We had troubles previously and it's understandable." He answered me. "I will show you some little magic." Elijah smiled at me with a promise so I frowned.

I've been exposed to some of his abilities so I don't know what he's referring to with the little magic he's talking about. But before I could ask, Elijah's hand just lit up and suddenly small flames came out of it.

I was amazed because Elijah was not hurt. It seems like it's just a part of his body because of Elijah's normal reaction. His right hand was licked with fire but I did not dare to touch it.

Elijah's hand immediately hovered over the map and another sign began to appear.

The universe holds the sphere, where the ship has sunk in trapped water.

The white crystal tears are in the mouth of Charybdis.

That's what's written on the map. But Elijah and I both frowned. It's easy to understand the words, but it's hard to know what they mean.

"The universe holds the sphere. It means a planet?" Elijah was asked as he stared at each word now marked on the map.

"It's not necessary to be a planet...it could be a shape...sphere is a circle or round object," I answered but I'm not sure about that either because it might have a different meaning.

Elijah nodded. "It makes sense if it's a shape or round object because of the following phrase. Where the ship has sunk in trapped water. It's a water globe. This is a famous craft in Mythion. They usually create a snow globe with miniature objects inside filled with water." Elijah explained to me and I was clear.

I was amazed at how he thought of those things. I didn't even think it could be a water globe.

"How about the Charybdis? What is it?" I just heard this name and I'm not sure if it exists in the mortal world.

"I never heard about it but it could be a titan." He responded to me but something seemed wrong. If Charybdis is a titan, how can the white crystal be in its mouth?

"It seems dangerous if the relic is in the mouth." I will teach you. I'm just thinking about Sudanni and Faris with their monstrous appearance and the relic in their mouth seems like a living tax.

"Hmm. I know, but they could be the same with the two titans who willingly gave the relic." Elijah responded to me while fixing the map to hide it again.

"How about the water globe?" But I still feel that something is wrong. I know that all the information hits a water globe, but I feel like something is wrong again.

I am being restless with this everything seems suspicious.

"There are stores that sell them—"

"But what if the globe was already bought? It couldn't be just a random water globe in the store." I told him that I feel that our problem will only get worse.

Elijah didn't answer right away and frowned as he thought. How can we find something if the possible globe was already bought and we are not even sure if it's still here in Mythion? It's possible that it was already exported and distributed outside Mythion.

"I'll make the Sentinels search for it. This might take longer than we anticipated but we will find it." He answered me that his frown still couldn't be removed.

"They will go store to store?" I asked him. I was thankful in my mind that he had brought so many sentinels.

"Probably and if we cannot find them, I will release an order to bring all snow and water globes owned by immortals." He answered me and held me by my shoulder. "This has been a long day for you sweetheart. Please rest and I will still do some work."

I sighed. I will give my full trust to Elijah in finding the water globe. I'm not sure if I can help, but I'll do what I can.

"I'm not tired yet. I'm going to start designing ski equipment. I'm sure I'll meet the builders tomorrow." I responded to him and walked away from him. I will be on the other end because Elijah will also be working.

Elijah smirked, I don't know why. Whatever is going on in his mind only he knows.

"Sweetheart, I am wondering how did you come up with the idea of skiing. You were not born in the land of winter...so how did you know about it?" He asked out of curiosity. Sometimes, it feels like Elijah is already doubting my identity but he's just letting it go for unknown reasons.

I know that Elijah knows what skiing is all about and he has traveled all over the world to encourage people to become immortal. Somehow, he's similar to those networking men who are best in persuading people to join their cult, I mean their business.

"Books." and television. It is not a secret to his knowledge that I read books from outside Wysteria. I remembered that I had mentioned this to him before. But it's true that I learned that from the book and also watched skiing, especially in the shows.

"I forgot you like readers the books from outside Wysteria." It seemed to remember that I said that. But it sounded more like he was just giving it to me.

"Then I'll start with my work and you do as well," I promised him because I feel like we won't be able to start what we need to do if we both talk.

"Hhmm.." Elijah just responded and sat down in the chair.

I took a piece of paper and drew charcoal. My fingers immediately became dirty as soon as I touched the charcoal-shaped eraser. But I didn't think about it anymore because I wouldn't expect them to have a pencil here.

My hands are fast in drawing shoes made of durable leather and rubber. It needs to be strong because it will be the foundation of the sleigh.

I finished that quickly and immediately followed the sleigh two for both legs. They measure one meter each and curve upwards at the first end. It is made of metal that is smooth to make it more slippery. I quickly drew two canes that would be used for balancing and avoidance.

I will also need a costume design for this but I have drawn too much and my hand is tired. It's not an engineer's job but I can't do anything because Natalia assigned it to me.

I'll be back when we find a good location. I'll do the blueprint for the skiing resort. That takes longer to do and I need tools because I need measurements.

But I know the builders have tools, so maybe I'll just borrow them.

The sleigh and canes already have dimensions, so I've organized the papers so they won't be messy. Both of my hands were dirty so I stood up Elijah didn't notice because he was busy reading and signing. He also always frowned while reading as if he didn't like what he was reading.

I immediately went to the bathroom and washed my hands. I'm not sure if I'll take a shower because I'm still cold. But it was embarrassing for Elijah. I don't want to sleep next to him who doesn't shower. So even though I was heavy inside, I took a shower.

I only took a quick shower because even though the water was hot, I still didn't like showering today. I immediately put on a nightgown and dried my hair.

I finished the shower pale and when I got out the warmth from the fireplace seemed to comfort me. It's a bit cold inside the bathroom because it's not within reach of the fireplace. So I was shaking all over while taking a bath.

"Why did you take a bath? It's cold." Elijah commented to me, now standing up from sitting.

"Habit," I replied that even if it wasn't true. It was embarrassing to sleep next to him and then I didn't take a shower.

"You can just wipe it off. It's not good to bathe here every day because of the cold. You'll get sick like that." Elijah promised me worriedly and caressed my cold cheek.

Is it normal here not to shower every day? But I know that Elijah's reason is right. Mythion is too cold to bathe every day. But my shame, they can't handle it.

"I'll do that next time." I'll just reply even though the truth is that I'm not sure if I can handle not taking a shower every day.

I approached the bed while drying my hair. Elijah's eyes followed me as if studying my movements. I tried to ignore that and just focused my attention on drying my hair.

I don't know how long Elijah was staring at me because when I looked at him, he suddenly looked away and quickly walked into the bathroom. I followed him curiously. I just notice that it always seems to be in a hurry when going to the bathroom. It looks like it has a rival bathroom even though there isn't one.

I just combed my long hair. I don't know why Estrebelle doesn't come. Maybe Elijah ordered it too. Elijah was not used to having servants hovering over him. Ynna, his servant, was being served differently.

I wish there was no servant either, but Estrebelle doesn't want to leave and I'm getting a little used to her always being there to help me.

I lay down on the wide bed but didn't fall asleep right away so I reached for a book there that wasn't too thick. It is entitled Homer's Odyssey. The title of the book is unfamiliar to me but based on its appearance it is not like the books I am used to here at Wysteria. It's a hardbound book with a coat and its title is gold.

I opened it and raised my eyebrows because what was written there was typed. That means this book is from outside of Wysteria.
