ELIAS’S POV

I always thought Ironvale City was the pinnacle of power until I watched someone suspected of murder walk out of an interrogation room in less than two hours. I mean, I had come here from my station because I was requested by Captain Smith to come handle a murder case here in Nocturne city, and I agreed to come because my instincts were screaming that there was something more. Now, I couldn't help but laugh as I watched Aurora Blackthorne walk outside towards her husband.

ELIAS’S POVI always thought Ironvale City was the pinnacle of power until I watched someone suspected of murder walk out of an interrogation room in less than two hours. I mean, I had come here from my station because I was requested by Captain Smith to come handle a murder case here in Nocturne city, and I agreed to come because my instincts were screaming that there was something more. Now, I couldn't help but laugh as I watched Aurora Blackthorne walk outside towards her husband.I sat back on my chair, and I opened the folder I was given for the interrogation. Surely, I could smell something really fishy going on between Aurora, Cassian, Lenora, and Ronan.I finally understood the reason why Cassian met with Don Roosevelt yesterday… There's no way anyone won't be swayed by how powerful Blackthorne is, and if he wants to compete on equal footing, forming an alliance with a stronghold like Roosevelt would be the best choice.Except… If what Lucien told me about Roosevelt's involvem

AURORA'S POV“He's dead?” The words tore out of my mouth before I could even think. “How's that even possible?”In no time, my hands started trembling, and it was taking me everything to keep to my feet.Lucien brushed his palm over Big Joe's face to close his eyes and walked towards me.“We have to leave now… We can't be found here.”I froze, eyes focused on Big Joe's body, but Ronan pulled my hand and started dragging me towards the exit when the door burst open.“FREEZE!”The next thing I knew was that several guns were pointed towards us, and I couldn't stop thinking… How did we get here?“Freeze!” A man yelled again, raising his gun and stepping forward. “Put your hands where I can see them!”My heart slammed against my ribs as several officers rushed into the room and surrounded us at once, guns pointed directly at us.“What the fuck?” I whispered, raising my hands slowly. “We didn't do anything.”The captain stepped forward, eyes moving between Ronan and me.“Are you Aurora Val

LENORA'S POVThe whole room suddenly went quiet as soon as I told Cassian those words. Maybe I shouldn't have told him, cause he clearly wasn't taking it well. I could see the worry in his face, but even at that—He looked so hot, sitting with his legs sprawled across the chair like that. Still, I couldn't deny that I was starting to find Ronan more attractive than him. I mean… how did this happen? I have no idea. All I know is that I want the fuck the living daylight out of him whenever I had the chance. Fuck Aurora and her fucking investigation. If she isn't so careful, I'd be stealing Ronan too to myself.I mean… Look at me! There's no way any man is passing on these gorgeous boobies that I have, but since I couldn't get Ronan right now, I decided to enjoy every bit of Cassian instead, so I stood up and darted towards him.“Aww… my baby. What's wrong?” I asked, feigning care. “Don't worry… I'm going to take care of it, okay?”He exhaled slowly and threw his face to the other side.

AURORAS POVI guess it's quite hard to be happy in this part of the world. I stayed up all night, rolling from side to side as I thought about that fucking log book from earlier. Now would have been the perfect time to have someone to talk to, but I couldn't even dare to call Ivy when she warned me not to risk my life.I mean… Can I blame her? No one wants to lose their friend over something that could be avoided, but this is my life. There's no way I could even picture being happy without finding out what really happened to my dad, now that I've gotten the idea that he didn't die naturally. I spent the whole of the night with those thoughts until daybreak. I jumped up as soon as my 6:30am alarm rang, and I darted quickly into the bathroom. I didn't waste time like I usually do in there—I went for a fast bath, then I came out and threw on a black gown with no embroidery whatsoever. I picked up my jewelry box, and that was when I saw the necklace Ronan gave me.“Oh shit, I said I was

CASSIAN'S POV The elevator doors slid shut, and Don Roosevelt pressed the ‘B’ button. There was a chime as soon as he pressed the button, and I could feel the elevator descending. Silence stretched heavily between us, except for the elevator wiring sound. Then after a few seconds, there was a chime again, and the door opened. The scene unfolding before me was unlike anything I saw upstairs—it looked like a manually dug tunnel without plastering, and water bulbs of lights lined up forward to what felt like infinity. Don Roosevelt wheeled off, and I followed, my heart slamming harder with each step I took. We darted through the long hallway until we came across a metal door painted black. There was a code slot on the left-hand side of it. Don Roosevelt turned towards me, and I threw my face away until he finished inputting the code. The door opened with a loud groan, and as I turned towards it, the air that came from inside knocked air out of my chest. To a regular human, it might ha

CASSIAN'S POV I lifted my head as soon as I alighted from my car, staring at the massive mansion looming before me. A small smile formed across my lips as I walked towards the gate’s entrance and was immediately stopped by two security guards. They were both black-skinned, each towering over me in height, but my wolf didn't feel any threat from them since they were just humans. “State your business,” one of them said, and I raised my brow. “I'm here to see Don Roosevelt.” “Do you have an invite?” The other one asked, almost giving me no space to breathe. “You should show it to us if you have one.” “I have no invite,” I responded, after clearing my throat. “But your boss will be very interested in what I have to say.” “And who are you again?” “I'm Alpha Cassian Mooncroft from Nocturne City.” Their eyes widened at once, and their posture clearly got disturbed before they managed to pull themselves together. “Give me a minute, sir,” one of them said, already walking inside the
