HENRY'S POV

"My king, I'm not sure this is entirely advised." The whinny old man shudders and I smirk.

"You wanted me to go to Blue Ivy, we're going to Blue fucking Ivy." I tell him.

"But I didn't say in the middle of the night with no guards or soldiers."

I snort. "Cedric, I trained those soldiers, who would be protecting whom?."

Every soldier has fought me one on one before they are sworn in. I usually do it just for the sake of it, and because my wolf enjoys beating people to a pulp but if they pass or tap out before thirty minutes of sparing, they are cut.

They need to be able to withstand pain, no one of Black Lotus is less of a fighter than I am. Ray was my first combat teacher, he is a brutal fighter and has taught all his soldiers same.

"So are you coming or not?." I ask him with a grin, without thinking about it, his eyes glaze over and he smiles. I nod and turn away for a bit of privacy as he links his mate and family about our trip.

My wolf is restless, happens a lot, I was going for a run - a border patrol when the idea came to me as my wolf kept nudging me out of our pack lands.

"Shall we, my butler?." I ask, willing my wolf to take over, with last orders at Eli and the security team, I sprint away, Cedric hot on my heels.

We didn't stop running for a full day through the thick of the forests and arrived at Blue Ivy the next night. Cedric did his thing and found an inn in human town close to the pack. Blue Ivy is a pack very close to a human town. Some town people are aware of their existence and they are cordial with them, doing business. The Alpha from what I hear owns a few restaurants and hotels in town. My dad would be proud. Humans and werewolves living close without war, he always talked about it.

The next morning, I made sure to wake up before Cedric, or he wouldn't let me go anywhere alone with the fear of getting attacked. And with years of being a butler, he was definitely a early riser. But i was definitely going to make use of the opportunity of being a few days earlier to see the pack in its natural state.

I didn't have a specific destination, I just wanted a feel of the town anonymously without the title of King. Not many people knew me in this parts, I've only ever been once, it's a week journey on foot, four days by car and envoy, so I naturally don't come all the way down, travelling with soldiers always slow me down and make me a spectacle of others.

After a day of merry with local town people, I felt elated but yet antsy as the mating moon draws closer. I left the humans and snuck in pack lands with a few people visiting their restaurants and bars as well. As royalty I am also able to mask my aura when I want to so people aren't too scared of me.

My presence didn't cause any trigger because their pack is also rather close to another pack in the area, so I recon they get a lot of visitors from there. I had a good laugh at the rumors the people of Blue Ivy have of me. Some say I'm a human eating monster, others say I'm a demon not a real person.

They aren't really far off. I had to earn my respect both by fear and kindness, being such a young king at a rough time. Any one caught breaking the rules were killed, brutally.

When I get back to the inn, Cedric gives me a earful for leaving a whole day without him, that I could be assassinated any time. That didn't stop me from leaving even earlier the next day, to scout the borders of the pack, the mountains and access the security. I also heard about the pack high school from people in town and was curious.

The few humans that knew it existed called it a military private school of some sorts, but only our kind attends, apparently those who wants to join my soldiers are trained there, it was a simulator for the real training I would give. Or so they think.

Being so close to humans, Blue Ivy was a mixed pack, unlike Red Fire, some had human mates from what I hear, we had a few too, it wasn't unheard of, but still. I get along well with humans, having lived with them for so long but the rest of Red Fire are still unyielding.

I have also heard rumors that my mate was probably human, or that I left a human lover back in school that's why I don't want a mate. I usually let people say their rumors, so I didn't care to correct them that I attended an all boys school, I could count the number of girls I saw on one hand for the years I spent in the school till I went to college at 15!.

So the pack, its neigbor pack and the humans are closely knitted with business together. Again my father would be proud if he saw them. Although the pack members had their own pack lands and community far away from the humans, in the mountains and forest, they were a beautiful people.

I guessed they wouldn't allow just any wanderer into the pack school. I could reveal my identity, but I wanted to be as anonymous as I could so i disguised as a Teaching assistant and I squeeze my way in. Years in the military again taught how to be very stealthy.

The TA's tag I "borrowed" - Derek was a kid on community service in the school, he had big bully vibes, but it was easy to neutralize him, stuff him in a janitor's closet and steal his ID. He had dark hair like mine, it was good enough.

Pushing the ID in my pocket, I hear the bell ring, but as soon as I turn to leave, a heart beat reached my ears before her scent did. Loud raps of her pounding heart and my nose led me around the hall. Then my eyes widen as I see her.

A trio of human jocks round her up, I frown. She tries to move around them, but one grabs her back pack and her heart beat picks up, two pairs of thumps at a time, I stay and watch even though my wolf wants me to go over and rip their heads off their bodies.

Her scent is strong, but I can not decipher what it is, she is from a Beta family, that much I can tell, but it is also different, something faint I can't quite place, coated with deliciousness, that reminded me of my mom's special Chocolate cookies. Those cookies had every flavor infused and it worked.

My wolf rushes to the surface, and my frown deepens. confused at my own reaction. I push myself off the wall to be the knight and shining armor that I am, until she flings the guy holding her back pack across the room and my jaw falls.

The guy hits the floor with a thud and I see blood seep from his nose, I smirk to myself, suddenly proud. His friend came over to help him up, I let my wolf show through as I walked closer to them. At the sight of me they scamper away with their tails between their legs.

The last one looks like he's a tough cookie, so I pick him up like he's a turkey leg. Ugh, he has a stupid face.

"Hey, hey what the?....." His eyes widen as he sees me.

"Why don't you pick on someone your own size?."

  • KING'S MATE   73. MATING FURY

HENRY'S POVThe nightmare came again. It always started the same way—me as a child, running barefoot through the woods, the shadows stretching long and hungry, the sound of my own breath too loud in my ears. I could hear him behind me, the headless man, his blade scraping against the bark of trees, a jagged whisper of death. My legs burned, my lungs screamed, but I dared not stop.I tripped. The forest melted away.I was home. Sitting in the living room of my childhood house, the scent of stew wafts from the kitchen. My mother laughed softly, speaking to a woman I couldn’t see. The voice was familiar. Warm. Comforting. For the first time in my life, I hear the voice clearlyAzalea. But before I could move, before I could even reach for her, the scene shifted again. This time, the nightmare did not follow its usual course. My father was no longer the one kneeling, begging for mercy. It was her. Bound, bruised, silver hair matted with blood. And standing above her, blade at her throat, wa

  • KING'S MATE   72. NO SAVIOR

AZALEA POV "Don't you dare fucking touch him!" I shouted, my face red with fury. Lexa starts shouting through the duct tape too."No more shit like that, alright?" He grabs my face with force as if trying to break my jawline.I can only glare at him as he breaks into another monstrous smile. The doctor comes once again, this time with a gnash on her face almost matching mine."The doc will check if your blood level is enough for another draw." He announces and leaves. She was quiet while checking my blood and vitals, as she usually is, but I couldn't help myself from asking about her face."I'm sure you didn't decide to match with your patient. Who did that, Kai?"At first she doesn't respond and turns to the guards. "She needs to eat something if she's to survive another draw."I slip a scalpel from her tray as she talks to him. If we were to have any chance of escaping this place, I need some kind of weapon."If you do not cooperate, it affects us all." She whispers shakily to me as

  • KING'S MATE   71. LAST DOCTOR

AZALEA'S POV"Azzy, what's going on?" Lexa asks in a serious tone after the evil doctor leaves. I was sure we were being watched, so I didn't want them to suspect a thing."Do you know where Justin is?" I ask instead, shaking my head."On our way here, I noticed a room just like the one I was in with two hefty men guarding it, so I guess."I nodded furiously. "Lexa, look at me, things are definitely not how they used to be, everything we thought we knew." Tears gathered in my eyes. Everything I thought I knew was unfolding right in front of my own eyes. It was scary. I just had to trust that I could keep myself and my siblings alive like Mum and Dad told me to if Henry also decides to betray me as a sacrificial lamb."I'm so sorry I failed to protect you, but I promise I will get us out of here alive.""I don't understand, Azzy. What are you talking about? What was Kai saying?" She asks, still sobbing"Kai is no longer who we think he is." She nods, seeming to have gathered that much b

  • KING'S MATE   70. WAR ACCESS

HENRY'S POV Shaking my head with amusement. "Still the same hotheaded bastard, I see." I smirked and clasped Gray’s forearm in an elongated weird handshake I didn't think I remembered that we made up when we were kids. "Still the same arrogant prick." I looked around quickly for Eli, its best I keep these two apart for a while. Gray chuckled before my eyes landed on the woman beside him. She had bright brown eyes and an air of quiet confidence. My brows lifted. "Your mate?" Gray in a manner I've never seem him before stammered, avoiding eye contact and the girl—Emma, I assumed—cleared her throat. I crossed my arms. "Oh, this is interesting." They have definitely fucked. I arch an eyebrow at Gray laughing. He sighed as she gagged at my eyebrow, pulling me aside. "It’s…..Uh complicated. But listen, Emma has rare abilities. She saved my life, Henry. And she might be able to help us." "Help how?" Gray’s expression darkened. "She gets visions. She sees things others can’t." Emma gi

  • KING'S MATE   69. CAUTIONED CHAOS

HENRY'S POVI sat at the edge of my desk, my fingers pressing into my temples as I stared at the glowing map and countless computer screens before me. My eyes burned from lack of sleep, but I couldn't stop. I wouldn't stop.Azalea was out there, suffering, and I was stuck here, unable to do anything.I used to take huge pride in my collection of super computers with accuracy of 0.00001 to trace even the tiniest signals. I personally designed the tech lab myself, I gathered only the best from all around the world, Eli and the rest of the tech team are the very best among werewolves.Yet when it truly matters, the best computers and the best tech team can't seem to trace one person. Right now, as I stared and listened for the continuous chime and beeping from over 50 computers in every corner of the 1500 square feet lab I wanted to smash everything into tiny balls and set it all on fire.My frustration boiled over, and I slammed my fist against the table, the sound echoing through the ro

  • KING'S MATE   68. MONSTER GOD

AZALEA'S POVMy breath hitched, my heart hammering violently against my ribs as I tried to process the impossible. Kai. My brother. And yet, he stood there, grinning like a madman, his red eyes gleaming under the dim lights. The once familiar warmth in his gaze had been replaced by something dark, twisted, malevolent."K-Kai?" My voice was hoarse, cracking under the weight of my disbelief. "How are you.....alive?." I puased to ask. Till now, I had thought he was in the fight that night of the attack. I remember dad saying something about calling him. I didn't know if he died or survived, but Ryder had assured me that no one alive was left behind in the pack. His sinister smirk only widened as he stepped closer. "Oh, sister, don't look so surprised, I was never truly gone," he taunts, stepping closer. "Did you really think you were the only one who survived?"."Something was deeply wrong. My instincts screamed at me to get away, to fight, to do anything but remain vulnerable before him
