26 - Family reunion

Going home was the last thing I wanted at that moment. In fact, if I could, I would hole up in the first cave I could find and live there for the rest of the life.

“Wait for me here,” Jaden muttered, stopping between the trees. “I'll get you some clothes.”

I just sat down, feeling the anguish seize me once again. Life had been hard after I turned sixteen, I had missed out on so many good family moments because of my situation and because my parents and siblings were ashamed of me.

Well, not all of them. If I look at it carefully, Peter was the only one who completely distanced himself. Meanwhile, Patrick was never close and at some point after the rejection, the acid jokes started to really hurt.
