The Red Rose

Something about this flower turned me pale, it must be “him” I thought, how did he know where I am?

Has he been keeping tabs on me? I could see detective Emma trying to plead my cause maybe.

The smirk disappeared and he was full of concern.

“Kate” he called as he sat on the chair opposite me, “this is my partner...Kayla” she answered with a smile.

“Every clue counts in this investigation, you have to be honest with us” she said with a tone that gave away her suggestion.

“The flowers?” I asked out of curiosity, the looks in their eyes betrayed their thoughts: “she is really warming up to this.” “Well, that is too personal” I retorted.

“You don’t have to be afraid Kate,” Emma said. “Even if you have another boyfriend apart from Albert it will not conclusively determine that you were involved with Albert’s disappearance.”

I laughed hysterically, that is ridiculous I thought, they must have made it out from Melissa’s accusations.

I could hear the complaints of the officers on duty grumbling about my attitude and swearing that I should better let them have their rest.

“Good morning dear,” was what woke me up from my slumber. I must have slept off during the early hours of the morning.

“Morning Baby,” I said oblivious of the situation. The bewildered look on his face told the story. “Am sorry detective” I said. “I could be clumsy some times.”

I couldn’t help but notice the gaping of his mouth. “Never mind,” I said to make a closure.

“Morning guys, sorry am late, I was held up in a traffic; hope I didn’t miss anything?” “Nothing much” replied Emma to the anxious Kayla.

“We were just catching up” Emma continued with a slight blush. Before they could say anything else they received a call.

“Hello, detective Vin… is the result out… okay I see.”

“Am sorry miss Kate, but you’re under arrest for the suspected kidnapping and murder of Mr Albert Connor-Mckinney; you have the right to an attorney if you can’t hire one, one will be provided for you.”

I could see the pains in their eyes. “What do you mean!?” I shouted, officers am innocent, I kept shouting…
