Chapter 2 

(Being a hunter)

Rioka was gazing at the entrance of the town thathe was about to go in. He stopped for a moment and closed his eyes.

"There are 4 of them. All weak demons." He spoke calmly.

The townsfolk are happily interacting while others are buying necessary things. Suddenly Rioka entered the town. The people immediately stared at him and bluntly looked at him.

"You think you can hide in that body?" Rioka whispered.

Rioka suddenly disappeared. Four of the townsfolk are striked and cut down in an instant. The people panicked and started to run. But the corpseof the four humans gradually changed. A form of a demon is exposed in front ofthe people, thus clearing their confusion about Rioka.

"All of you have been living with these demons fora while. And these demons fed on you everyday. Remember, other demons can hide themselvesin a form of human, which makes them unnoticed over time." Rioka spoke bravely.

The townspeople sighed and thanked Rioka for slaying these demons among them.

"A group of warriors will come here within two days.Please stay alert in that time to avoid any casualties." Rioka spoke.

"Yes, we will." The town leader immediately agreed.

After the chaos, Rioka went ahead. Suddenly the man in a black hood appeared.

"I'm right all along." The man said while smiling. 

"Right for what?" Rioka asked.

"That the organization supposedly gave you the rank3. But I clearly do not understand why they reduced it to 13." The man spoke in confusion.

"That doesn't matter anyway. As long as I'm a warrior."Rioka answered directly. 

"Bold words you got there. Anyway, your next mission lies at the Spillwood. Couple of warriors gather there for the execution of one warrior.But the problem is, that warrior fought back and killed almost half of the group. And that warrior is a former number 6." The man then leaves in silence.

Rioka's face was untold,and capped with fear. He knows who that warrior is, that's why he bravely walks the path to Spillwood to slay an oldfriend.

On his way, he encountered numerous demons but he was able to easily dispose of them. He then reached the Spillwood, where countless corpses were exposed to Rioka's eyes. But he didn't hesitate to walk and head to the flashing sound of swords not too far

.

"Look out!" A warrior screamed. As the warrior tried to evade the shining sword. He was cut down and pierced to pieces.

 Another warrior was about to perish but Rioka was on time to block the incoming attack.

"What took you so long?" A fallen warrior spoked.

"Tell the injured warrior to withdraw for the moment."Rioka answered.

"Are you insane? We are clearly at disadvantaged right now. Toshiro is way too powerful for us. And what the hell did the organization send? Arank 13 wouldn't be any help!" The warrior spoke with confusion.

Rioka's faced was dark and untold. He drew his sword and launched an attack to the enemy. They both clashed sword staring at each other.

"It's been a while Rioka." The enemy man with a scar on his chest spoke. 

"Yeah, it's been a while." Rioka answered.

The two continue to cross swords as they greet themselves.

"Toshiro, why do you keep on resisting?" Rioka asked.

" I don't want to die just yet." Toshiro answered while struggling to block Rioka's attack.

The two step back as they prepare themselves for the next wave.

" Toshiro, I'm going to get serious. Brace yourself."Rioka's faced blacked out.

"Alright then, likewise I'm going all in. But at this moment, I'll get easily cut down if I keep going like this. Since, I'm a criminal, might as well embrace it." Toshiro began to release all his ryuk and let it go berserk, forcing his body toawaken.

The warriors in the area were forced to withdraw,because the ryuk of Toshiro grew stronger and it became agile. This is the beginning of another wave of the enemy's power. Toshiro changed gradually and he became an awakened demon with a surging power and a hunger for flesh.

"Are you serious? An awakened demon?" A warrior spoke with confusion.

"This is the fate of warriors who have a lust forpower. They become demons or awakened demons which are originally warriors." Another warrior responded.

The other warriors gulp as they witnessed the power of an awakened demon.

"Now Rioka, let's continue." Toshiro with an emotionless face and a full changed body spoke. 

"You look ugly, and more weak." Rioka responded while staring at Toshiro in a tiger like body but with a spike in his back and long tail capped with a sting like edge. Toshiro is huge compared to an average tiger.

Rioka braced himself as Toshiro launched an attack so fast that Rioka's shoulders were sliced. Rioka's eyes turned scarlet red and this time he quickly evaded Toshiro's attack.

"Now that's better." Toshiro spoke excitedly.

 Toshiro then again attacked Rioka with all his might and speed. He was certain that his attack would finish off the wounded Rioka. But out of thin air, Rioka is above Toshiro launching a heavy attack packed with speed. This way, Toshiro will not be given a chance to evade. Toshiro notices the image of Rioka in front of him to be a mirage.

"Well looks like you got me this time." Toshiro smiled while watching himself being cut down by his friend. Rioka's tears fell down to the fallen comrade with hope after the fierce battle.

"Amazing, he single handedly defeated an awakened demon by himself. A rank 13, splendid!" A warrior spoke in a surprised way.

"Impossible, I've never seen a mid rank defeated a rank 6 in an awakened state!" Another warrior compliment.

After the battle, Rioka immediately left with no words to the other warriors. He walked straight and disappeared.

"Something is wrong." A warrior spoke. 

"What do you mean?" Another warrior asked. 

"After witnessing all that fierce battle between anawakened demon and a mid rank warrior. It's clear that a warrior is not just a mid rank.Judging by what happened just now. His combat ability is higher than that of rank 5. I'm not sure if I'm correct but, why did the organization send a rank 13 to aid us, when the threat level is high even for rank 6 and below." The warrior thought deeply.

The group of warriors then left with a confusing thought about what really happened.

Meanwhile,

Rioka arrived at a small village, when suddenly the man in black appeared.

"That was quite a show back there." The man smiled. 

"You were watching?" Rioka asked.

"You could say that. Anyway, the North land was very aggressive these past days. And it's possible that Leomord is on his move. And the south land is also waging war against the north. It's also possible that Selena and Leomord will have a quiet fight. That's why the organization divided the warriors into two groups,one to the north and the other is to the south. You on the other hand will have another mission.You will be monitoring the movement of the other two abyssal demons, see if they will try to take this opportunity to attack the base. Well Teresa will also accompany you."The man in black then left with no words.

Rioka was left with no words and kept silent while thinking his way of resolving this incoming calamity.
