TWENTY NINE

The light coming through the window is dim and pale. I turn to look at the clock next to the bed. I pull the covers over my head for a moment and think about screaming.

Probably not a good idea, let alone first thing in the morning, I take a couple of breaths to calm myself and then push the sheets back and pull my shirt down as I throw myself over the edge of the bed, which is very high.

What I wouldn't give for a bath, some clean clothes, but apparently my stomach then decides to growl loudly. I've only been here two damn nights? And it already feels like an eternity.

I shiver as my bare feet hit the cold floor, in the corner of the room is a bathroom. The lights come on automatically as I enter my eyes roam the small room, moving from the toilet to the shower and then to the vanity.
