The only thing that kept me awake was the dirty water dizzily from the wooden ceiling. The cold was becoming unbearable and there is nothing I could do. My flimsy clothes wouldn't even get my body warm.
I shouldn’t have followed Agnes no matter what she had said.I sat back down, my eyes lurking around the dark hallway, hoping to hear a footstep. But again, there wasn’t anything that I can do to get myself out.Alpha Lance made his decision to keep me here and I am sure the two other Alphas will support him. Birds of the same feathers flock together.I bit my inner lips, as I shiver. The damn place should be warm at least. “Fuck.” I cursed, pushing my fingers into my ginger hair.I had put it up in a ponytail with the help of Agnes and now, I find it very much comfortable. With a swift hand movement, I got the band holding the hair together and threw it across the room. It wouldn’t be of use anymore. If only my father is around, then I wouldn’t have been in this tight situation. Or rather, if I had a wolf then everything would have been alright.Maybe the reason why I ended up with three mates is that I don’t have a wolf. I am no student in the pack conspiracy or theories but something in me tells me that it is because of that.It has to be.My body froze and I shifted back when I heard a faint movement around. The dungeon is big and quiet enough for one to hear movements far away.Although it is a big and general dungeon, most offenders are taken away to the dark room, which I had heard is a bad place to be in. Agnes had been there once when she was caught amongst the kids that stole from the pack farmhouse. She said they were young but Alpha Lance’s father that was the Alpha then didn’t spare them a glance. He said since they could steal then they should also learn to live up to the punishments. If to say I was in the pack then, I would have been there together with them. I later moved here with my mother and she nurtured me until I was wise enough to be safe and she left.I hadn’t heard anything from her and as her warning went, I should never tell anyone who I am and where I came from. And for the past seven years, I have been leaving up to it. No one except Agnes knew the truth about me. “Inez.” A calm voice yet enticing called out.I jerked out of my thoughts, looking ahead of me. “Yes.” I answered politely.I wasn’t sure of who was there and to get out of there, I need to be polite. “How are you keeping up here?” The voice asked. It isn’t up to an hour that I had spent in here, yet I would have spent it out there in the kitchen with the rest of the omegas. “Fine.” I responded.I dragged my butt to the light and I couldn’t express my emotions because I wasn’t sure if I was happy or sad. Alpha Liam kneeled in front of the dungeon cell, his face pushed away from the iron door. His strong smell lingers around the entire place, carrying an aura that even Alpha Lance doesn’t have and it won’t go unnoticed that he is a Lycan. Lycans are allergic to iron and it doesn’t take a minute for them to burn under the touch of iron.“I will talk to Alpha Lance to get you out of here. It isn’t your fault that you happen to be our mate.” He reasoned.Among the three Alphas which whom I am mated, he is the only one that seemed to be calm. I can’t say much about Alpha Phineas because I hardly heard of him.I gave him a faint smile. He didn’t wait for a response from me and he left. I watched his retreating figure disappear into the darker side of the hallway that leads to the exit door.Once again, I am all left alone with silence being my only companion. I crawled back to the wall, hoping the heat coming from the back of the dungeon will help keep me warm.To be honest, I would love to get out of here and the first thing I would do when I get out of this dungeon is to get my things ready and leave. Maybe it is my calling to find my father or my mother instead.Father has a lot to answer, for the past seven years, I have been drafting those questions on my mind. The first one is why he had sent mother out of the community. While growing up, we didn’t have anything like packs and Alphas. All I knew was that father led the community and we weren’t much. My mother worked as a maid in the daytime while at the night, she is nothing but my father’s concubine that had to bore him a child. But the love between them couldn’t go unnoticed by all. The way he looks at her, or the way he calls her name says it all. It is just so sad that everything has to end so soon. And all for reasons best known to father and mother. I only knew little. No conversation happened in front of me because I was labeled a child yet I was groomed to fight.Little did I know that fate had something different in store for me. Little did I know that my ability to fight will be rendered obsolete.Even if it wasn’t rendered obsolete, there is no way I can fight Alpha Lance’s men and expect to be in one piece. So all I can do is sit back and watch, watch what might as well be the end of our story.Alpha Lance’s POVI walked into the dimly lit room, the air thick with tension. The two Alphas were seated at a long, oak table. Liam was seated at the end of the table, his eyes darting between Phineas and me.I couldn't help but notice the way Liam's muscles tensed as soon as I entered the room. I knew something was amiss, and I was determined to find out what it was."Sit," Liam said, gesturing towards an empty chair.I took my seat, my eyes scanning the room. The walls were adorned with old paintings, the colors faded with time. The room was quiet, the only sounds coming from the ticking grandfather clock in the corner."Liam," I began, my voice cutting through the silence. "I have reason to believe that your feelings towards Inez are not entirely platonic."I watched as Liam's face turned red, his jaw clenching. "What are you talking about?" he spat.I leaned back in my chair, a sly smile on my face. I couldn't have Inez falling for him. He is the easiest amongst us and he has a
My eyes adjust to the dim light filtering through the small window high up in the wall. As my vision clears, I realize that I am not alone. I am chained to the wall, my wrists secured by a heavy, rusted iron chain that seems to be fused into the wall itself. I tug at the chain, but it is unyielding, as if it has become a part of me.I try to remember how I got here, but my memories are hazy. Then it all came rushing back to me, the party, the seer, Alpha Lance accusing me for everything and ordering the guards to lock me up.As I look down at my wrists, I notice the chain that binds me. It is unlike any chain I have ever seen before. It is as thick as my thumb and made of a strange, shimmering metal that seems to shift in the dim light. It is not rusted like the rest of the dungeon, but instead, it glows with an otherworldly sheen.I can feel its weight pulling at my wrists, and I can't help but wonder what sort of magic has been woven into this chain. It is as if it has a life of its
ALPHA LIAM'S POV.After the little talk with Lance, I walked out of the room and went straight to the dungeon. My blood boiled as I watched the whips strike into Inez's body. Each strike felt like a stab to my heart, and I couldn't bear to see the pain etched on her face. I clenched my fists so tight that my nails dug into my palms, and my muscles felt like they were ready to snap. This is the second time she is getting beaten up by Lance’s men.I wanted to scream at them, to demand that they stop this madness. But I knew it would do no good. Lance had made up his mind, and there was no changing it. Inez was trapped, just like we were.I walk out of the dungeon and into the cool evening breeze, taking deep breaths to calm my raging anger. I couldn’t stand there for any more seconds and watched as they whip her up.How could he do such a thing to her? I had suspected that Lance had some sort of nefarious plan for Inez, but I never imagined he would go this far.As I walk towards the r
INEZ'S POV.As I slowly opened my eyes, my heart racing with confusion and fear, I couldn't help but notice that I was no longer in the dungeon. The first thing that caught my eye was the room's stark white walls, almost blinding in their cleanliness. The floor was a polished marble that shone like a mirror, reflecting the bright overhead lights. There was a large window on one wall that allowed the sunlight to stream in, and the curtains were drawn aside, letting me see the outside world. The room itself was much larger than any of the cells I had been kept in before. There was a large bed in the center, with crisp white sheets that seemed to have been ironed to perfection. A small nightstand was next to the bed, with a vase of freshly cut flowers sitting on top. Across from the bed was a row of cabinets and shelves, all of which were filled with medical supplies, neatly arranged and labeled. There was a single door leading out of the room, and it was made of a heavy, dark wood th
ALPHA PHINEAS'S POV.I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Lance was giving us an ultimatum - either we leave the pack or Inez continues to stays in the dungeon. We went through a lot to convince him to let her out first before we reach a conclusion. How could he be so cruel? Thinking about it led me to greater complexities but there was nothing we could do other than dancing to his beat.He had the leverage because he was the Alpha here, but he was acting more like a dictator. My blood boiled at the thought of leaving Inez behind, but I knew that we had to come up with a plan fast.I looked over at Liam, who had a stern look on his face. He was just as angry as I was. We both knew that leaving the pack was a very bad option. We couldn't just walk away like that. We also couldn't leave Inez in the dungeon. She was our mate, and we had to protect her no matter what.I took a deep breath and looked back at Lance. "Alpha, please reconsider. Inez is our mate. We cannot just leave her be
INEZ'S POVI woke up feeling sore all over my body. My eyes were heavy with sleep, and as I yawned and stretched, I squinted around the dimly lit room. For a moment, I couldn't see anything, and the panic started to rise in my chest. It reminded me of the dungeon, where I was left alone in the dark for days on end.But as my eyes adjusted to the dim light, I saw that I was in the small room with plain, bare walls. I heard some knocks on the door, but I was too scared to respond. The memories of the dungeon were still fresh in my mind, and I didn't want to face any more trauma. However, the knocking persisted, becoming louder and more persistent with each passing moment.Eventually, the door opened, and a guard walked in. I recognized him as one of the men who had whipped me in the past. My heart began to race as I tried to shrink back into the bed, hoping he wouldn't notice me.He was a tall, broad-shouldered man with a stern look on his face. He wore a black uniform with the emblem
ALPHA LANCE'S POV.I enter my chamber after my meeting with Inez, and my fiancée Ingrid is already there waiting for me. She's wearing a sexy black nightgown that hugs her curves in all the right places. The smug smile on her face tells me she has something planned. She sits in front of me as I change in front of the mirror and puts a hand on my shoulder. "Hey there, handsome," she purrs.I grunt in response, not in the mood for pleasantries. But I know I have to keep up appearances, so I ask her how her day was. She rambles on about some trivial matter that I don't care about. As I finish changing, Ingrid studies me with a curious look. "Is everything okay?" she asks, raising an eyebrow.I couldn't help but notice the way Ingrid's silk nightgown hugged her curves, the way it flowed down her legs like liquid. It was a deep shade of red, the color of passion, and it complemented her dark hair perfectly. Her smug smile told me that she knew the effect it had on me. But despite her allur
Lance’s POV.My heart raced as I leaned in closer to Ingrid. My lips trembled with anticipation, longing to feel the warmth of hers against my own. I felt her breath on my face, a sweet and spicy scent that sent an electric current through me. My arms snaked around her waist, pulling her into me, our bodies melting together as one. I could feel the heat radiating from her skin, intensifying the desire that filled us both. My lips found hers, soft and inviting, inviting me in for something more. I deepened the kiss, exploring every inch of her mouth with my tongue. Ingrid responded eagerly, letting out a small moan as my hands roamed up and down her body. The kiss seemed to last forever. Our tongues danced around each other in a passionate tango that neither of us wanted to end. Even when we broke apart for air, the electricity between us kept us connected like a magnetic force field. We looked into each other's eyes, lost in the moment, before slowly pulling away from each other. I
