MasukBlade's pov
“I wasn’t joking when I said I would wipe out your entire generation,” I said, keeping the gun pointed directly at her.
She was hyperventilating now, her whole body trembling. She covered her mouth with both hands, desperately trying to stop herself from screaming.
I watched her for a moment before making a small gesture toward one of my men.
He immediately stepped forward. “Show her where the next bullet is going if she doesn’t confess,” I ordered.
He pulled out his phone and turned the screen toward her. The moment she saw the video, all the color drained from her face. Her younger brother was on the screen, he was sitting on his knees, terrified, with several guns pointed directly at his head.
Her eyes widened in horror, and she stared at the screen as though she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
I had no intention of killing that innocent boy. He had nothing to do with any of this. But she didn't need to know that, I needed her scared enough to finally tell me the truth.
I needed to know why she killed Gianna eight years ago. Gianna was my niece, the only child of my younger sister, Ollie. Ollie and her boyfriend were killed not long after Gianna was born, leaving the little girl without either of her parents. I took responsibility for her. She became my responsibility, my family, and eventually one of the most important people in my life.
I raised her until that night eight years ago. She had gone to a friend's party, and while she was there, I received a call from someone telling me they had seen her arguing and fighting with her friend.
I immediately went to the party. I don't like remembering what happened that night. Even after all these years, there are still parts of it I try not to think about.
But I remember waking up the next morning to the worst news of my life. Gianna's body had been found inside her car. The car had been burned, and her body was so badly damaged that she was almost impossible to recognize.
Eight years had passed, but I had never accepted that she simply died because of some stupid fight. There was something else behind her death.
I believed the same person who had killed her parents had somehow used this fat bitch to get to Gianna. I had spent eight years trying to uncover the truth, and now I finally had someone who could give me answers.
“Think carefully about your answer,” I said, my voice cold as I pointed the gun toward her leg. “And stop protecting people who don’t give a shit about you.”
She shook her head again, my grip tightened around the gun. I was about to pull the trigger when my phone suddenly rang.
I lowered the gun slightly and reached into my pocket. When I looked at the screen, I saw my grandmother's name. I picked up immediately.
“You need to come to my place now!” she said. Before I could ask her what was wrong, the call ended.
I frowned at the phone, of all the times she could have called, this had to be now. I slipped the phone back into my pocket and turned toward my men. “Pack this body and send him to his family,” I said, pointing toward her father. “Pay them everything I promised him and tell them he was a traitor.” I looked at the woman one last time. “Throw her in the dark room for now.”
A promise was a promise. I had given him exactly what I promised, but men like him didn't deserve to live. He knew I was searching for his daughter because I wanted to kill her, yet he had sold her to me without a second thought. He had chosen his own safety over his daughter, and that alone told me everything I needed to know about him.
I left the room and walked out of my mansion, heading straight to the part of the estate where my grandmother lived.
The moment I entered her apartment, I knew exactly why she had called me. She was sitting in the living room, surrounded by witches and seers.
I let out a frustrated sigh. The witches and seers immediately stood when they saw me. They lowered their heads respectfully, but I didn't return their greetings.
There was no need, I already knew their presence meant trouble, and I wasn't in the mood to waste time pretending otherwise.
“Sit,” my grandmother ordered, pointing toward the couch in front of her.
I hesitated for a moment before taking the seat. My grandmother was the only person in the entire world who could give me an order and expect me to obey it.
“What is this about?” I asked sternly.
“Well, the seers are here with a warning,” she said, turning toward them. Then she looked back at the elderly woman sitting among them. “Speak. Tell him what you just told me.”
The elderly woman slowly stepped forward. “Your Grace,” she began respectfully. I remained silent, watching her carefully. “We saw that you do not have much time left on the throne if you do not have a child within the next two years,” she said.
My expression hardened.
“You need to find your mate or have a child,” she continued. “If you do not, your bloodline will grow weaker. And in two years, there will be people who will rise against you.” She paused, her expression becoming even more serious.“They will defeat you and take your throne.”
I growled loudly, unable to hide my anger. My wolf reacted immediately, clearly displeased by the words we had just heard. A threat against our reign and our kingdom was something neither of us was willing to accept.
“How do you expect me to have a child when only my mate can carry my child, yet the same Moon Goddess has cursed me so I cannot find my mate?” I asked.
It still baffled me to this day that I was the one suffering because of my father's sin. He was the one who had wiped out an entire pack overnight, yet I was the one carrying the curse. I was the one who had been denied the chance to find my mate, and I was the one forced to endure excruciating pain every time I shifted during the full moon.
“How am I supposed to find my mate when I am cursed?” I asked. “Do you know how difficult it is for me to find a woman who can carry my child?”
For years, I had been trying to find someone who could withstand my energy. I had tested countless women from this continent and the other continents under my control, searching for even one woman whose body could handle the energy required to carry my child.
But for more than fifteen years, not a single woman had matched.
“You need to keep trying, my king. We could perform some rituals—”
“I am not performing any rituals to appease any goddess,” I cut her off immediately. My anger rose again. “I don't give two shits about her. If she is cruel enough to hide my mate from me, then what is the point of trying to appease her?” I asked bitterly. “If anyone dares to come for my throne, I will bathe in their blood.”
I didn't want to hear another word of their nonsense. I stood up and walked out of the apartment immediately, ignoring my grandmother when she called after me.
I walked back toward my mansion, anger still burning through me, I needed to finish what I had started. I needed to deal with that fat bitch.
Just as I approached the mansion, I saw a car drive through the gates and park near the entrance. My research doctor stepped out.
He was holding several documents in his hands, and he looked completely disheveled. He hurried toward the mansion as though he couldn't wait another second. I stopped walking and watched him.
The moment he spotted me, he immediately changed direction and hurried toward me. “Your Majesty,” he said. He picked up his pace until he reached me, then handed me the documents in his hands while breathing heavily. I looked down at them before looking back at him.
“What are these?” I asked.
“I found someone who matches your energy level,” he said.
I immediately tensed. For years, I had heard the same disappointing words from my researchers. But this time, something in his expression told me this was different.
“Just like you asked, we ran tests on every woman who came into the country,” he explained. “This woman arrived this morning, and the system picked up her energy level immediately, it’s higher than the energy level we even need.” He swallowed, still trying to catch his breath.
I stared at him.
“Luckily, she is single,” he added.
Blade’s pov Ayana appeared in the doorway before I had said a single word to the doctors, and I knew immediately that something was wrong. She never walked into a room I was in without permission, not unless it mattered.I watched her cross the office, her robe dragging slightly against the floor, her eyes locked on Hazel the entire time. She didn't stop until she reached my side."A word," she said quietly. "Now."I glanced at Hazel, still frozen by the wall with the doctor's needle hovering near her arm. "This isn't the time.""It's exactly the time." Ayana's voice left no room for argument.I stepped away from the desk and walked toward the window with her, far enough that the doctors and Hazel wouldn't hear us. Ayana kept her back to the room, her voice dropping even lower."She's a witch," she said.I almost laughed. "You're mistaken.""I am never mistaken about this." Her eyes were sharp, certain, the same way they had been every single time she had warned my family about somet
Hazel’s povThe bath was warm, but I barely felt it. Two women had led me out of the dark room the moment Blade walked away, their hands gentle in a way that confused me more than it comforted me. They didn't speak much. One of them washed the dried blood from my hands, my father's blood and I sat there because I didn't have the strength to stop her.I kept waiting for someone to explain what was happening. Nobody did. After the bath, they gave me a plain dress and led me to a small room with a bed and a tray of food waiting on a table. I stared at the food for a long time before I finally forced myself to eat a few bites. My stomach turned with every swallow, but I made myself finish it anyway. I needed my strength. I needed to be ready for whatever came next."Where is my brother," I asked one of the women when she came back to collect the tray. "Please, just tell me if he's safe."She glanced at the door before answering, like she was afraid someone might be listening. "He's fine,"
Blade's pov“Take a look at this.” He handed the documents to me.Hazel's name was on top of the papers, I stared at it for a long moment before I let myself believe it."Say that again," I said. The doctor blinked twice. "Alpha blade?""The name," I said. "Say the name."He looked down at his own documents like he needed to check it wasn't a mistake. "Hazel Creed," he said. "She came in this morning with a young boy. My assistant ran the standard scan on every new arrival, like you asked us to do months ago. Her numbers came back so high the machine flagged it twice. We thought it was broken." I let my warm spit settle in my chest."Are you certain that this is not a different woman with the same name?" I said."I have her photo right here." He held out his phone, and I made myself look.It was her. The same face I had just watched crumble under my hand less than an hour ago. The same woman I had thrown into the dark room myself, the one I had planned to kill the moment I finished qu

Hazel's Pov The men dragged me out of the car and started pulling me toward another vehicle. I fought against them with everything I had, twisting and struggling to free myself from their grip.“Ian! Dad!” I screamed, my voice breaking as I looked back at them. One of the men grabbed Dad and pulled him out of the car while another went straight for Ian. He lifted Ian over his shoulder as if he weighed nothing. “Hazel!” Ian cried. They dragged me to the other car and threw me into the trunk. My body hit the hard surface, and before I could even sit up, the trunk slammed shut, leaving me trapped in complete darkness.A few minutes later, I felt the car start moving. I curled myself into a corner, tears running freely down my cheeks as Ian's cries echoed in my head. I should have known better, there was no way I could return to Western Sun without him finding out.The Lycan King owned almost the entire continent. There was nowhere I could hide from him for long. I had spent years tryin
Hazel's PovHave you ever felt so helpless that you were forced to return to a place you had sworn never to see again? That was exactly how I felt at that moment.I had spent eight years running away from that world, convincing myself that I would never go back no matter what happened. I had built a life away from them and had done everything I could to forget about my past. But now, all of that was about to change.“Your brother is going to die if the surgery isn’t done,” the doctor said. “It is the only thing that can save him.”I sat across from him, crying so hard that I could barely breathe. My tears kept falling, but they weren’t going to change anything. Crying wasn’t going to save Ian. It wasn’t going to pay for his surgery.I wiped my face with trembling hands, desperately trying to think of something I could do. “I would advise you to keep trying to reach your mother,” the doctor said. “You might be lucky.”I almost laughed at that, but I didn’t have the strength. My mother
