Chapter 03

Aria’s perspective

They surrounded me, and I could feel the sharp fingers on my thighs by one of the huge men in black.

He smirked and lifted a finger on my chin. “How did you get here?” He asked me directly now, he had been standing without saying a word for a while.

I tried to take a step back but bumped into one of the men. He grinned, showing off his upper teeth.

I swallowed hard, and the man in front of me chuckled darkly. His fingers trailed down from my jaw to my collarbone. “She will do it for the night. Pretty human.”

“I...I...” I was sputtering. My head was spinning from the drink I had earlier, I couldn’t walk properly or point out exactly where I was and I couldn’t speak before these men. I have no idea who they were or what they could do to me.

I couldn’t find Hadley either, all I wanted was to have fun and this wasn’t the fun that I wanted.

“Should we take her?” The one behind me asked.

The man in front of me, I noticed that he had a red tie on his black sleeves.

Who wears that to a club? And why can’t I find Hadley anywhere? “Let me go,” I whispered.

“What did you say?” He lowered his head with a devilish smirk plastered on his face.

“You’re looking this sexy and hot for us, why should we let you go?” He taut. He heard what I said, and brought his fingers back to my chin.

His other hand touched my bare arm, and the look in his eyes dilated with satisfaction.

I shivered under his touch, the light in the club was dimmed, and I could barely see their faces.

Then, he grabbed my hand and pulled me into his chest.

“Take your hands off her.” A deep baritone spoke in a hard voice.

“She’s ours and...” The man who grabbed me retorted. “She’s a fucking human, there’s no need for her here and I didn’t force her.” He rasped to the strange man. I saw his long legs in blue pants, and feet covered in a loafer.

“I said take your hands off.”

I didn’t know what was happening, I whimpered under the sound of his voice. What if something happens if he hands me over to this man?

The man who held me grumbled under his breath, and he wasn’t letting go of his grip on my hand.

The stranger took a step closer to us, and the two men that were behind me stepped back.

“I won’t say another word, and I will make you face the consequences for disobeying me, Jeff.” The tone of his voice got harsher with each passing minute.

Jeff scoffed, he was the man holding me. “Because I have a human girl? She’s not supposed to be here and you know the punishment for a human that walked in here.”

“If you have been reckless in your duty she won’t have found her way into the upper room.”

“That’s why I want to teach her a lesson and she won’t be able to escape here.” Jeff countered.

I felt a hand grab me and pull me away from Jeff knocking him down with just his elbow. Jeff groaned, and he stroked him again. “What were you going to do to her?”

“What I should have done to a prey.” Jeff gritted his teeth.

The stranger held his throat, and I took the opportunity to hide behind the broad shoulders of the stranger.

“I would have cut off your balls.” That was a threat, and Jeff didn’t seem to take it lightly that the stranger was siding with me.

“Take him away.” He sounded angry as he let go of Jeff.

When he turned, I dragged a few feet back from him. He exhaled, leveled himself to my eye level, and made contact with me.

He has the deepest blue eyes I have ever seen. “Are you hurt?” His eyes went over my body, examining my body if I had any bruises from my encounter with those men.

There was a slight bruise on my wrist where Jeff held me, and he saw it.

There was a cut on my thigh as well where I had felt those sharp nails.

He straightened himself, and I staggered on my feet, his hand quickly grasped my waist and pulled me close.

I closed my eyes and opened them slowly. His sharp brows are knotted together as if he were contemplating something. His intense gaze on my face, made me feel as if I was gonna melt in his arms.

I got to see his face a little, his thin lip twitched. “What did you drink?”

His eyes were clouded with worry, and chiseled his jawline was held tight.

“You shouldn’t have taken that.” He added and placed a hand on my forehead.

I was in shock, the softness of his hand on my forehead, and the calmness in his voice when he spoke to me.

I blinked my eyes and snapped out of it. I pushed his hand away from my head, and he gently took his hand off my waist when I regained my balance.

What was wrong with the drink? It was the same thing that Eason had, I don’t think there was anything wrong with it.

“You should sit.” He brought out a chair and made me sit on it.

“You don’t tell me what to do!” I snapped at him in my drunkenness.

“For someone that shouldn’t be here.”

“I was with my friend Hadley, we had a drink here, and I went to the restroom and couldn’t find her.” I tried not to cry, and now I was with a good-looking stranger.

He squatted in front of me.

“Ssh. I will take care of your bruise.” He took off my heels. Then, he looked up and caught me staring at him. “I will find your friend, Hadie...”

“Hadley.” I corrected.

He hummed. “But for now, let me take care of you mate.” He scooped me from the chair into his arms.
