On Sunday, we had lunch at my place. Luckily, after swimming, we both had a good appetite.

In the afternoon, we went to his place to play video games.

“When will the pool be finished here? Do you know?” Brian asked.

“Jenny said in the fall when we come back,” I said. “Unfortunately, I’ll have to spend a day in the gym.”

“I won’t even ask,” he laughed. “She’s definitely going to torture you.”

By the time I got home, Jenny had already arrived and was unpacking.

“I missed you,” I said, wrapping my arms around her. “How did the meeting go?”

“Well,” she said. “They signed the contract.”

“What contract?” I asked, curious.

“Last week, an older couple wanted to buy a hotel, and today they finalized the details.”

“What hotel?” I asked.

“I don’t know—some small countryside hotel,” she said, turning to me. “You’ve probably been there.” She teased.

“Very funny,” I said before kissing her.

“Guess what,” she said. “I got a message on my phone—someone at the store was looking for Amber.”

“Really?” I asked.

“Yeah, apparently she has a very charming little brother,” she laughed. “Any ideas?”

“Depends—have you talked to Amber yet?” I smiled.

“Yes, I put the pieces together pretty quickly,” she laughed. “Amber messaged first, saying the store looked great, and then Tina sent the message.”

“You’re not going to rat me out, are you?” I asked.

“No, but I was thinking of inviting her to our wedding,” she teased.

“You have to say yes first,” I whispered against her lips.

“You have to propose first,” she countered, teasing me with her mouth.

“You have to let me go into a store first,” I said, refusing to back down.

“You have to get my opinion first,” she shot back.

“Damn,” I laughed. “I can’t think of anything.”

“That’s how it is, Messyhair,” she laughed and set the table for the dinner.

“I love you, smart one.” I helped her.

“Tina isn’t what you think,” Jenny noted during dinner. “She runs the store really well and has great insights. I’m really glad I chose her.”

“Then I’m glad,” I said. “And nothing else matters.”

“Amber said I should give her a bonus for handling you all so well,” Jenny laughed. “I’ll be passing by tomorrow, so I’ll just say the month went well. Did you like the food?” she asked while washing the dishes.

“Yes,” I said. “Though Brian and I ended up eating it—Dad wanted to go to a restaurant instead.” That was a sudden excuse, but it worked.

“I figured,” she said. “There weren’t enough utensils in the drying rack.” She really noticed everything—I loved that about her.

“Well, Babe,” I said, stepping behind her, “there’s a bag in the bedroom with two pieces of clothing. Wear them in good health next week.”

“Which days, Messyhair?” she asked, turning around.

“Let’s say tomorrow and Uncle Steve’s day.” I said, settling into my chair and pulling her onto my lap.

“Then I’ll pick those days for you too,” she replied, sitting sideways and ruffling my hair.”We’re meeting everyone at Paul’s on Saturday anyway.”

“Alright, Babe. What do I get?” I asked, turning her to face me.

“You’ll find out tomorrow morning,” she laughed as my hands slid across her perfect curves.

“And what do I get?” she asked back, kissing my neck.

“You’ll see,” I whispered into her ear. “But until then…” I let the moment carry us away. “…you don’t need to wear anything.”

“Yeah, Jenny always sees right through me,” I admitted.“I know, son,” he smiled. “Good luck. I can’t help you—this is between the two of you.” He laughed.“You bet on this too?” Amber asked, sounding exasperated.“She said she’d figure it out,” I muttered, feeling slightly offended. “You don’t think I’m just going to let it go, do you?”“You’re the boss,” Amber rolled her eyes, while our parents laughed.“Is it already sized?” I asked as I held the box. I remembered correctly—it was a stunning ring.“Yes, bro,” Amber smiled. “Dad asked me for one of those bijou rings she wears in photos, so I knew about it—Mom was the only one who didn’t.”

“Unfortunately, it was all for nothing,” I said, disappointed. “It’s no longer in the store, so there’s nothing to show. Does Jenny know you’re here?” I asked.“No,” Dr. Cox replied. “Mickey is at his friend’s place, and Jane left before us.”“I’m sorry about the ring, Jay,” Mrs. Julie said.“Good thing I pay attention to details too—not just Janie,” Dr. Cox laughed, making everyone look at him.“Adam,” Dad chuckled, “I think you should stop teasing them before they kill you tonight.”“Andrew? Adam?” Both mothers asked at the same time.“Ladies,” Dr. Cox said with a smile, reaching into his inner pocket and placing a blue heart-shaped box on the table. &ldquo

The next day, Dad drove us to the apartment, and I showed them around.“It’s not huge, but it’s perfect for the two of us. Thank you,” I said once we settled in the living room.“I see your girlfriend has made it feel like home,” Mom said, looking around.“Yeah, she’s slowly unpacking everything. Will the rent be covered over the summer too?” I asked, since we hadn’t discussed it yet.“As far as I know, it was leased for several years. Adam handled the paperwork,” Dad said.“If no one’s hungry yet,” Dad continued, “we could head to the store.”“Finally, I get to see my own shop,” Amber said excitedly.“Sis,” I said, “I’ve already been inside, but they

On Friday, Jenny drove home after school, pulling into my parents’ driveway just before dinner. The scent of home-cooked food drifted through the open windows, and as she stepped inside, the family was already gathered, waiting with expectant smiles.“Come in,” Brad said, opening the door. “Dinner’s just about ready.”“Good evening,” Jenny greeted everyone and sat across from me at the table—her usual spot. She seemed a little nervous, which was unusual for her lately.“Everything okay, dear?” Dad noticed.“Messyhair said everyone’s coming to visit our apartment tomorrow, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to be there,” she blurted out.“No problem, dear,” Mom reassured her. “Yes, I could only make time now.” So she took resp

I should’ve looked away. Should’ve stood up and left the room. But I couldn’t. She danced like temptation incarnate—teasing, graceful, slow. When she peeled back her sweatshirt and revealed the black corset beneath, I stood.I crossed to her in two strides, hands slipping around her waist.“What do you think you’re doing?” she giggled as I eased her down onto the couch.I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. My fingers were already tugging at her tracksuit, breath shallow. I nearly tore the fabric from her—and my own clothes too—blinded by how much I needed her. She laughed softly, her skin warm under my hands, her smile daring me to break every rule we’d set.“What do you think you’re doing?” she asked again, this time breathlessly, already reacting to my kisses.
