The next day, I went to Caroline's house and she said Zita was in the backyard at the river bank. I went there and saw her holding a small steel silver pot.

I walked up to her and faked a cough, causing her to glance at me.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked her.

She nodded and smiled. "It's still warm in here." I stared at the pot then it dawned to me what was in there. I looked up at her and she shook her head.

"That's Zoey's ashes?"

"Yeah. I was reluctant to throw it into the water. I'm happy you're here. I've gotten the strength to do what I want now."

I chuckled. She opened the pot,dipped her hand into it and took a handful of ashes then threw them into the water. She did so till the pot was empty and dropped the pot in the water. We both watched the pot as it flowed on the water surface.
