Kaelith fell silent for a moment after I asked. His hands were still gripping the steering wheel tightly, but our car began to slow down slightly. It was as if he were holding back from speaking.

I knew he was hiding something, and he had to tell me.

“Don’t hide anything you know from me anymore,” I said to him.

The car pulled over to the side of the road, and then Kaelith turned to look at me.

“I didn’t mean to hide it from you,” he finally said, “but I was just waiting for the right time

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   The Delayed Curse

The light in this room had been dim since we arrived, but now it was pitch black. A few lights were flickering, and a draft was coming in through the cracks in the broken window. From outside, I could see the moonlight beginning to change, turning a deep red.“How could there be a blood moon tonight? Isn’t it supposed to be tomorrow?” I said softly. I covered my mouth again, trying to stop myself from coughing, but it was in vain. The burning sensation in my throat now felt like it was scorching from the inside, spreading all the way to my chest.“Kael…” my voice was so faint, barely audible.Kaelith hugged me tighter, I could feel his hands trembling. He wasn’t just afraid of losing me, he was also holding back his anger. For now, Kaelith’s power seemed sealed away; he couldn’t do much, and Red felt far superior.“I’m here, Vaelora, hold on,” Kaelith whispered to me.But all I could feel was my body growing weaker. The pain had spread throughout my entire body, and it felt as if some

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   Bound For A Long Time

I fell silent, Kaelith couldn’t hold back his emotions toward me any longer. I knew he was worried about me, but I was hiding this for his own good as well. My breath felt heavy, my throat stinging again as if burning from within. Kaelith’s anxious gaze made my chest feel even tighter. I couldn’t bear to see the man I loved hurt. “Ah, finally. I’ve been waiting for this moment,” said Red, giving me a faint smirk. “Shut up! Don’t you dare interfere,” Kaelith snapped at Red. Red just chuckled, he was different from when we first met. This time, he was bolder and more annoying. My hands began to tremble. Finally, I looked at Kaelith… the man who had been trying to protect me all this time, even sacrificing himself for me. “Kael… I did see something, and it started on the very first day after I met you, the night after our meeting in the archives.” Kaelith’s expression changed instantly. His face tensed, his eyes never leaving mine. “What was it?” "I saw your past at

“I didn’t mean to hide it from you,” he finally said, “but I was just waiting for the right time to tell you.” I could see the uncertainty on his face, it wasn’t like him at all. Lately, he’d been acting like this a lot. Sometimes he looked sad and very anxious. “Just tell me, honey. If this has anything to do with everything that’s happened, then I have a right to know,” I said again. Kaelith leaned back, taking a moment to breathe before finally turning to face me again. “Saga… doesn’t seem like an ordinary human,” he said. I furrowed my brow in surprise, this fact was quite shocking

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   Is Saga dangerous too?

“How is it different, Kael?” I asked him.Kaelith took a brief breath; I could sense a change in the aura of his face, which usually looked cold and somewhat somber.“It’s as if something that had been frozen for a long time is slowly thawing. Could it be that parts of my body have been bound by time all this while, making me seem like an immortal?”Maybe this is indeed a positive development for Kaelith, but if he manages to become human again, there are many things I wonder about. Will his age, which has been frozen for nearly four hundred years, have certain consequences? What if he becomes human again, but his body is instead consumed by time as a punishment from the universe? Then there’s Red… if Kaelith becomes human without the ritual, I’m afraid Red will merge with him again. Then Kaelith will be completely controlled.“Isn’t that a good thing?” I finally spoke up again, though I felt a bit hesitant.“No, if we don’t completely destroy Red, then my transformation is meaningles

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   Is Kaelith Getting Warm Again?

Kaelith has never been like this before; I never expected him to be so much like Red. I guess it’s because Red is a part of him.Kaelith slowly backed away, clutching his head and closing his eyes as if in pain. Meanwhile, I could feel the heat rising in my neck again, all the way up to my throat. Is someone trying to hurt me? I can’t take it anymore.“Let’s go to the hospital now, Vaelora, come on,” Kaelith looked at me, his eyes back to normal.I wasn’t aware of what happened after that, because I lost consciousness as soon as I stepped out of the room.I woke up in the hospital; my hand was hooked up to an IV, and I could see Kaelith’s head resting beside me—he was asleep, sitting up. My body shifted slightly because I felt so stiff. My slight movement woke Kaelith; he immediately looked at me in panic.“H-how do you feel? Does it hurt? Should I call the doctor?”“No, I’m fine, Kaelith. It’s just… my neck still hurts.”Kaelith let out a long sigh, then clasped my hand tightly, kiss

  • Kael's Chosen Girl   Getting Worse

Things are looking up at Kaelith’s house now; the broken door has been fixed, and Simon is cleaning up the traces of the ritual in the backyard. Our room is tidy again, just like before, though I’m still afraid the threat might return. Red is unpredictable. “Take off your shirt,” Kaelith ordered me; he’d already brought ointment for the bruise on my neck. I sat on the bed; his command sounded a bit ambiguous, and I hesitated slightly before doing it. “Vaelora, it’ll be difficult if you don’t do this—we also need to see if the bruise is spreading again or not.” “A-Alright, I’ll do it.” First, I tied my long hair back, pulling it up so it wouldn’t cover my neck. Then I unbuttoned my shirt; Kaelith didn’t say a word. Soon, I felt the cool touch of his hands as he began applying the ointment to my bruise. I winced—it stung a little, but I had to endure it because this injury couldn’t be left untreated. I could hear Kaelith’s breath; he had finished applying the ointment all the w
