MasukSofia
The guy on the phone disconnects the call, and whispers something to the murderer.
“Sweetie, we can’t call the police, do you know who these guys are?” whispers Harlow, stroking my hair.
“But it’s the right thing to do,” I say, confused as to why my best friend wouldn’t be on my side with this. Granted I haven’t seen her a lot lately, but we have been friends for ten years and we moved here together to start a fresh. The decision to move from Manchester to London was mine, but Harlow had been just as up for a fresh start as me. Both of us had dead end jobs, parents that’s didn’t give two shits, and bad taste in men.
We became friends back in school when my parents moved to the area. Now at the age of twenty-five, you’d think I’ve got it all sorted, but it’s still a mess. I have no job and no money, and now thanks to this meat head, I’ve lost the only cash source I had. There’sno way I can go back to Pete’s apartment without him, he has friends that live there that would see this as an opportunity to make me earn my rent by keeping their beds warm. I shiver at the thought.
“If your little friend here is gonna go to the police, then we need to take care of that,” says the big guy that was practically eating Harlow just three minutes ago. He’s fit enough to be a god. His dark hair is tied back into a man bun and his neatly trimmed beard is short enough to show off his chiselled jaw line. He has both arms covered in tattoos, they also peak out over the top of his T-shirt and crawl up his neck. He notices me checking him out and grins wide. So I frown, “What does that even mean? Are you threatening to kill me too?” I feel hysterical at that thought, but I try to keep it from my voice. The guy raises his eyebrows to let me know I’m right on track with that accusation. “Wow, did you plan on going on a killing spree this evening?” I mutter. Harlow nudges me to shut me up, I’m so sick of being told to shut up.
“Sophia, I swear to God, you’ll get us both killed if you carry on. These guys aren’t messing,” she whisper hisses.
“I know that Har, I just watched him kill Pete,” I hiss back.
“I have a clean-up team on the way. Do I need to add you to it?” asks the murderer.
I glare at him, He’s the better looking of the two, and whenever I look into those icy blue eyes, I feel butterflies fluttering around in my stomach which is quite sick really considering what he’s just done. I shake my head, avoiding his cool stare. “I’m gonna need words V,” he growls, his deep voice causing vibrations throughout my body.“V,” I repeat, “My name is…”
He cuts me off with a shake of the head. “I know your name, V, don’t worry.”
“I won’t tell anyone,” I say quietly.
“Does he have anyone that might come looking for him?” he asks.
I shake my head, “I doubt it. He was a drug addict so the only people that will ask, are the people he owes money to.”
“You’ll need to make it look like he’s done a runner. Maybe pack him a bag and dump it,” he suggests.
“I’m not packing him a bag. I’ll be an accessory to his murder. It’s bad enough I’ve got to stay quiet,” I snap.
“Don’t be so dramatic. If I was you, I’d get the fuck outta town. His dealers will come after you for whatever he owes.”
I glare at him, that thought hadn’t even crossed my mind. “Are you shitting me? So now I’m in danger?”
“I did you a favour, V, the guy was a bastard. Look at the state of your face,” he points out.
Maybe he sees it as a favour, but now I have no money and no place to live. Harlow has moved in to a one bed apartment because she couldn’t afford the rent on our old place once I moved out. As if reading my mind Harlow takes my hand and squeezes it, “You can sleep on my couch, sweetie,” she offers.
“Well that can’t last forever can it, what the hell am I gonna do?” I groan.
A van stops at the entrance of the alley and we all watch as three large men get out of the vehicle and make their way to the murderer. They fist bump in greeting and then listen as he fills them in.
“Any loose ends?” asks one of the guys. The murder looks at me before shaking his head, and I breathe a sigh of relief.
“Let’s go and get a drink, shall we?” suggests Harlow’s beast, leading us away from Pete.
I glance back one last time; Pete’s empty eyes should fill me with relief, but I feel sadness. I loved him, despite everything, I did love him. It wasn’t all bad between us, he used to be sweet, but his jealousy and possessiveness got worse the more drugs he took. He was an addict when I first met him, I just didn’t realise until it was too late. A month after I’d moved in with him it became apparent that he had a real problem and things had started to decline pretty quickly from there. I’d tried to save up enough money to leave him, but he either always found my stash and blew it on more drugs, or I’d end up using it for food. Then I lost my job as a shop assistant and I was completely dependent on him.
Sophia “What’s up with your miserable face?” asks Harlow, placing a drink in front of me. I’d practised a bit more behind the bar after Jax left with Candy, but then Creep told me to chill for the rest of the night. I think my miserable face was putting the guys off. “I had sex today,” I say, unable to keep from sounding so glum about it. Harlow gasps in surprise. “With Jax,” I add. Her eyes widen and she leans closer. “I thought he scared the shit outta you?” she hisses. “Well he does, but things just happened really quick. Anyway, he instantly regretted it and basically told me to keep it quiet,” I say miserably. “He’s ashamed.” She rolls her eyes. “What did you expect? A lifelong commitment from the president of the Dark Souls? Take it as a win, Sophia, he’s hot, you’re both single and it’s a bit of fun. God knows you need it in your life after everything.” “You didn’t see the way he looked at me. I’ve never felt so . . . used.” I shudder as I picture Jax’s eyes and the look
I stare after her, watching through the window in the door, as she walks across the clubhouse to the bar. Tank is seated there and he turns as she approaches. He’s assessing her, occasionally glancing at the office like he’s expecting me to run out after her. Maybe he’s worked out what we just did. I groan, hating that I’ve screwed him over. I grab the keys to my bike and pull on my leather kutte. I need to get out of here and clear my head. I feel Sophia’s eyes follow me as I sweep through the club house and then I hear Candy’s heels click after me. “Jax, Jax,” she shouts, until I stop and turn to face her. “Fancy company?” I glance at Sophia who’s watching the exchange between us. An ache builds in my chest at what I’m about to do. I give a slight nod, then force myself to hold out my hand until she takes it with a huge grin on her face. Sophia turns her back, busying herself behind the bar, and I lead Candy out to my bike. I don’t want company. I don’t want to be around anoth
We stare at each other for a few seconds, I weigh up the need ripping through me with knowing that Tank wants this girl as much as me. But then her hands begin to untie the knot in her shirt and all I can do is watch helplessly. She pulls it open and the black lace bra taunts me. There’s just enough gap in the material to show the outline of her nipples. “Your turn,” she whispers and I drag my eyes from her breasts to her flushed cheeks. I know I shouldn’t. But I reach for the hem of my t-shirt and rip it over my head before I can change my mind. Her eyes rake over my torso, taking in the tattoo’s that cover every inch of skin. She lifts her hand and it hovers over my toned abs, almost like she’s unsure if she should touch me. I step closer, giving her no choice and she inhales sharply before running her fingers over my skin. She brings her eyes back to mine as her hand flutters down towards the button of my jeans. She pops it open effortlessly, giving me the green light. Our mouth
It’s getting late, I have a shit tonne of paperwork to plough through but the raucous laughter coming from the clubhouse keeps dragging my attention away from business. I throw my pen down and rub my forehead in frustration, maybe I should just go and seewhat’s going on out there and get back to this shit later on when the place is quieter. I throw my pen down and head out to the main room. There’s a crowd of my men at the bar. They’re cheering loudly and I head over to see what all the fuss is about. I’m astounded by the sight before me. Sophia is laid out on the bar whilst a few of the guys do body shots from her stomach. Her shirt is tied into a knot above her pierced navel, and her arms are laid out above her head in a teasing pose. I look around, hoping Tank is witnessing this shit and feels just as pissed about it as me. But when I scan the room, I spot him sitting over the other side talking to Ryker. I head over with my blood pumping, rushing through my veins, ready to burs
When I get back out to the bar, Ryker is still seated there and Harlow as now arrived. “Hey sweetie,” I say giving her a quick hug, it’s great to see a friendly face. “Hey,” she mutters, “Are they treating you good?” I notice she looks sad. I give a nod, “So far, I have zero complaints. My room is nice, I can get food when I want, and I’m surrounded by eye candy.” I add a small laugh to show I’m kidding but she doesn’t return it. “I want an answer, Harlow,” grumbles Ryker, glaring in her direction. “The answer is no,” she snaps. “I let you see her, didn’t I?” he growls. “But she can’t leave yet, when you let her leave, I might change my mind,” she snaps, taking a seat at the bar. He mutters something under his breath about women being a pain in his arse, and then he stomps off to Jax’s office. I lean over the bar, “Wow what were you saying no to?” “He asked me for sex,” My eyes go wide in shock and Harlow nods as if confirming my need to question that statement. “Wow, not
An hour later and I realise just how hard it can be. I’ve messed up a few pints, but practise makes perfect as Creep keeps telling me. He laughs at my failed attempt number six and pours it down the sink. “Ryker, what can I get you?” asks Creep in a cheery tone as Ryker takes a seat at the bar. “Usual,” mutters Ryker. Creep sets about showing me Ryker’s usual, which is easy, a whisky neat. I place it on the bar and Ryker looks up. “Does Pres know you’re behind the bar?” I shrug, “I was bored, I don’t want paying or anything.” There’s a commotion coming from Jax’s office and we all look in that direction as the door swings open and a woman stomps out, followed by Jax. “I asked you and you turned me away for fucking Bea, I’m sick of it Jax,” she screams. “Someone get in here and clean this fucking mess up,” yells Jax. Creep shoves a sweeping brush and dustpan in my hands, and I glare at him, “Me?” He nods, gently pushing me in the direction of Jax’s office. Great, now I’m the sl
