Chapter Nineteen: The Big Switch

Oliver is still holding Amanda's hand while the ambulance is making its way to the nearest hospital. After a few minutes, the ambulance stopped infront of the emergency room entrance.

Oliver was holding Amanda's hand, never letting her go.

While the medical staffs are taking care of Amanda, Oliver saw another gurney and his eyes widened in big shock when she realized that it was his good friend, Lara Smith who was also involved in the construction site accident!

Amanda and Lara were both wheeled inside the Emergency Room. It was clearly obvious that the two women are in a critical condition.

"Please wait outside the ER!" the nurse advised Oliver, as she guided him outside the room.

Oliver was too weak to protest anymore. He feels like he's in a trance, but his eyes followed Amanda and Lara who are being transferred at the Emergency Room...

Few agonizing hours have passed. The emergency room's door finally opened, and the doctor came out.

"How are they, doctor?" Oliver instantly inquired, while his heart is beating so fast.

"Are you related to the patients who was involved in the construction site incident?" the doctor asked, in a serious manner.

"Yes, doctor." Oliver nodded anxiously.

"Well, both of them miraculously survived. But there's a very important thing that I need to talk about the the patient's family. We really need to talk to them." informed the doctor. 

Oliver wanted to ask more questions, but he knows that the doctor could only talk to the biological family members of their patients and discuss about Amanda and Lara's health condition.

That's why he didn't have a choice but to call Amanda's parents, which is Mr. and Mrs. Montserrat...

LARA SMITH

Lara's eyes instantly flew open as she gasps for a deep breath. Her body feels so weak. She feels like she ran an endless marathon and her legs feels like jelly.

She roamed her eyes around and she thoughtfully frowned when she realized that the room feels strange... From the ceilings and the walls, it looks so white. And she can feel the intense smell of alcohol.

Lara looked at her right side and she was surprised to see some kind of machines beeping, and when she looked at her hand, there were some thin tubes...

"Where the hell am I?" she asked myself, while looking bewildered.

The door suddenly opens, and she saw a nurse. She and the nurse stared at each other for a few seconds, then afterwards, the nurse quickly went towards her.

"This is good news! You're finally awake, Ma'am!"  the nurse smiles at her.

"Huh? What do you mean I'm finally awake?" Lara inquired, and she's getting creeped out at each passing minute.

"I will call Dr. Faulkerson to do a series of test on you. Afterwards, he will explain to you what happened." the nurse spoke again.

Lara decided to trust the nurse. She saw the nurse pushing a button, then afterwards, she started checking her blood pressure and her vital signs...

After a month.

Lara opened her eyes one morning. Once she is finally awake, she lets out a big sigh, while she slowly gets up from her bed...

It has been a month since she was released from the hospital. The team of medical doctors explained to her that she was involved in an accident inside a construction site, where metal debris hits her head. She managed to survive, but she was under comatosed for six months...

But luckily, she was able to wake up from her comatose. But there's a catch. She doesn't know why and how did it happen, but something peculiar and unexplainable happened to her...

She is now known and living as Amanda Montserrat! While the real Amanda is living as her, Lara Smith!

Again, she doesn't know what kind of magic or phenomena happened, but she assumes that she and Amanda switched their souls, and she doesn't have the slightest idea an why did it happen.

Unfortunately, Amanda, who is now known as Lara Smith, is still under comatose at the hospital... 

At the first two weeks since she was discharged from the hospital, it was very challenging for her to adjust and live the life of a very rich woman, Amanda Montserrat.

But as days goes by, she is able to get used to the life of her good friend. However, she wants to go back to her original body and go back to living a normal life. She misses her solitary but peaceful life, she misses the nuns  who took care of her at the orphanage, and most especially the children at the facility.

But as she tries to figure out on how help Amanda and go back to their original bodies, she needs to do a roleplay.

Lara needs to be the dutiful and loving daughter to Mr and Mrs Montserrat. She needs to act normal, and be like Amanda to avoid suspicions from her parents. But she promised herself that she will do anything and everything she can within her powers to make everything go back to normal...

Anyway, it's not only Amanda's parents that she needs to deal with, but she also needs to face her soon-to-be husband, Mr. Emmett Albreicht.

On the first week since she came out from a "coma," Emmett has always been there for her. But he needs to go to France for a business trip, and he promised that he will try to come back soon to take care of her and help her in anyway he can...

Also, she needs go get mentally, emotionally and physically ready because she needs to go back to office soon as CEO Amanda Montserrat. It's a good thing that when Amanda's secretly visited her, she promised that she sill help her run the company, believing that she's really her Boss.

So, the things that she needs to do are One: Find a way on how can she and Amanda can go back to their original bodies. Two: How to live the life of Amanda Montserrat and 

how to deal with her parents, and last but not the least, how to face Emmett Albreicht, Amanda's future husband...
