Chapter Twelve: Emmett Albreicht, The Shining and Dashing Prince

Before Lara could say something else, they heard someone knocking at the door. 

"Please wait for me, I'm just going to see who's at the door." Amanda told her.

Lara nodded in return.

Amanda stood up, and walked towards the door. As soon as she opens the door, she was greeted by her fiance', Emmett.

"Hello there, honey! I just dropped by to surprise you!"

Lara discreetly glances at Amanda's visitor. She saw a man who is talking to her Boss. She secretly whistled while staring at the man. He looks like a model who walked out straight from the pages of a men's fashion magazine. He looks so damn gorgeous! His face can make the women swoon and crawl at his feet. He got the most amazing blue eyes and she feels hypnotized by it. He also got a straight nose that ends with a soft, curvy tip.

Lara's eyes went down to his lips, and goodness gracious! He got kissable lips, and she can't help but wonder how is it like to be kissed by him. He also got a well-defined jawline, and it made him hotter.

Wait a minute! Why is she secretly crushing on him? She shouldn't be feeling like this! She has been following all the freshest news about Amanda, and she's very much aware that this man is engaged to be married to her Boss!

Their engagement has been the talk of the town. They are called as a power couple, and everyone are expecting them to have a fairytale-like wedding.

They look perfect with each other, and they are considered as a celebrity couple.

And here she was, sitting at the corner and she feels like an extra character in their lovestory, while this couple looks like the female lead and the male lead in a blockbuster film...

Lara snaps out from her reverie when the couple started waking together towards their direction.

"I'm sorry for making you wait, Lara. I am excited to introduce you to my fiance'. He is Emmett Albreicht... Emmett, I want you to meet Lara Smith, my new friend here. She's also working here at Etoile Cosmetics." Amanda introduces them to each other.

Lara suddenly feels embarrassed because she is currently wearing her boring one piece gray jumpsuit, which is the uniform for cleaners at Etoile Cosmetics. She feels so plain, unattractive and awkward, compared to the beautiful couple who is sitting across her.

"Nice to meet you, Sir." she forced herself to speak but deep inside, she wanted to hide behind a huge rock and stay there forever because if extreme embarrassment. 

The huge gap between the rich and the poor is clearly evident while talking to them.

"Please, you don't have to call me sir. Just call me Emmett. It's my pleasure to meet you, Lara." Emmett smilingly said, while extending his hand for a handshake.

Lara was hesitant to answer his handshake because of her rough and dry hands. But she doesn't have a choice but to answer his handshake because she doesn't want to look rude infront of Emmett and Amanda.

"Honey, I'm actually thinking of inviting Lara as one of our special guests at our wedding." Amanda suddenly suggested.

"Of course, we would be more than happy to invite you to witness the most important milestone in our lives." Emmett agreed, without even thinking twice.

"B-But I'm not really---!" Lara was about to tell them that she doesn't have the right to attend a grand and important wedding just like theirs as she is a nobody but she wasn't able to do so because Amanda suddenly interrupted her.

"We don't take no as an answer, Lara

 I really want you to be there." Amanda firmly enunciated.

"Yes, and you don't have to worry about everything and anything. We'll take care if everything for you." Emmett reassures her.

Lara just nodded in return, but she is still a bit hesitant and confuses at the sudden turn of events.

Emmett and Amanda started having a conversation with her, but her mind is flying elsewhere. She still can't believe that this power couple invited her to the grandest wedding this year eventhough she's a nobody.

And she can't believe that her Lady Luck is finally smiling at her!

EMMETT ALBREICHT

Few hours have passed.

Emmett and Amanda are currently having dinner at their favorite French restaurant.

"So, what do you think of Lara, honey?" Amanda suddenly asked him.

Emmett took a sip of wine first before answering Amanda's question.

"She seems very nice and polite. But it was clearly obvious that she's feeling shy." he relayed his first impression of Lara Smith.

Lara can't look at him straight into the eyes and she was mostly silent during their conversation.

"Yes, she looks like an introvert person. And you know what, she's been working at Etoile Cosmetics for so many years now as part of the cleaning department. She told me about her dream in life, and I've decided to help her reach her goals." relayed Amanda.

"Oh, really? What do you have in mind?" Emmett suddenly became interested with Amanda's idea.

"I was actually thinking of being her sponsor and enroll her at a special school that can improve her skill. She has a lot of potential, and I know that she'll go a long way in the future. What do you think about it?" Amanda told Emmett all of her plans.

Emmett patiently listens to Amanda. She can she how passionate she is on helping other people, and that is one of the characteristics that he really loves about his future wife.

Aside from being a smart, independent and successful businesswoman, but Amanda is a philanthropist as well. She is a patron of numerous charities, and she doesn't want to let the media know to protect the privacy of the other people.

Emmett is so impressed by Amanda's compassion, sympathy and empathy for the people who really needs help around her. 

Amanda is a definition of an angel.
