In the distance, made clear by dragon sight, Adrastus zeroed in on the black SUV speeding down the dirt road.
'April I'm coming, hold on!' He thought to himself as he banked left into the wind current that would hurtle his massive body as fast as an arrow towards those who sought to take his mate from him. By the time Adrastus had left April's building, the sun had set and he was weary beyond compare. His heart felt empty and for the first time in his long life, the dragon couldn't bear the solitude. He had to find April, dead or alive. There was simply no other choice. So he set off, in the most logical direction they would take to get to the Midnight pack. An hour later, they were in his sight and the smell of April's blood drove Adrastus to push his body even harder to reach them. She was hurt, and someone in that vehicle would pay dearly for it...
