Chapter 23

Johnny’s POV

I noticed that Ciro was sound asleep, leaving only Alessia and me alone. Alessia stared out of the window while I continued typing on my laptop.

"Let's go over everything."

She looked up at me with a raised eyebrow.

"For when we get to my other home."

"Okay."

"Don't ever wander off alone in or out of the house." She looked at me with wide eyes, but I dismissed it and continued, "Always notify Ciro or me when you want to go out, and last but not least, please don't tell my grandmother about anything."

She nodded before biting her lip. "What about your father?"

I looked at her for a second and said, "He's not going to be there; I don't trust him."

She nods and starts fiddling with her fingers, looking out of the window, while I watch her silently.

She suddenly looks up, catching me staring at her, and I notice her blush. Then a small smirk forms on my lips, knowing I have some effect on her.
