LOGINNancy held Deanna's left shoulder to calm her down. “Shouldn't you check it? Tomorrow I'll go to the market and buy you a test pack. You can check it tomorrow morning, but don't urinate first.”
Deanna just nodded, still unable to believe that she was really pregnant. Was Deanna pregnant? Why did it hurt so much for Deanna?
“I don't want to be pregnant with that man's child. I don't want to!” Deanna screamed in her heart. The woman felt like a rock was hitting her chest when she realized that she had all the symptoms of a pregnant woman.
“Don't be afraid, Deanna. Maybe you're just tired.” Nancy finally left Deanna in the room. “Get a good night's rest, who knows, maybe you're not pregnant after all.”
That night, Deanna couldn't sleep comfortably because she was still overthinking Nancy's words from a few hours ago. The woman couldn't do anything but cry and blame herself for what was happening now.
The next day, Nancy came to Deanna's room after the woman allowed her to enter. The depressed-looking woman took the object from Nancy's hand.
“It's a test pack. You haven't peed this morning, right?” asked Nancy, who had previously warned Deanna. The woman came to Deanna's room at seven in the morning.
“I haven't peed yet.”
“This too.” Nancy handed a small container to Deanna. “Collect your urine in here, then dip the end of the test pack in and wait ten minutes. You'll find out if you're pregnant or not.”
“Can I borrow your cell phone? I want to use the stopwatch so I know if I've dipped the test pack in for ten minutes or not.”
Nancy looked at Deanna for a few seconds with a suspicious expression. “I can't do that. I'll yell when it's been ten minutes. I'll wait in this room until you come out of the bathroom.”
Deanna gave the middle-aged woman a pleading look. “Are you afraid I'll call the police? I won't do that.”
“You will do that. So get in the bathroom and do what I said.”
Deanna sighed softly and entered the bathroom feeling annoyed. She couldn't fool Nancy because the middle-aged woman seemed to have been instructed by Meazus to monitor Deanna's every move.
“Okay, I have to wait ten minutes.” Deanna looked at the end of the test pack that had been dipped into the container of urine. “I pray that the result is negative. I don't want to have a child from that evil man. He might kill my baby and me too.”
Deanna continued to hope that the result of the test pack would be negative, but it turned out to be the opposite.
“Positive?!” Deanna covered her mouth and crouched weakly beside the bathtub, thinking about how her life would be after this. “I'm pregnant. Oh God! I'm pregnant!”
Nancy knocked on the bathroom door because she hadn't heard any sound from inside for more than twenty minutes. “Are you okay, Deanna?”
“I'm fine. I'm okay.”
Deanna opened the bathroom door with her hair slightly disheveled and handed the device to Nancy.
Nancy’s expression changed instantly. “Y-you’re pregnant?”
The woman nodded and quickly grabbed Nancy’s hand. “Can you keep this a secret? I’m begging you.”
“Keep it a secret? Why do you want to keep it a secret?”
“Meazus hates me so much, he must hate the baby in my womb too. So, he will definitely kill us.”
“Don't you want Meazuz to kill you? Why are you afraid of being killed now that you know you're pregnant?”
Deanna touched her still flat stomach. “This child has done nothing wrong. I will survive for this child. So I don't want to die.” Deanna looked at Nancy with a pleading expression. "Don't tell anyone. Let this be our secret."
“Pregnant women need special care. You also need to have an ultrasound to see how the baby is developing, so how long are you going to hide your pregnancy?”
“I don't know. But I want you not to tell anyone in the near future. If it has to come out, let me tell Meazus myself.”
Nancy could only sigh heavily and nod in agreement to Deanna's request. “All right, I'll keep it a secret for now. But sooner or later you have to be honest about your pregnancy. Whether he kills you or not, that's Meazus' decision.”
Deanna walked slowly from the bathroom door to the side of the bed. “When is Meazus coming home?”
“I don't know. We can never guess when Meazus will come home. Why?” asked Nancy, who followed Deanna's footsteps and stood in front of her.
“When he comes home later, I'll tell him I'm pregnant.”
“You won't keep it a secret?”
“No, I'll ask for leniency?”
“Hm?” Nancy sat down next to Deanna. The woman was changing her plans too quickly.
“What kind of leniency?”
“If he doesn't like me and wants to kill me. I'll tell him if I'm pregnant with his baby... I don't know if he'll kill this baby or not, but if he doesn't... can you raise my baby for me?”
Nancy furrowed her eyebrows. “Why do you think that?”
“Meazus wants to kill me. He will kill me when he returns from abroad, I'm sure.”
“I'm sure Alpha Meazuz won't kill you.”
Deanna looked at Nancy, who believed her words wholeheartedly. “I've been working with Meazus for a long time. Selena is not Meazus's biological child,” Nancy continued.
Deanna's eyes widened. “Selena?” "Yes, Selena is Sharena's child with another man. Meazus loved Sharena very much, and when she came to him with a pregnant belly, he helped her. They got married while Sharena was pregnant, and she died after giving birth to Selena. So Selena is not Meazus' biological child. Meazus loved Selena, who was not his own biological child, so why would he want to kill his own biological child?"
Deanna was silent for a moment, then spoke to Nancy. "There is a difference between me and Sharena. Meazuz loved Sharena, so he loved everything about Sharena. But me? Meazuz hated me, and it's possible he hated the baby in my womb too."
“But I'm sure... Meazus might still hate you, but he wouldn't kill his own flesh and blood.”
Today is Raline and Devon's wedding day. The woman who is about to become a wife is crying in the bridal room. “Ah, why am I crying like this just because I'm thinking about mom? Shouldn't I be happy on my wedding day?”“Are you okay?” asked a makeup artist to Raline. The woman handed her a tissue. “You can gently wipe your tears with this.”Raline took the tissue from the makeup artist and thanked her. "I've ruined my makeup. I'm sorry."“It's okay. I knew this would happen because people are like this. You can wipe your tears with a tapping motion without dragging them. I'm sorry, I have to say this because the event is about to start. I can't redo your makeup in such a short time. So rather than fixing it, it's better to prevent it.”Someone who was Raline's hair stylist felt strange about what the makeup artist said. Since when could a makeup artist act so arbitrarily?Raline, who was still sitting in front of the makeup mirror, nodded. “I know, I'm sorry.”“No, no, no. I don't m
“Next week?” Raline's eyes widened when she heard Devon's words. The man spoke with a serious expression. “You're not joking, are you?”“Why would I joke?”Raline's eyes darted left and right nervously. "You don't know me very well, and vice versa. Neither of us knows how to deal with each other's anger when we argue or other expressions. We also haven't had a deep talk about what has happened in my life so far, and vice versa."“Another month?” Devon offered Raline to extend their wedding deadline. "I think another month is enough to get to know each other's personalities. That's right, isn't it?"Raline finally nodded. “Deal, one more month.”No one objected to their conversation at the table. Everyone seemed to agree that Raline and Devon would get married in a month, even though they thought the sooner the better. “We'll help you prepare everything,” said Deanna, holding Raline's hand to reassure her. “Don't worry.”The woman sitting next to Deanna smiled sweetly. “Thank you, Mrs
Davina felt that Meazus, Deanna, and Jarvis were overreacting just to attend a dinner invitation, but she remained silent and waited for the moment she would never forget.“Am I the only one who thinks they're hiding something?” Davina wondered to herself as some of them kept staring at each other as if giving each other a code. Davina knew nothing about the reason behind this dinner invitation. “Are they planning something?” The dinner was only interrupted by light conversation because some of them remained silent and did not want to join in, such as Devon, Raline, and Malia.Devon looked nervous, Raline looked awkward, while Malia looked neutral. Everyone had their own expressions. The three middle-aged people were no exception, looking very happy. “Maybe I'll propose to Raline after dinner,” Devon said to himself as he raised his right hand above the table to hold his fork, while his other hand remained under the table to hold the red ring box. “I'm really nervous and my brain f
“Where are Mr. Meazus and Deanna?” Raline asked when she ran into Devon near the elevator. It seemed like Raline had just gotten out of the elevator. “They're in the back garden. Why?” "Mr. Jarvis will be here soon, and I have to say goodbye to them. I just came out of Malia's room to say goodbye." “Malia didn't come out of her room? I mean, she didn't want to see you leave the mansion?”Raline shook her head slightly. “She just woke up because she stayed up late last night doing an assignment for her seniors. So she told me she wanted to take a shower first and then come downstairs.”Devon just nodded and turned to walk towards the back garden. He met Deanna and Meazus there and told them that Raline wanted to say goodbye, and that Jarvis would be there too. “Okay.” Raline and Devon sat facing each other on the living room sofa because they were the only two who were ready. Meazus was waiting for Deanna to take a shower because she had just been sweating. Even though it was onl
“No, I mean... I don't think that way. I'm sorry if I came across as—”Deanna chuckled because she had finally managed to tease Raline again. It turned out Davina was right, teasing Raline was really fun. “I'm just kidding, Raline. Come on, let's eat.”Actually, Deanna was right. At first, Raline was very happy to be able to eat at this table, but it turned out that Devon wasn't having dinner with them. But why did Raline suddenly want to see Devon?"Do I miss Devon? No, I can't possibly miss him. Besides, what reason would I have to miss him? No, no, no. That's impossible. Raline spoke to herself and shook her head quickly.“What's wrong, Raline?”Raline's body froze instantly as all eyes turned to her.“Why are you shaking your head, Raline?” asked Deanna after Malia asked the question, but received no answer. “Is the dinner not good? Or is it too salty or—”Malia interrupted Deanna. “No way, Mom. Raline hasn't even put a single spoonful of this food in her mouth.”Raline, feeling c
“Does Devon want to propose to Raline? I once asked Raline about their relationship, but she said they didn't have a relationship.”“Maybe they're both still shy.”"Yeah, I think so too. Do you approve of their relationship?"“I couldn't possibly have a different answer from Raline if I've known Devon for so long, Mr. Meazus.” Jarvis also immediately remembered every facial expression Raline made when he asked her about Devon. So, Jarvis was sure that Raline had special feelings for Devon. “I approve. How about you, Mr. Meazus?”Meazus smiled on the other end of the line and replied, “Of course, I agree too. How about we have dinner together on Saturday night? I'll send you the location, Mr. Jarvis.”“Sure, I'll look forward to it, Mr. Meazus.” Meazus ended the call with Jarvis after they both wanted to end the conversation. The man in the black suit now left the meeting room and walked into a car that was waiting for him in front of the company's main door. The middle-aged man did
