Kael’s POV

The air was thick with the afterglow of awareness. Not just desire, but the quiet tension of having waited, of having let every small touch and glance linger until it became almost unbearable.

Ava leaned against me, her warmth pressed against my chest, and I realized that for the first time, I didn’t care about control. I wanted this. I wanted her.

Her fingers traced the line of my jaw, gentle, teasing, and I let my hands wander freely now, sliding over her back, tracing the curve of her waist. Not grabbing. Not claiming. But letting her feel me, letting myself feel her.

“You feel…” she murmured, breath hot against my collarbone. “Everything.”

I swallowed hard. That single word everything was both a confession and a challenge.

“I am everything,” I whispered, leaning down to press my lips to her temple, her jaw, the delicate curve of her neck. She shivered, and that shiver drove a pulse through me that was electric, immediate.

Her hands tangled in my hair, tuggi

Kael’s POV There are different kinds of noise. The kind that fills a room with laughter and clinking glasses. The kind that hums beneath music and polite conversation. And the kind that settles inside your chest when something doesn’t sit right but you can’t name it yet. The party was full of the first two. The third one stayed with me. I noticed it the moment we arrived. Ava didn’t try to command attention. She never does. She simply exists, and the world adjusts around her. Men noticed. Women noticed. Conversations shifted when she spoke. Heads turned not because she demanded it, but because she didn’t. And I hated how easily they assumed they were allowed to look. I stood beside her, glass in hand, listening to a board member drone on about expansion strategies while my attention tracked the room. Every glance that lingered on her a second too long felt like an intrusion. Every smile she gave polite, professional felt misinterpreted. She wasn’t encouraging it. They

  • Irresistible Sin   Chapter 30

Ava’s POV The car ride back is quiet, but it isn’t empty. It’s filled with everything we didn’t say at the party. Everything Kael swallowed instead of letting it spill. The tension doesn’t press down it coils, patient and alert, like it’s waiting to be acknowledged. Kael sits beside me, one arm resting against the door, posture relaxed in a way that doesn’t quite fool me. His other hand lies loose on his thigh, fingers occasionally flexing as the city lights streak past the windows. White. Gold. Reflections sliding over sharp angles and softer shadows. He looks composed. He isn’t. The silence stretches long enough to become deliberate. “You were quiet at the party,” I say finally, choosing my tone carefully. Not accusing. Not placating. Just honest. He exhales through his nose, gaze still forward. “I was watching.” “Watching what?” “You,” he answers without hesitation. I turn to him then, really look at his face instead of the profile he offers the world. “That’s not an ans

  • Irresistible Sin   Chapter 29

Ava’s POV Morning came slowly, heavy with the warmth of him still in bed beside me. Kael’s steady breathing was a contrast to my restless mind, and I lay there longer than I should have, letting the memory of last night’s closeness press into my skin. I reached for my phone quietly, careful not to disturb him. Messages from work, a few reminders, and one that made my stomach twist: an invite to a high-profile charity gala tonight. Not unusual for someone in my circle, but seeing Kael’s name appear alongside mine on the invite optional but expected made my pulse quicken. I dressed carefully, choosing something understated but elegant, soft silk that moved with me, not to impress, but to feel comfortable. I didn’t want to be caught up in the eyes of the room, but I knew with Kael present, that wouldn’t be an option. Kael appeared at the door as I finished checking my reflection, his gaze steady, measuring, assessing in that way that always made me feel both seen and exposed. “You

  • Irresistible Sin   Chapter 27

Kael’s POV The penthouse was quiet when she returned. The kind of quiet that didn’t demand attention but made every sound she made sharper, more deliberate. I leaned against the counter, sleeves rolled, tie loosened, watching her move through the space like she already belonged here. Her presence unsettled me, not because of fear or ownership I’d long ago discarded that instinct with most people but because she forced me to notice. Every little movement, the way she dropped her bag lightly onto the chair, the subtle tilt of her head when she glanced my way, the casual ease that somehow suggested she was fully aware of the effect she had on me. I wanted her. That was the simple truth, but it wasn’t just physical. It was awareness. It was the way she made me feel exposed without asking, the way she invited me closer without a word. “Long day?” I asked, breaking the silence, though the sound of my voice seemed too loud in the stillness. She looked at me, eyes dark and glinting w

  • Irresistible Sin   Chapter 26

Ava’s POV Morning always reveals things the night lets you ignore. The penthouse looks different in daylight less dramatic, more honest. The glass walls don’t hide behind reflections anymore. They show everything: the city, the clouds, the muted chaos beneath. There’s no filter, no soft focus. It’s raw, exposed, and yet there’s a beauty in that honesty, a clarity that demands attention. I cradle my coffee between both hands and watch the steam curl upward, grounding myself in the warmth. It’s one of those moments where time slows, where the usual city noise seems irrelevant. Behind me, I can feel him even without looking. Kael has a presence that fills rooms quietly, the way pressure fills air before a storm. Not loud. Not demanding. Just there. Anchoring everything around him without effort. I didn’t sleep much after he closed his eyes again last night. Not because I was uncomfortable. Not because I was scared. But because I was thinking. The night we shared was care
