Neon’s perspective
My chest was heavy from my pent-up anger, and the veins on my forehead were visible. My wolf had been restless since the evening the mating ritual started.
It has kept us on the edge, Jax was nervous, and I don’t know what it was. He was never the one to show any emotions. He was showing emotions that I couldn’t decipher, and it was starting to agitate me.
The mating ceremony started in the upper room in Vegas Bar, I arranged for security and no one could come except a member of my pack but we lived in New York City and among humans who didn’t know about our identity as werewolves since we were in disguise.
Vegas Bar was one of the businesses I had a partnership with.
For some hours now, I have been pent up than usual. Something about today felt strange.
I took a lighter and decided to smoke on the balcony.
I wheezed the smoke into the air and rolled up my sleeve. There’s no way I could let Jax out, not tonight.
‘It's mate! I have a feeling she’s close. I have never felt this way before. She’s close. Mate is here.’ Jax purred.
‘What did you just say? Mate!’
How was that possible?
I have been looking for my mate for the past ten years, but I haven’t found her.
What the fuck was Jax talking about, that mate was here?
‘That’s not possible. She can’t be here.’
‘I can sense her, Neon.’ He growled in my head.
I was about to sniff the air like a hound dog in the bar when my Beta Silas came to me and tapped me over the shoulders.
“Alpha the ritual has already started. Everyone is looking for you.”
“Now?” I frowned at him.
“Yes.”
I was the leader of the werewolves in the city, and we were about a hundred around the city, and Silas knows when he had to call me an Alpha.
I tossed the cigarette off and rolled down my sleeve. I walked back to the room with Silas and that was when I got the scent.
Jax purred in my head to prove that he was right.
The scent was becoming so strong inflicting our senses to go high on alert, and lost control.
Could what Jax said be true?
Why couldn’t I find her ever since?
I had so many questions.
I couldn’t speak.
I want to see her now.
“Where is she?” I yelled at Silas. He was startled at the sound of my voice.
I couldn’t control myself as my wolf surged forward, my eyes turning red, and growled in his face. “Where is mate?”
Silas lowered his eyes and bowed, submitting to my wolf.
“Boss, I don’t know what...”
I grab him by the neck and hold him above the ground, my anger coming in waves. My wolf was in control of my body, and it made it a bit difficult for me to take control back.
We’ve searched everywhere for a mate for the past years. When we turned eighteen, what we wanted to do was find our mate.
We traveled around because of it, we wanted to find her and rule as Alpha and Luna, but years passed and I lost hope.
I never found her and slowly slipped into thirty years of depression of not having my mate.
We gave up and stopped searching for her. We were going to make Diana a permanent Luna in the pack and take her as my chosen mate after the mating ritual.
But now I can sense my mate, she was so close.
Silas is thrashing with my hold. I release him, cursing at my wolf for not being able to keep his anger in check.
My claws went back to normal, and my eyes changed back to blue.
“Is your mate here, Alpha?” Silas whispered.
I nodded and ruffled my hair.
I could sense her, she was around her.
“I didn’t know that.” He replied quietly.
I sensed her when we entered the upper room in the bar.
“Look around for anything usual and inform me about it,” I ordered.
He bowed and left. I sighed and slammed my fist on the table.
‘She’s here.’ I heard Jax in my head again.
‘Fuck.’ I groaned.
I was getting anxious, though I hadn’t even seen her yet.
I started to look around the themed bar that we were using for our mating ritual between werewolves. The color of our pack was black, and that was why most of my members had black outfits.
I froze when her eyes met with mine just for a brief moment.
My mind was in a complete freak-out, I was nervous. I, Alpha Neon have never been nervous.
My wolf and I have never thought this day would come when we would see mate.
It made me bitter for years that I couldn’t find my soulmatewhen others found theirs, I had to organize a mating ritual every year, still mate less.
Because of it, I ruled the pack with an iron fist, and a cold heart, having no mate it was easier for me to do reckless things because there was no one to get hurt except me.
Standing some distance away was like the perfect thing I had ever seen.
But...
She was being harassed by Jeff and his men.
I growled and made my way towards them.
When I got close to them, her smells of vanilla and roses were intoxicating.
‘She’s my mate.’ Jax spit out in dominance.
My hands were starting to sweat as I made a replied to my wolf. ‘I can’t believe she’s here.’
I felt the urge to kill those men right here but I couldn’t do that in front of mate.
She looked so frightened.
How dare Jeff touch her?
When she turned and stared at me. Her big round cinnamon eyes looked so beautiful, her small face and defined figures in that short dress were perfect.
She was probably in her early twenties.
I don’t want to see any male wolf close to her or human except me.
I was towering over her, and I wanted to have her body squeezed against mine.
I want her.
All of her.
But Jax and I couldn’t feel her wolf.
And she had no idea who I was to her.
My eyes not leaving her face for a moment.
I was scared, she would disappear if I did.
‘She has no wolf.’ Jax confirmed my thoughts.
If she has no wolf, that only means my mate was human.
Humans were considered weak, and our pack was against having humans with us. Humans were never allowed in the pack. It has been so for hundreds of years we never got mated with humans, they were simply for pleasure.
I have a mate, she was human.
It sounded so unbelievable.
Why would the Moon Goddess give me a human mate? When it has never been heard that werewolves were mated to humans in my pack.
I hated that she was not my species. Why was my mate, not a wolf?
With the innocence in her eyes, she had no idea she was in a mating ritual with werewolves.
I was furious with the feeling that she was human.
I clenched my jaw and marched towards Jeff and his men.
I won’t spare him from hurting her.
After dealing with Jess, I took my little mate to a room in the bar and placed her on the bed gently. What she drank was a mixture of werewolves alcohol drink, it was strong for a human like her.
I lay her head against the pillow and treated the cut on her thigh and her bruised wrist. She had passed out in my arms.
I moved closer, and brushed her hair off her face, staring down at her, my hand rested on her cheek, and I called her affectionately.
“Mate.”
Aria's perspectiveI didn’t know what was going on, and why was Diana missing but I was too tired to get up from the bed, my eyes felt heavy and I needed more nights of sleep.I brought one of the pillows close to my chest and wrapped my hand around it since Neon wasn’t in the room.My stomach grumbles as if I hadn’t eaten a while ago. After a while of tossing around, I eventually fell asleep. When I woke up, I was alone in the bed, and it felt as if something was hanging on my throat. I rushed out of bed into the bathroom and threw up on the toilet. My hand gripped the toilet seat and vomited everything that I ate last night.I flushed it down the toilet and splashed water on my face on the faucet. I washed my mouth as well and came out of the bathroom.“I was about to open the door, are you okay?” Neon was standing there with a towel in his hand.“Did you throw up?”“Yes.” I sighed.“I didn’t see you on the bed when I woke up.”“I left early, there was an emergency you were sleeping
Silas' perspectiveThe moment I went down the stairs with Rufus in my hand, we found Diana at the bottom of the stairs. She froze when she saw me, and her jaw dropped to the ground. She took a step down the stairs.Probably she wanted to eavesdrop to know what would become of me since the Alpha had caught on.I pulled Rufus along and met with her. “You will have a word with the Alpha soon. I won’t come for you now, Diana. Give me some time when I have gathered enough evidence, I will make you regret every choice you’ve made.” I whispered to her ears when I was close to her.I saw her fist cleaned, and her face was filled with fear and anger. She said nothing, there was nothing for her to say knowing that she had been caught.I pulled Rufus along, and out of the house. I could feel her eyes behind us, till we were out of the house.I handed Rufus to the prison guard and made sure he was watched and they won’t leave his side for a minute.I hurried to the Pack hospital. I needed a Pack D
Neon's perspectiveHer eyes snapped to my face, she took a step closer to me. “Neon.” She muttered in shock.“What do you mean I should leave, where would I go? Neon you know I have nowhere to go, this is my only home.”“Then you should have thought about your actions!” I raised my voice at her.“It was just sleeping pills you gave Aria, it could be poison next, and then what, you would kill her!” I was struggling to keep my wolf in check, we had just come from a long day at the meeting and came home to meet this.“Neon, no...” She shook her head as if she was going to justify her actions.“I didn’t know what came over me.”I huffed. “You didn’t know?”“I did.” She replied.“Are you messing with me now? The guards told me you planned this, you carefully made this plan and got the necessary things that you need, and you don’t know what came over you?”She fell on her knees, clasped her hands together, and cried. “I’m sorry, Neon.”“It’s Alpha!” I corrected her.“Alpha Neon please, I won
Neon's perspectiveI didn’t understand what was going on, I wanted to see my mate, Aria. If anything had happened to her, I made my way to the bed after picking up the duffle bag that I dropped. I dropped it on the floor beside the bed.My hand touched her hair and down to her face, she was breathing but her eyes were shut. She wasn’t having any clothes on, they must have stripped off from the dress she wore. I clenched my fist beside me and stared at Silas. “Who made my mate like this? Which of you strip her?”“It wasn’t me!” The guard who was on his knees immediately shouted. I tore my gaze off Silas when he was about to speak.“Who did?”“It was Luna Diana, Alpha. She was the one who took off her dress. We had only carried her into the room. We didn’t do anything else.” He rushed his words.I nodded, trying to understand why Diana would do such a thing. What was she planning that she had my mate involved in it?“And what are you doing here Silas?”“I already explained what happened
Silas' perspectiveMy eyes fluttered open after a while, I groaned and felt a hand pulling me. I opened my eyes fully and saw a guard pulling me along to the bed.“Fuck, why is he so heavy!” He grunted and dragged me forward. What was going on?And what was the headache that I felt earlier?I hit his hand off my body, and he jolted forward. I saw the shock on his face when he noticed that I was awake.“Why did you bring me here?”“B-Beta?” He sputtered as if lost for words.“Speak!” I shouted. Why did he bring me into Neon’s bedroom when I was talking with Diana earlier at the bar section?I glanced across the bed quickly. Aria was on the bed with the covers on. I darted my gaze away from her body when I saw that her shoulders were bare. What the fuck happened when I passed out?I stared at the other guard who was hiding behind the door and pulled him out of there. I slammed his back on the wall. “You will speak now or I will slit your throat!” I threatened. The other guard who had car
Diana's perspectiveWhen I left Neon in his study room, I couldn’t go back to sleep. If I don’t act fast, I might end up losing everything, and Neon would find out.If he does, that would be the end of me and I couldn’t let that happen.I paced around my bed, thinking of what I should do, and Silas was on my tail too. If the rogue gets caught, I will be in so much trouble, and it’s not gonna end well.I sighed and sat down on the bed after pacing back and forth for a long time.I bite my nails while thinking of what to do, I had to come up with a plan else it gonna be hell.Neon won’t believe anything I say, that it was all Aria’s fault that all of this was happening, he seemed as if he was bewitched by her and won’t think Aria could be of any wrong or anything was her fault.I hurriedly picked up my phone when it rang, and answered it.“Hello...” I said on the phone while waiting for the receiver to respond. He didn’t say anything for over a minute.“Can you hear me?”“Heard one of my
