The first thing I notice when I wake up is that Kaden is not in bed. I reach over to find cold sheets on his side of the bed. I was released from the hospital yesterday, and he said he would work from home for the rest of the week. So the fact that he is not in bed is weird. I looked at the clock; it was after nine, so I figured he would be out in the living room. When I walk out into the main living area, I suddenly realize that I am home alone. I grab something to eat and sit down on the couch. My mind starts to conjure up all the reasons that Kaden was not here when he said he would be. I jump when my phone goes off, letting me know there is a text message.
