◼Nikolas POV◼
As I’m trying to process, I feel hands push me, but I don’t dare move. The whole place was crumbling down. As my hand slips, I smell blood. Was the woman hurt?
Panic taking over me, I protect her. She must be hurt, and the place was falling. Using my body, I shield her from the crumbles.
…
I don’t know how long we have been here, but opening my eyes, I cough. The air was dusty. It was making it hard to breathe. Moving, I take off the crumbles from my body. I could see the light penetrating the building or what’s left of it. I didn’t hear any noise; it was just the crumbling and my breathing.
As I remember, I’m not alone. I look down and what I see takes my breath away. Right under me laid the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen. Red hair like the blood surrounded her body frame. She had pale skin now covered in dirt and dust.
I couldn’t see her body well. As I move my hand to check on her, I see a pool of blood on her left side.
Moving her carefully, I sit up and check my surroundings. Then, getting ourselves out of the coffin, I feel her move, and a small sob escapes her mouth. She has lost a lot of blood.
I looked for a safe place to lay her down. I look once again around us.
No one was in sight. As I laid her down, I bit my hand. I could see it was a big and deep wound. It’s like she fell on a stake, something sharp.
Filling my mouth with blood, I kiss her. She needed to drink blood. Her pulse was weak. As I feel her lips move, I let her gulp the blood. Moving back, I look at her. Removing some hair strands, I see her smiling softly.
She was beautiful. I couldn’t believe I found my mate here in this place. But who was she?
As I look around us, I see an exit. Carrying the body carefully, I walk out. It led towards the forest. I don’t know who came with her, but I decide to bring her back to the kingdom. Heading quickly towards the car, I feel a slight pain in my back. I had some scratches and some bruises. Laying her down on the back seat, I got in the car and drove away.
I felt sorry for whoever she came with, but this was my mate, and even though I didn’t know who she was, I was taking her away with me. I wasn’t planning to leave her injured, especially since I know she is my mate.
“Don’t worry, we will arrive soon at our home,” I whispered as I looked over my shoulder.
…
After some hours, we finally arrived home. Getting down quickly, I see Charles heading my way. Opening the back door, I pull her out.
“Your Majesty… What?” Charles mumbled as he looked at the woman in my arms.
“Get me the doctor… Now!” I ordered.
Walking in, I take her to my bedroom. She was bleeding a lot. Lying her down, I undress her. She was unconscious. As I remove her vest, the doctor walks in, frowning as he looks at me.
“What happened?” he asked.
“I will explain later. I need you to help me,” I said without looking up.
As he sets his bag on the table, he helps me remove her clothes.
“Let’s turn her around,” he said.
Doing so, I see the wound. It was wide open and fresh still. The small amount of blood I gave didn’t help much.
“Do you know what hurt her?” the doctor asked.
I explained to him what happened as we were not sure what made the injury that deep. I let him do his job.
“You go get those wounds checked and let me help her,” the doctor said.
“I’m fine,” I hissed.
I wasn’t planning to leave her alone.
“You need to, Your Highness… Please,” the doctor said.
As I hesitate, his assistants come in. One of them pulls me out of the room. I was hissing and scowling.
“No!” I hissed.
“She will be fine, ok?” the doctor said as he pleaded with his eyes.
I bang the bedroom door as I hissed.
A sudden hand distracts me from my anger. It was Charles. As he pulled me away, I turned my head and looked at my mate in bed one last time.
…
It’s been forty-five minutes, and the doctor hasn’t come out. What was taking him so long? As I pace the living room. I hear the door suddenly open.
After they treated my wounds, I came back to the living room to wait. I have been pacing the place for at least an hour. I was impatient. Was Rose fine? Was it something serious?
As I snapped my head and looked at the doctor coming out of the bedroom, I asked him if she’s ok.
“Your Majesty,” the doctor said, bowing. “She will be fine, she needs rest, and she won’t be able to move for a while. The injury was deep; it’s like something burned her from the inside, like silver. She has a minor concussion in her head, and we have given her blood. Once she’s awake, she will need to drink blood from a slave or someone else.”
“Good… you may leave,” I said, waving my hand and walking towards my bedroom.
Charles followed me. Quietly. He didn’t ask who she was. As I enter the room, I see one assistant cleaning her. Now I could see her skin better. She looked so frail, like made of porcelain. As I dismiss the assistant, I take a seat next to the bed. Heaving a sigh, I grab her hand and kiss it.
“Who is this girl?” Charles suddenly asked, “What is she?”
Getting pissed at how he calls her, I hiss. Then, elongating my fangs, I let my monster out.
“This GIRL is your queen!” I hissed, “So show respect!”
“Our queen?” Charles gasp, “Wait? So you found your mate?”
Nodding my head, I try to calm down. As I explain to him what happened, I feel her move. She groaned in pain. Moving next to her, I sit carefully and whisper to her. Again, she would groan in pain. Hushing her, I stroke her hair. I could feel the electric pull every time I touch her. As I saw her face relax, I turned my attention to Charles.
“Do you know who she is?” asked Charles as he approached the bed.
“No… But I know her name,” I whispered as I looked at her.
She was what I’ve been looking for all along. She was perfect. As my eyes scan her body, I see several small scars, like fighting marks. Touching her lightly, I trace my finger lower to her chest. She was just in a sports bra and some shorts. She looked paler than most vampires would look.
Gulping hard, I see how beautiful she was. Big round breast, slim waist, and perfect hips to give birth had me thinking dirty stuff. My eyes scan the rest of her body. I was dying to touch her, to feel her. Her long legs were driving me crazy. She must be six feet tall or more.
“What’s her name?” Charles asked as he distracted me from my thoughts.
“Her name is Rose….” I mumble.
I loved her name. I couldn’t wait for her to open her eyes.
After being with her for a while, I had an important meeting to attend. So I had to leave her. I was hesitant and worried about leaving her alone. I wanted to be the first one she sees when she opens her eyes.
As I head towards the conference room, I see my men and spies gathered together. Everyone went quiet. Taking a seat, I signal for the meeting to start.
“Your Majesty, we got the news that the Solar Clan has moved and where at the place,” one of my spies said.
“When was that?” I asked, frowning.
“A while ago. There was at least a group of twelve men,” another spy explained.
Nodding my head, I smirk. I know they won’t find anything. The place got destroyed, and even though I wasn’t able to find the amulet. I was happy I found my mate.
As one spy asked me what the plan was. I tell them to monitor them and let me know if there’s anything strange happening. Then, dismissing everyone, I stand up.
Walking back to my bedroom, I hear Charles call my name. Turning around, I move quickly and grab him by the neck.
“What have I told you about calling me by my name?” I hissed close to his ear.
“Sorry, King Nikolas…” Charles whispered.
Putting him down, I walk away. I wanted no one to disturb me. All I wanted was to see my mate. As I reach my room, I open the door quietly, trying not to wake her up. But, as I turn and look over the bed, I see she’s not there.
“Rose?” I whispered.
Where was she? Did she go? But that was impossible. I look all over the bedroom. I hear a groan in the bathroom. Opening the door, I see my mate on the floor. Running, I kneel and look at her. She was holding her side where the wound was; it was bleeding.
Picking her up bridal style, I carry her back to bed. I feel her arm go around my neck. She was weeping and panting.
“You will be fine,” I whispered.
Laying her softly, I feel her hand grab my shirt tightly. As I look at her, I see her face lean in the crook of my neck. Suddenly a sharp pain crossed all over my chest. What the hell?
She was drinking my blood. Her grip on me was so sturdy I couldn’t move. As I let her drink my blood, I feel her grip suddenly relax. Holding her by the arms, I try to push her away as I watch her eyes open. Grasping her chin, I look at her. She was frowning and covering her face.
“Hi,” I whispered as I caressed her face, “How do you feel?”
Panting, she looks at me. When I see her eyes, I gasp. She had grey eyes.
She looked stunning. Grey eyes weren’t usual in vampires. There was only one clan whose vampires had gray eyes, but the kingdom vanished decades ago.
As she looked at me, I smiled softly. I waited for her to answer me. Suddenly her hand moves to my face. She was staring at me intensely. As I was about to say something, she scowls.
“Where am I?” she asked with confusion in her voice.
Her voice was soothing and calm. Yet, it had a seductive tone to it.
“You’re in my house,” I said as I kept staring at her.
Her eyes kept staring. She never wavers a beauty to behold.
“Who are you?” she suddenly asked.
“Why don’t you tell me who you are first?” I said.
Eyes wide, she looks at me and then frowns. It’s like she was processing what had happened.
“You were the presence I felt in the chamber?” Rose asked.
Nodding my head, I see her eyes go wide in awe. Smiling, I help her sit. As she leans a bit to the front, I hear her hiss and groan. Rubbing her back, I feel the sensation through my body. A moan escaped Rose’s mouth. As I stay still, I look up to see her staring back. She was so close that our lips could touch at any moment. Hearing her moan had my body twitching.
Averting her eyes, she pushes me away. Gripping her arm, I hear her flinch. I didn’t understand why she shoved me. Trying to calm down, I let go. Moving back slowly, I watched her; she looked like she was in pain.
“The doctor said you couldn’t move. So why were you in the bathroom?” I asked.
“I needed it,” Rose mumbled.
“What’s your name?” I asked as I stared at her.
“My name is… Rose,” she whispered.
Smiling, I hold her hand. Caressing her hand, I looked at her; she studied me; she looked at our hands and back to my eyes.
“This feeling…” Rose whispered.
Frowning, I asked her what she just said, but she stayed quiet. Then, pulling her hand away, I see her body language suddenly change. There was this weird feeling in the air. Was it my imagination?
“I need to go… please tell me where I am?” Rose asked as she tried to stand up.
“Wait, what are you doing?” I said as I held her arm, “You can’t move. You need to rest.”
“I’ll be fine,” Rose said as she slapped my hand away, “Thank you.”
Seeing her grab her clothes and leave the room, I follow her. I called her name, but she didn’t listen. Why was she acting like this?
“Wait!” I said as I grabbed her arm again.
This time she turned around and hissed. Her fangs were out, and her eyes were pitch black. Then, with a sudden move, she throws me against the wall. Surprised, I frowned. What the fucking hell? From where did she get so much strength?
As I stand up, I feel her right in front of me. When did she move? As she stared at me with her hand on her hip. She scowls.
“Look, thank you for helping me, but I need to go… now, tell me, where am I?” Rose asked, with such hate that had me shrinking.
It was a 360 change. Rose was so calm a while ago that she even looked innocent. But never did I expect her to look at me with hate.
“Now, last time I ask you, where am I?” Rose asked.
Standing straight, I look at her. I loathed the way she was acting. It’s like she was feeling superior. Frowning, I walked over and stood right in front of her. Her eyes were no longer black, but her fangs were showing. She looked fierce.
“You want to know where you are?” I hissed as I leaned closer to her ear, “You’re in the Kingdom of Ciar, sweetheart.”

Rose POV I stood watching the men trained. My belly felt heavy. I was nine months pregnant. I was going to give birth soon. So for the last month, I’ve been stressed for the sole reason that Nikolas was not serious about our kid. The one-year-old prince was making a ruckus around the palace every day. Nikolas found it funny, but I find it undisciplined. Nikolas keeps saying I’m overreacting, but he was our heir, our prince. So he needed to learn how to behave well. My brother Eden says he’s still tiny and that I’m dramatic, but I want our future king to be better than us. Hearing a cheerful voice, I turn around and find Liam carrying the prince.
Nikolas POVAfter we returned to the party, both Rose and I had a tremendous surprise. Everyone present on the ball was bowing to us. Rose and I didn’t understand what was happening, but once the Prince of Asia came forward and said what was happening. Both Rose and I were speechless.Everyone knew we got marked, but I never expected that the Prince of Asia had planned all this. With a sigh, I saw Rose stand next to the prince and introduce him.Rose looked too familiar with him. Taking a seat at a table, Rose explained what had happened.“Before coming over, Prince Novak asked me for a favor,” Rose said.“What would that be?” I asked, intrigued.
◼Rose◼ Realizing what he just said, I blush. Nikolas was smiling at me in a way I’ve never seen before. Then, walking over to me, he grabs my hand and pulls me away. I didn’t turn to look at anyone. We walked for a while before Nikolas finally stopped. Slamming me against the wall, he hits his hand, making me flinch. Kissing me roughly, I try to push him. But it was so overwhelming that I gave in. My arms circled around his neck. Kissing him passionately back, I let him take control. That electric feeling spreading across my body. How have I missed his touch? Slowly, he leaned his body against mine. Making me moan. I could feel how horny he was. He wanted me just like I wanted him right now. But there was no time for this. Moving my fa
◼Rose◼A few days ago, I passed out because Nikolas's letter overwhelmed me. Liam and Eden were worried for me. It hurt, and I haven’t stopped crying. They tried talking with me, but I asked them to leave me alone. Now I had gone and visited the Asian Clan. I needed a distraction. To be away from here. So, preparing my bags, I ask Renata to join me on the trip. Liam tried to argue with me, but I scolded him. I didn’t want to hear anything from them.As we departed from our long trip, I kept thinking about the letter and his words. He was married. He quickly forgot about me. How naïve I thought that maybe time would make me accept him once again.Throughout the flight, I was silent. Renata tried to make conversation, but I
◼Nikolas◼Three years ago…I watch her leave like that. A coward was the only thought I had in mind.I fist my hands in anger. I wanted to stop her, to see her turn around and beg for forgiveness. But, instead, she did nothing. She just walks away.Heading back to the car, I remove the crown from my head and watch as we finally leave. That bastard’s body was disposed of. Making sure we left no trace of him.All the way back home, I felt the need to turn back and head to Rose clans. But just thinking about seeing her pissed me. I should have taught her a lesson. Frustration, I look at the crown and throw it against the seat. I hated it. Why did she
