Chapter 5

After that, I never saw Xavier again, and no one else came to visit me.

I have been staying in the hospital for three days and would be discharged when I start feeling better. I couldn\'t wait to get the divorce over and done with so I can finally leave him as soon as possible.

After I was discharged from the hospital, I went home first and planned to pack up my things before calling Xavier.

I was stunned when the key in my hand wouldn’t work on the door, but the door suddenly opened from the inside.

Rachelle, dressed in bright red, saw me and smiled softly, “Yasmin, you are back!”

Her smile made my heart fume with anger, “Why are you here?”

“Xavier and I are getting married, why wouldn’t I be here?” Rachelle said triumphantly as she lowered her head and gently stroked her flat belly.

Why was she caressing her belly?

My eyes widened in shock. Rachelle, looking arrogant, frowned, “Yes, you\'re right, I\'m pregnant!”

  “You…”

My horror was not enough to describe it in words. Rachelle appeared only three days ago, does it mean it happened before…

“I\'ve already returned to China, and Xavier wanted to confront you about it a long time ago. I told him to confess in front of his parents at the birthday banquet. That way, it’s more formal.”

Rachelle\'s beautiful big eyes glinted sarcastically, “Yasmin, you have worked so hard to please a man for three years, but I can get mine with just the snap of my fingers. How does it feel?”

“You...” I raised my left hand, but before I could strike, I heard a cold scoff.

I looked up and I saw Xavier walking toward her side. He grabbed my hand and pushed me back, and asked sternly, “Why are you here?”

“How can you open the door to her so casually? What if she bullies you?” Xavier held Rachelle\'s shoulders in such a gentle and caring manner.

“Yeah, I opened the door and saw her. I just wanted to persuade her not to blame you, but didn\'t expect that she would scold me and try to hit me…” Rachelle pretentiously covered her mouth, looking like she was about to cry.

Xavier carefully guarded Rachelle behind him and exclaimed in anger, “Didn\'t you already sign the divorce papers? Yasmin, why are you causing trouble here?”

Rachelle frowned, her eyes filled with crocodile tears, “Xavier, let\'s not blame her. She has been with you for three years and it’s normal for her to be unwilling if she didn\'t get a single bit in return. It\'s my fault. I didn\'t guard you three years ago, and I shouldn\'t have come back three years later, otherwise your life wouldn’t be a mess.”

Rachelle really was a bitch. She managed to stir up trouble without changing her expression.

Xavier was so angry, he looked like he wanted to chew my head off. He held her hand and said cautiously, “Silly girl, how is it your fault? I didn\'t divorce this woman just so you would cry. Go back to our room first and wait for me. Let me handle this, then I’ll come to you later, okay?”

I almost puked in my mouth. It really was such a shame. In the eyes of this man, I’m nothing but a tool for his schemes.

“Handle this? How are you going to handle this? You provoked me three years ago, and three years later, you betrayed me again. You ruined my life. You also forced me to get out of the house when you’re the one who cheated and wanted to dispose of me easily. No way!” I snapped at him.

I didn\'t want to take it back, but watching him slander me in order to be with Rachelle made me change my mind.

Why must I be the only one who gets hurt when I didn’t even do anything wrong?

“Do you want to die?” Xavier asked as he gritted his teeth in anger.

I kept a straight expression to hide my weakness and looked at him, “I don\'t want to die even when I\'m having a hard time. I won’t let you leave me just so you could live a happy life!”
