Chapter 3

Alessia's POV

"Head builder, everything that needs to be changed is here and listed. I will also talk to the architect who made the design because I will also change something. They will talk to you when the new design is ready." I told the head builder and handed him the paper that listed the things that needed to be changed. I also have a copy because I will revise the floor plan.

The head builder immediately accepted that and looked at it. He was amazed at what he read. It does not think that in a short time, I will see what needs to be changed.

"Everything has a point. I can't believe this much had to be changed and the original floor plan maker didn't even notice it." He promised me and he seemed happy. Maybe it is happy because the mistake will be resolved. "It's funny because it's not easy that every time the doctor visits here, he always complains but doesn't say what needs to be changed."

I smiled. "Maybe he doesn't know what to change either. All he knows is that there is something wrong with the design but he can't identify what. But I'm sure the new design will be good. Send a message to the office if he changes anything. ." I promised him. It's almost afternoon and I have to go home because it's not a good night to go home, especially since the road leading to us is remote and foggy. Even if we say that I have confidence in the place, there are still stray demons there that need to be avoided.

"Alright, we'll let you know the result." The head builder happily promised. He was holding the paper I gave him that seemed very important.

I said goodbye to him because I have nothing to do there. I can't stay there for a long time doing nothing and I also have to start revising so I need to get home. I got into the carriage again but it only stopped at the exit of the town. They know that I live out of town but they don't know where our house is.

They tried to take me home several times but I refused. Ales was the only one who went to the house but that was only once because Lolo got angry when he saw Ales.

That's why Ales didn't even try to come back to our house. Grandpa's reason for being angry is that if many people know the location of our house, the illusion will lose its effectiveness. We will be bare to the monsters and the King.

But to me, it doesn't matter since the King already gave up and he's already married. My feelings are no longer the same too. There are a lot of things that have gone through a change.

So after more than thirty minutes, I was at the exit of the town and the carriage stopped. I immediately went down and faced Topazio.

"Thank you very much Topazio." I smiled thanking him. Because if he didn't drop me off, I would be late, especially since the site is far from the exit.

"Nothing, Miss. Be careful on your way home." He promised me with a smile and drove the carriage back inside the town.

I turned around and started walking. I'm about to enter the thicket and the road there is quite steep because our house is on a hill. But I don't feel tired while walking because of the beauty of the surroundings. Relieves fatigue.

At this time Aiden and Marga are already at home. I have nothing to welcome. Aiden doesn't like to be greeted. He is happier if I come home early because we spend more time together.

While walking, I also tied my long and wavy hair. It was in a messy bun style. because I didn't have a comb with me. But that's fine because no other creature can see it.

I hummed while walking. I got this habit of humming while walking when I am alone. I can also hear birds chirping. The best sound a human can hear is nature itself. Who hates the sound of waves, wind, and chirping sound of birds? Maybe some people hate them but it's rare.

But as I was walking, my fur suddenly stood up because of the fast cold wind that crawled on my back so I quickly faced my back. My back is bare due to the dress' design. But that's not the problem since everyone here in Caracass has a similar style.

An alarm appeared on my face when I saw nothing. But I'm nervous because sometimes, this is how I feel when there's a demon. I feel the surroundings and I feel that the cold is still there on my back even though it is gone.

I waited a few seconds until it reached a minute. No demon came out but I was restless. I can encounter a demon. After all, Eleftheria is just right next to this forested hill. Inevitably, something goes astray.

In case something happens, Sushi will notice it right away. Even if he's miles away, he will appear instantly when I am in danger. Since I didn't see anything, I cautiously turned around again and walked faster. I walked quietly and felt the surroundings.

But I stopped when my hair suddenly stood on end. My whole body trembled. Fear is enveloping my core like something is about to kill me. This familiar feeling is something I will never forget

Demon!

My mind screamed because I was sure of this feeling. But even before it appeared in my sight, a black object suddenly moved quickly from nowhere. The sound of the sword clattered and I heard a hideous growl and it disappeared immediately.

I trembled in fear. Demons are capable of inflicting fear on another. Even if I think they are not scary, my body will automatically feel fear. It's something you cannot escape. That's why it's important to bear in mind that no matter how scared you are, you must fight.

I swallowed. I now saw a black hooded figure that looked like a death reaper standing with his back to me. The demon fell on its feet and now was burned to ashes. The figure is tall with broad shoulders.

I eyed the figure suspiciously. But before I could say anything, it suddenly disappeared from my sight and I don't know where it went. I wasn't able to say something. I wasn't able to say thanks. That creature didn't seem to notice me either.

Maybe, that figure is one of the demon hunters. I never saw a hunter before, but I guess, I just saw one right now. So even though I was scared and surprised, I quickly walked home. I don't want to wait for the chance that another demon will stray here. I walked my way to the hill. The misty air gave me chills.

I took the steps on the stairs that were made of stone. It's a narrow path and just on the top of the hill is our home. The stairs are fenced with bonsai plants. Everywhere is filled with mist. There are yellow light bulbs everywhere. I designed this landscape to my satisfaction.

So when I got home it was brighter there. I entered the house quietly and immediately a familiar argument entered my hearing.

"What you exert is called kinetic energy, Marga," Aiden said in a flat tone. He's sitting on the sofa, while his little legs are swaying.

Marga was holding some toys. It seems like they are playing...more like Marga is trying to make Aiden play.

"Young master, I don't know what Kinetic Energy is. Why do you name my slip?" I heard Marga's answer.

I just shook my head. It is indeed kinetic energy, but Marga doesn't know about it since it is not taught in school here in Wysteria.

"Because falling is an example of kinetic energy. It involves force, motion, and mass to a moving object. When you throw a ball, that's kinetic energy. When you walk or run, it's still kinetic energy." Aiden preaching to Marga. "You should be thankful that I am teaching you these things. It means you will be smarter than those stupid people in town."

"Aiden..." I commented because I couldn't help but answer. I don't want him to insult people just because they lack knowledge. It's not their fault that they don't know these things. "Never look down on people because they don't know things that you do. They only lack education, but they are not stupid." I uttered as I entered the living room.

Aiden was surprised and turned to me. "M-mom..." he muttered. I was not smiling, because I am not happy with what he said. Aiden suddenly ran and immediately hugged my leg. "I'm sorry mommy... I'm sorry." His small voice cracked. He choked his cry.

I quickly picked up Aiden and hugged him. "I love you, Aiden. But I am not happy when you are insulting another person. If you cannot say something nice to the person, it's better not to say anything at all." I promised him. Because I think it would be better if Aiden didn't criticize things like that, especially since it's so frank. He will surely offend people.

"I'll keep it to myself then, mommy." He spoke softly to me and hugged me. "Welcome home, mom." He greeted.

I kissed his cheek and stared at his extremely beautiful face. Years from now, this boy will break a lot of hearts. But I hope no one will break him, since I am no longer by his side to comfort this little man.

"Yes, I am home. Do you have homework?" I asked Aiden and then I walked while he was carrying me towards my room. Even though I know what his answer will be, I'm used to asking Aiden that question.

Marga quietly said goodbye to clean up the toys scattered in the living room.

"I had, mom. But I answered it as soon as the teacher assigned one and I passed it immediately." He answered me.

He's always like this. He doesn't want to bring his homework. He will immediately answer his homework while at school and submit it to his teacher. The teacher cannot even complain about it since they know Aiden is special.

"Alright, if you don't have...I have some. I'll be making some floor plan revisions and you can read the books. Will that be okay?" I asked him.

Aiden nodded. "I like how your formula and computation, mom." He told me that he remembered something.

There was one time that I was making computations when I was working with the canals, dams, and bridges. It needs computation since it involves water. It's just that hydraulics was one of the major subjects of civil engineering way back in college.

"That was Hydraulics. But I will not be doing that right now since it is just a floor plan revision." I replied to Aiden.

"Hydraulics." He uttered without a hint of stuttering. "I saw one in your books, mom. I haven't read it yet. I will read it today." He said with interest sparkling in his eyes.

I am not sure if he will be able to learn it. It's a very advanced scientific formulation. Way more difficult than physics. But I will not stop him. He wants to learn about it.

I held my breath. Sometimes, I forget that Aiden is only three years old because he is too mature to speak. It always feels like I am talking to a person whose age is not far from mine.

"Okay, if you will be able to learn from it, then I'll give you some problems to solve after you finish reading the book," I promised him with a smile.

Aiden's eyes immediately filled with joy and his cheeks reddened.

"I'll do my best, mom." He responded to me and I loved the excitement there. He's a genius.

If the world will know that a three-year-old kid, can solve one of the difficult calculus problems which are Euler Equation (fluid dynamics). The world will be in awe. He was able to answer it, even though the equation was too long.

I got dressed and Aiden and I went together to the study room where the bookshelves were also there. I took my Hydraulics book and gave it to Aiden. He sat on the sofa and I sat opposite my drafting table. I've started revising and Aiden is reading.

The room fell silent and only the scribbles and turning of pages made the noises. Aiden didn't ask me questions, which is normal. I continued my draft until it was already time for dinner.

We temporarily stopped our work to eat. I will pull an all-nighter again tonight. While Aiden will sleep early since kids need sleep to grow fast.

"Can I bring the book tomorrow, mom?" Aiden asked me while we were at the table eating.

I shook my head. "You know why you shouldn't, Aiden."

"I understand." He answered but I know he was disappointed a little. But I don't want anyone else to see my books. This will only raise unnecessary attention from people.

We ate our dinner and Aiden slept early. While I stayed all night to finish the draft so the revision can start as soon as tomorrow.
