"Alpha Kael?" a guard called from the doorway. "The elders are asking for you. The ceremony is about to continue." Kael didn't answer. Instead, he gently pulled Elias farther into the shadows behind one of the marble pillars. His broad body shielded the smaller omega completely from view. Elias could hear the guard's footsteps growing closer, and his heart pounded so loudly he was certain they would be discovered. The guard stepped onto the balcony and glanced around. "Strange..." he muttered. "I could have sworn he came this way." After a few moments, the guard shook his head and returned to the ballroom. "You can breathe now," kael said softly. Elias immediately stepped away, putting as much distance between them as the small balcony allowed. "You shouldn't have hidden me," he whispered. "If someone had seen us together... the rumors would spread through the entire kingdom." "I wasn't thinking about rumors." "You should have been." Kael looked at him for a long moment. "I was thinking about you." The words struck Elias harder than he expected. He quickly looked away, pretending to admire the moon hanging over the palace gardens. "Congratulations on your engagement," he said quietly. Kael sighed. "Is that all you have to say?" Elias forced a smile that never reached his eyes. "What else should I say? Everyone inside is celebrating. You and my sister are the perfect match. Soon you'll become Alpha King and she'll be your Luna." "And what do you think about that?" "It doesn't matter what I think." "It matters to me." Elias finally looked into Kael's piercing blue eyes. For a brief moment, he wanted to kiss him He immediately lowered his gaze. "You shouldn't say things like that." "Why?" "Because you're going to marry my sister." Kael clenched his jaw. "There are truths you don't know yet, Elias. If you knew the whole story, you wouldn't be saying this." Before Elias could say another word, the balcony door swung open once more. "There you are!" Selene stepped outside, her elegant silver gown shimmering beneath the moonlight. A graceful smile rested on her lips, but her sharp eyes immediately landed on Elias. For the briefest second, suspicion flickered across her face. "I've been looking everywhere for you, Kael," she said, slipping her arm through his. "The elders are waiting to announce the wedding date." Kael's gaze lingered on Elias for one silent moment before he reluctantly turned away. "I'll be there." As Kael walked back into the ballroom beside his fiancée, Elias can not stop looking at them. *********** The grand ballroom fell silent as the Head Elder stepped onto the raised platform. His silver robes swept across the polished floor while two guards unrolled a long parchment bearing the royal seals of both packs. "Honored Alphas, Betas, Elders, and guests," the Head Elder announced, his voice echoing through the hall. "Tonight marks the beginning of a new era. The union between the Silver Moon Pack and the Night Fang Pack will strengthen our kingdom for generations." Elias stood near one of the marble pillars, a smile rested on his face, but it felt heavy, as if it didn't belong to him. His eyes drifted toward Kael. The Alpha stood proudly beside Selene, accepting the congratulations of the nobles. They looked every bit like the perfect couple everyone believed them to be. Elias couldn't bear the celebration any longer, he quietly slipped through the crowd toward one of the palace corridors. "Elias." His father's deep voice froze him in place. He slowly turned around. The Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack stood with his hands behind his back, his expression stern. "Where are you going?" "I... just needed some air." His father frowned. "This celebration is for your sister. Guests have already begun asking why you've disappeared twice tonight." "I'm sorry." "You should be." His father's voice was calm, but every word stung. " Your sister carries the future of this family on her shoulders. The least you can do is support her instead of wandering off." Elias lowered his head. "Yes, Father." His father looked him for a moment before speaking again. "I expect you to behave properly until the festivities are over." Without waiting for an answer, he walked away. Elias remained standing in the corridor, his hands trembling slightly. Not once had his father asked if something was wrong. Not once. Swallowing the lump in his throat, Elias finally made his way outside. The palace gardens were peaceful beneath the moonlight. White roses swayed gently in the cool night breeze, and the laughter from the ballroom sounded distant. Elias walked slowly along the stone path, trying to calm the ache in his chest. "You always disappear when things get too loud." He stopped. That voice... Turning around, Elias's eyes widened.Later that evening, Elias finally returned home. he had barely stepped inside when he heard laughter coming from the sitting room. Selene was waiting for him.The moment she saw him, a mischievous smile appeared on her face..“So, you're finally home.”Elias turned and found her standing there with a knowing smile. He immediately became suspicious. “Why are you looking at me like that?”Selene folded her arms. “Shouldn't I be asking you that?”“I don't understand.”“Oh, please.” She laughed. “You really thought you could kiss Liana in front of everyone and come home pretending nothing happened?”Elias sighed and looked away.Selene walked closer, clearly enjoying his discomfort. "So it's true?”"People have already told you?”"I didn't need anyone to tell me. The entire place is talking about it.”Elias rubbed the back of his neck. “It wasn't a big deal.”"Not a big deal?” Selene laughed. “You kissed your sister's friend and confessed that you've loved her for a long time. How is that

Kael stared at Elias for a moment. Then, unexpectedly, he smiled. It was a soft smile, almost as if Elias's decision hadn't frightened him at all. Before Elias could say another word, Kael stepped closer. He placed a gentle kiss on Elias's cheek and wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him closer."You are mine,” Kael whispered against his ear. “And only mine. You can't leave me.”Elias's heart skipped. Before he could say anything, Kael kissed his cheek again. Then he released him and walked out of the room.Elias remained standing there in silence, He touched the place where Kael had kissed him.He didn't know what to feel.Should he be happy?Or should he be angry?Elias sighed and shook his head.He didn't want to think about it anymore. He returned home and went straight to his room. After taking a shower, he dressed in clean clothes and headed toward his sister's room. He wanted to check on her and see how she was doing. When he opened the door, he stopped. His sister wasn't
Elias stared at his breakfast, but he no longer had any appetite to eat, he pushed his chair back. "I'm not hungry anymore." Selene looked at him in surprise. "Elias—" But he was already walking away. He didn't wait for anyone to say another word. As soon as he stepped outside the palace, the cool morning air hit his face. He walked quickly across the courtyard, his expression dark. Liana hurried after him. "Elias, wait!" He slowed down but didn't turn around. Liana finally caught up with him. "You were supposed to show me around." "I know." "Are you okay?" "I'm fine." His answer was short, almost cold. Liana looked at his face, clearly unconvinced. Before she could say anything else, the sound of horses approaching came from the palace gates. The sound of horses approaching made Elias stop. His eyes immediately found Kael. For a brief moment, their gazes met. Elias waited. He expected Kael to smile at him, say something, or at least acknowledge his presence. I
Liana's face burned with embarrassment. "I-I'm so sorry, Elias!" she stammered, quickly lowering her head. "I didn't mean to intrude." She hurried toward the door, desperate to escape the awkward situation.Gripping the handle, she twisted it. It wouldn't budge. She frowned and tried again, this time with more force. The door remained firmly shut. "W-What?" she whispered. Elias had already put on a shirt and fastened the first few buttons before noticing her struggling. "It won't open?" Liana shook her head, refusing to look at him. "I... I think it's locked."Elias let out a quiet sigh. "Selene." He didn't need anyone to tell him who was behind it. His sister had clearly locked the door from the outside.Walking over, he stopped beside Liana. "It's all right," he said gently. "Move aside for a moment." Liana stepped back, her heart beating so loudly she was certain he could hear it. Standing so close to him only made her more nervous. Elias reached past her and grasped
"Lady Liana, would you mind giving me twenty minutes?" She blinked. "Twenty minutes?" "I'd like to wash up first. I left my room early this morning, and I don't think it's polite to take a lady around the capital looking like this."Liana's cheeks turned pink."O-Of course. I don't mind waiting." "Thank you." Elias smiled warmly. "I'll be back before you know it, then I'll show you around the city."Just as he turned to leave, Selene narrowed her eyes."Wait."Elias froze.Slowly, he looked back at his sister. "Yes?" "You want to bathe now?""...Yes." Selene folded her arms. "Why didn't you bathe before coming downstairs?"Elias forced a laugh."I... overslept.""You've never skipped your morning bath before." "I suppose today is an exception." Selene continued staring at him. Something about his behavior felt... strange. Then another thought crossed her mind. She tilted her head. "Did you go somewhere this morning?" For a split second, Elias's heart nearly
