Engagement

Andrea had no choice but to go to the last place she ever wanted to return to. Her parents’ house.

She arrived at her parents’ mansion and immediately she walked in, her stepfather rushed out with her mother trailing behind him.

“Get out! Get out of my house, you are not welcome here!” he screamed at her as he walked towards her. In fear, Andrea took steps back from him.

“Please, please. I have nowhere else to go.” she cried and pleaded. Her mother just stood and watched.

Her mother never says anything about how her stepfather treats her. She lets him do whatever he wants.

“I don't care. You have disgraced this family. Everyone in the city is calling you a whore!”

“You are ungrateful! I gave you a great life, you married a great man and… “

“You sold me!” Andrea cut him off.

“You sold me to your best friend’s child and you were actually paid for it,” she screamed in tears and her stepfather scoffed in disbelief.

“You are ungrateful. You are fucking ungrateful., get out of my house!” he yelled at her and Andrea looked at her mother.

“Mum, say something. I am your daughter, you should help me.” Andrea said and her mother gulped a little before speaking.

“Leave, Andrea,” she said and Andrea screamed in frustration.

“I am your daughter, the only child you have!” she screamed at her but got no response.

She knew yelling won't help and would only make things worse so she fell to her knees in tears.

“I’m pregnant.” she whimpered.

“I’m pregnant and I have nowhere to go,” she added and looked up at them in tears.

“Get out of my house.” Her father ordered and Andrea cried and rubbed her palms together, pleading.

“Mum, please. I’m scared. I don't have anywhere to go and I have nothing. The Blackmores took everything from me.” she cried but her pleas were ignored as her parents walked into the house.

“Please. I have nowhere to go!” Andrea screamed in tears.

She slowly stood up and walked out of the house. This was it, it’s over. There is no hope for her.

She has no life anymore.

It slowly started to rain and Andrea did not attempt to take cover.

She cried loudly, walking in the rain. She walked on the street aimlessly.

Andrea was not conscious of her steps and environment. She heard a loud honk snapping her out of her thoughts and before she could blink, the car hit her and she fell.

Distant yells and sirens were all Andrea heard before blacking out.

Lewis sat on the bed and ran his hand through his hair repeatedly as he thought about Andrea. Not like he cares or anything or he wants to take her back.

He just wondered why his mother had to lie so much to get rid of her but it's for the best, right?

He doesn't love Andrea and he is sure he never will. There isn't any point staying married to her if his first love is back. Allison.

He loves Allison so much and everyone knows that. He will do anything for Allison.

“What are you thinking about?” he heard her soft voice ask as she wrapped her arms around him from behind.

“Nothing.”

The engagement party ended hours ago and they went back to his place.

“Is this about your cheating wife?” she asked and all Lewis did was chuckle.

He knows Andrea didn't cheat. Andrea is naive and doesn't have the balls to do anything.

Lewis was about to give a response when she kissed his neck.

He relaxed a bit and enjoyed it. He couldn't take the teasing anymore and he turned to her then flipped her over which caused a giggle from her.

He kissed her softly and was about to take off her dress when they heard his phone ring.

Allison pulled away so he could answer but he didn't want to.

“It's nothing, I will answer it later,” he told her and resumed kissing her again. He moved his hand under her nightwear and she moaned softly.

The phone rang again and Allison tried her best to ignore it till it stopped ringing. Immediately it stopped, it rang again.

“Please, just answer it,” she said in frustration as she pulled away from him.

Lewis groaned a little upset and picked up his phone from the corner of the bed then sat up. He was surprised to see it was their family doctor calling.

He hesitated for a few seconds, thinking before answering the call.

“This better be important,” Lewis said.

“Mr. Blackmore, your wife is in the hospital. She got into an accident,” he said and Lewis furrowed his brows.

“Huh?”

“Mrs. Andrea, sir,” he replied and Lewis chuckled.

“Gerald I know you can see everything going on in the fucking internet and you know that is not my wife anymore so why the hell are you calling me?!” Lewis asked angrily.

“Because I believe you are her emergency contact and you also need to be here for a different reason. Please, Mr. Blackmore. I beg you.” the doctor pleaded which got Lewis confused.

“Why? Why is it so important for me to be there? What is the different reason? Whatever it is, I don't care. She isn't my wife anymore.” Lewis replied.

“Mr. Blackmore, if it isn't important I wouldn't ask you to be here. Can you just show up because of me?” the doctor pleaded further and Lewis sighed.

All he did was end the call and run his hand through his hair.

“What’s wrong?” Allison asked.

“I have to go to the hospital, Andrea is there. She got into some kind of accident,” he said as he stood up and started to get dressed.

“Oh, okay. I will come with you then,” she replied, getting up to get dressed.

“No, you shouldn't. I don't think it's a good idea to… “

“I am going with you to that hospital, Lewis and there is nothing you can do to stop me.”
