Chapter 6

"With what I'm seeing, don't you feel like I should strip you of your rank as the leader of the moonlight pack?" Darrell's father yelled. Darrell had a sad look on his face.

They were in the living room of his mansion where Darrell's father was scolding Darrell and talking some sense into his head.

"I'm sorry father. Like I said, I will find a solution to this." Darrell tried to defend himself but only ended up making his father even angrier.

"And what exactly are you going to do? Wage war on the Crescent pack? In case you've forgotten, we've lost most of our pack members to them..." He argued as he tried to make Darrell see things from his point of view but he was interrupted.

"In case we have to wage war against them, I'll personally lead the pack and we shall emerge victorious." Darrell refuted. His father shot him a disdainful look, one that would make even a non-offender feel guilty.

"Look at you... speaking like a child. Even if we wage war against them, at what cost Darrell. No matter how weak a member of the pack is, they are all family and they should not be sent to war just because of your incompetence." His father scolded. Darrell bit his lip as he was burning with anger, but he was also afraid. His father stripping him of his rank wouldn't be much of a surprise to him, considering everything that had been happening until now.

However, if he was stripped of his rank, the shame that would overcome him would be unbearable. He cursed the Crescent pack on the inside. He felt like tearing every single member of the pack apart.

"Then, perhaps we can take a friendly approach first. This way, we won't be sacrificing our pack members." Darrell suggested. His father still kept his frowning face on.

"Keep talking." Darrell's father said. Seeing that his father was slightly interested, he continued.

"I was just thinking that we should have a peaceful dialogue with the Crescent pack. We'll make a very attractive deal with them, one that will be hard for them to refuse." he said. Darrell's father laughed mockingly at him for thinking in this manner.

"Hahahahaha. And what sort of deal do you think will have the Crescent Pack drooling? " he asked. Darrell's look turned a bit solemn.

"Well... I haven't given it much thought yet, " Darrell replied. His father sighed and shook his head. In disappointment.

"You're such a fool, Darrell." he said, before glaring at his son, "I give you two weeks. Two weeks, Darrell. Clean up this mess of yours. If not, you'll be stripped of  your rank as the leading Alpha. Got it? " he threatened.  Darrell bowed his head.

"Yes, father," he answered. Darrell's father turned away from his son with his arms behind him.

"You can go," he ordered. Darrell nodded and left. The moment he left the living room, he was extremely relieved. He was relieved because of the amount of pressure his father exuded, but that wasn't the main reason. He was mainly relieved that he wouldn't be losing his Alpha title just yet. Now, he just had to think of what move to make next, as two weeks wouldn't take long to run out.

However, as all this was unfolding, a black silhouette was  behind one of the pillars in the mansion. It had been eavesdropping on Darrell and his fathers' conversation. She had erased her scent so that none of them would sense her presence.

                                                                                                                                 *****************

In a cold dark forest, filled with all kinds of trees, providing canopies for the ground, the sounds of crickets and some other kinds of small animals could be heard. The shining eyes of the howl could send shivers down one's spine. The bright and shining full moon illuminated the lands, almost making it as bright as day.

A black silhouette ran through the woods with a speed so fast that she could almost be considered a blur. The figure was wearing a black cloak so even its face couldn't be seen.  After running for almost half a mile, it stopped to catch a breath and began to walk. Suddenly, a familiar sound attracted its attention and it turned its head towards the direction of the deadly howl of a wolf.

Without hesitating, the black figure began to walk towards the direction of the faint howl. It walked a considerable distance before suddenly stopping, like it sensed something.

"Come out now." the figure said, with a voice as smooth as that of a matured girl. This voice had no hint of fear in it. Instead, it sounded like one from a fearless person. Sounds of shaking leaves began to sound and she could see the small bushes around her moving. Low growls were sounding around her, but she kept her cool.

Without any warning, large wolves began to appear around her. These wolves looked like normal ones, but were bigger. About four and half feet tall. They surrounded her and growled at the girl in the cloak. Suddenly, A black wolf came out of the thick bush. It was a bit taller than the rest of the wolves present there and it gave off an aura of superiority. The rest of the wolves had to give way for it to pass.

It bared its teeth at the cloaked girl as it approached her. It walked around her and sniffed her clothes a few times before finally leaving her alone. After having some distance between them both, it suddenly began to get smaller and the fur started disappearing. In seconds, the large and powerful wolf transformed into a very handsome and muscular man. His muscular chest was bare, exposing his nicely shaped abs. His well trimmed black hair and blue eyes added to his beauty, making him look irresistible. He had the tattoo of a crescent moon on his arm, indicating that he was from the Crescent pack.

His expression was a bit serious as he approached the girl. The other wolves didn't transform but kept their wolf forms.

"What do you have for us today?" the man asked. His voice was deep, soft and intimidating at the same time.

"I'm here to make a deal." the cloaked girl replied. The man felt slightly displeased, but he didn't lose his composure. Instead, he folded his arms.

   "I'm listening," he said.

"Very soon, the Moonlight pack will try to negotiate a deal with you, and they'll most likely make a very irresistible deal." she said. The man's expression still didn't change. Seeing this, the girl continued, "I want you to reject them no matter what. Continue with the war." she said.

"And what's in it for us?" the man asked. The  girl brought forward a briefcase. After making some clicking sounds, the case opened and what was inside was shocking. The leader was surprised but he didn't change his facial expression.

"Three hundred and two mIllion dollars as down payment for your trouble. More will come when the deal is off, " she said in a serious tone. The man in front of her contemplated for a while before accepting the money.

"We have a deal, " the man claimed and they sealed the deal.
