“Your mommy's name is Sharena, Selena.”

Deanna remained standing in front of them, even though her knees felt very weak. Besides, what the little girl said was really strange. Why could she easily call a stranger her mommy?

“You've never brought a woman to this house, Daddy. But you brought her.” Selena held Deanna's hand and gripped it tightly. “Don't you want to marry her?”

Meazus' tongue felt numb for a moment. Selena's words were true. Usually, Meazus would bring captives to the base, but he had only brought Deanna into the house. Meazus had brought Deanna home drunk that night, so he didn't remember much after the party.

Initially, Deanna was brought into Zoan's car because Meazus was attending a month-end party hosted by Don Juan. Unfortunately, Zoan had placed the unconscious Deanna in Meazus's car because he was going on a date that night.

Meazus was angry, but since Deanna was still unconscious and wouldn't go anywhere, he chose to attend the party hosted by Don Juan to celebrate the victory of a major tender he had been targeting for years. Meazus couldn't refuse to attend the event because Don Juan was a close business associate of the mafia.

Meazus got drunk at the event and didn't remember anything afterward.

“Daddy won't marry her, Selena. She'll be coming home today.”

Deanna didn't believe those words. Meazus said them to calm his daughter down. Meazus wouldn't really let Deanna go, so she shouldn't be happy when he said those words.

“But why?”

“Isn't all of this part of your birthday present? You want me to let her go, don't you? I'll let her go for you. So she can go home today.”

Selena shook her head because that wasn't what she meant for her birthday present. "I want you to release her bondage and stay here with us. The two of you are a perfect match."

Meazus stood up from the bed and pulled Selena’s hand away from Deanna. “Enough for today, Selena.”

“But I haven’t said anything to her yet, Daddy. I want to play with her, I—”

“You’ll play with her tomorrow. Now get out.”

Selena pouted. “But this is my room.”

Meazus sighed deeply. He was so emotional he couldn't see the situation around him. “Alright, I'll call Nancy here.” Meazus roughly pulled Deanna's wrist to get her out of Selena's room.

A few minutes later, Nancy came into Selena's room and tried to cheer up the little girl by combing her hair.

“Sit down, I have a nice hair clip.” Nancy showed her a pink hair clip with a pony on it while pulling a chair from the dressing table.

Selena sat on the chair and let Nancy comb her hair as usual.

“Daddy has never brought any woman into this house. Now he brings a woman on my birthday. Isn't that a sign, Aunt Nancy?”

The woman who worked as Selena's special caregiver did not respond. None of the staff in the house knew the woman's origins or why she was chained in the basement corridor.

Meazus should have taken the woman to a headquarters, not to the mansion.

“I saw her sleeping in Daddy's bed.”

Nancy combed Selena's hair again in front of the dressing table and asked, “How did you get there? Didn't Mr. Meazus forbid us all from going there?”

Selena pursed her lips. “Daddy's door was open, so I wondered why we weren't allowed to go in there. It turned out that Daddy's room was no different from ours, except for the presence of that woman.”

“Did you talk to her?”

Selena shook her head. "I tried to talk to her, but she didn't answer. The woman just stared at me while crying. I'm sure she was in pain because her hands were tied."

“Then what did you talk about with her in the room earlier?”

“I didn't get a chance to say anything to that woman because Daddy Meazus got angry first and dragged her out of the room.”

Nancy nodded slowly. "Don't get close to that woman. We don't know where she came from. Who knows, she might be a criminal? Her face looks like an angel, but we don't know what her heart is like, right? Who knows, she might be a cruel murderer?"

Selena shook her head to reject Nancy's words. “I'm sure she's a good woman, Auntie.”

***

Meazus brought Deanna into his room. Meazus should have taken the woman to the basement and tied her up again, but there were repairs being done in the basement, so he took Deanna into his room.

“What did you say to Selena?”

Deanna remained silent and refused to look Meazus in the eye. The woman lowered her head, so Meazus had to pull Deanna's hair to make her look up.

“Ouch!” Deanna finally spoke after a long time. “It hurts!”

Meazus pulled Deanna's hair even harder. “Answer my question!”

“I didn't say anything to her!”

The veins in Meazus's hands bulged as he pulled Deanna's long black hair. “You're a liar!”

Deanna closed her eyes as Meazus pulled her hair with all his strength. At the same moment, Deanna fell to the floor unconscious. The woman could no longer stand, even though she had been injected with vitamins.

Meazus looked at Deanna lying near his black loafers and simply walked out of his room.

Actually, Deanna hadn't completely lost consciousness; she could still hear the sound of Meazus's loafers moving away from her position. Deanna cried, but she was completely unable to wipe away the tears that were soaking the floor.

“Help ... Help me,” Deanna thought to herself before she lost consciousness completely.

Deanna felt her life had come to an end here, with no one left to help her. The 24-year-old woman wished time could be turned back, and she would never have met Meazus. She would never have set foot in that lavender-scented room.

Losing both her parents and her boyfriend had already turned Deanna’s world upside down, and now she had to deal with a mafia who had kidnapped her for no apparent reason.

That man might have done something even more brutal than just pulling Deanna’s black hair; he looked like a cold-blooded killer. Meazus might have killed Deanna right then and there, but he didn’t.

He had another purpose. Meazus had another purpose.

Today is Raline and Devon's wedding day. The woman who is about to become a wife is crying in the bridal room. “Ah, why am I crying like this just because I'm thinking about mom? Shouldn't I be happy on my wedding day?”“Are you okay?” asked a makeup artist to Raline. The woman handed her a tissue. “You can gently wipe your tears with this.”Raline took the tissue from the makeup artist and thanked her. "I've ruined my makeup. I'm sorry."“It's okay. I knew this would happen because people are like this. You can wipe your tears with a tapping motion without dragging them. I'm sorry, I have to say this because the event is about to start. I can't redo your makeup in such a short time. So rather than fixing it, it's better to prevent it.”Someone who was Raline's hair stylist felt strange about what the makeup artist said. Since when could a makeup artist act so arbitrarily?Raline, who was still sitting in front of the makeup mirror, nodded. “I know, I'm sorry.”“No, no, no. I don't m

“Next week?” Raline's eyes widened when she heard Devon's words. The man spoke with a serious expression. “You're not joking, are you?”“Why would I joke?”Raline's eyes darted left and right nervously. "You don't know me very well, and vice versa. Neither of us knows how to deal with each other's anger when we argue or other expressions. We also haven't had a deep talk about what has happened in my life so far, and vice versa."“Another month?” Devon offered Raline to extend their wedding deadline. "I think another month is enough to get to know each other's personalities. That's right, isn't it?"Raline finally nodded. “Deal, one more month.”No one objected to their conversation at the table. Everyone seemed to agree that Raline and Devon would get married in a month, even though they thought the sooner the better. “We'll help you prepare everything,” said Deanna, holding Raline's hand to reassure her. “Don't worry.”The woman sitting next to Deanna smiled sweetly. “Thank you, Mrs

Davina felt that Meazus, Deanna, and Jarvis were overreacting just to attend a dinner invitation, but she remained silent and waited for the moment she would never forget.“Am I the only one who thinks they're hiding something?” Davina wondered to herself as some of them kept staring at each other as if giving each other a code. Davina knew nothing about the reason behind this dinner invitation. “Are they planning something?” The dinner was only interrupted by light conversation because some of them remained silent and did not want to join in, such as Devon, Raline, and Malia.Devon looked nervous, Raline looked awkward, while Malia looked neutral. Everyone had their own expressions. The three middle-aged people were no exception, looking very happy. “Maybe I'll propose to Raline after dinner,” Devon said to himself as he raised his right hand above the table to hold his fork, while his other hand remained under the table to hold the red ring box. “I'm really nervous and my brain f

“Where are Mr. Meazus and Deanna?” Raline asked when she ran into Devon near the elevator. It seemed like Raline had just gotten out of the elevator. “They're in the back garden. Why?” "Mr. Jarvis will be here soon, and I have to say goodbye to them. I just came out of Malia's room to say goodbye." “Malia didn't come out of her room? I mean, she didn't want to see you leave the mansion?”Raline shook her head slightly. “She just woke up because she stayed up late last night doing an assignment for her seniors. So she told me she wanted to take a shower first and then come downstairs.”Devon just nodded and turned to walk towards the back garden. He met Deanna and Meazus there and told them that Raline wanted to say goodbye, and that Jarvis would be there too. “Okay.” Raline and Devon sat facing each other on the living room sofa because they were the only two who were ready. Meazus was waiting for Deanna to take a shower because she had just been sweating. Even though it was onl

“No, I mean... I don't think that way. I'm sorry if I came across as—”Deanna chuckled because she had finally managed to tease Raline again. It turned out Davina was right, teasing Raline was really fun. “I'm just kidding, Raline. Come on, let's eat.”Actually, Deanna was right. At first, Raline was very happy to be able to eat at this table, but it turned out that Devon wasn't having dinner with them. But why did Raline suddenly want to see Devon?"Do I miss Devon? No, I can't possibly miss him. Besides, what reason would I have to miss him? No, no, no. That's impossible. Raline spoke to herself and shook her head quickly.“What's wrong, Raline?”Raline's body froze instantly as all eyes turned to her.“Why are you shaking your head, Raline?” asked Deanna after Malia asked the question, but received no answer. “Is the dinner not good? Or is it too salty or—”Malia interrupted Deanna. “No way, Mom. Raline hasn't even put a single spoonful of this food in her mouth.”Raline, feeling c

“Does Devon want to propose to Raline? I once asked Raline about their relationship, but she said they didn't have a relationship.”“Maybe they're both still shy.”"Yeah, I think so too. Do you approve of their relationship?"“I couldn't possibly have a different answer from Raline if I've known Devon for so long, Mr. Meazus.” Jarvis also immediately remembered every facial expression Raline made when he asked her about Devon. So, Jarvis was sure that Raline had special feelings for Devon. “I approve. How about you, Mr. Meazus?”Meazus smiled on the other end of the line and replied, “Of course, I agree too. How about we have dinner together on Saturday night? I'll send you the location, Mr. Jarvis.”“Sure, I'll look forward to it, Mr. Meazus.” Meazus ended the call with Jarvis after they both wanted to end the conversation. The man in the black suit now left the meeting room and walked into a car that was waiting for him in front of the company's main door. The middle-aged man did
