Rafael's POV

I held my daughter in my arms for a moment, my heart aching for her pain and for the confusion swirling in her little head. But I also wanted her to feel my love, to feel that I would always have open arms for her and that I would try to prevent all the pain I could. I would try, even though I couldn't prevent all pain, like at that moment when I couldn't stop her from becoming the target of a manipulator who certainly didn't want anything good for her.
