Chapter 2

Author: Sue Purple
Tucker didn't ask any more questions. He just lifted me into his arms and carried me to the car. Once the door closed, we were sealed off from the outside world.

His masculine scent blended seamlessly with the crisp aroma of cedar, enveloping me in a warm, intoxicating embrace. But instead of easing the chaos inside, it only fanned the fire of my desire, nearly erasing all rational thought.

Without thinking, I tore at my collar as soft, pitiful whimpers escaped my lips.

Tucker's eyes stayed on me. He asked, "Does it hurt?"

I nodded, tears streaming uncontrollably down my face. "Tucker, my whole body aches… Please, help me…"

My voice slipped out as a whisper, trembling under the weight of my sobs. Yet beneath it all, desire burned in every breath I took.

After a moment, Tucker shifted closer, closing the space between us.

"And how exactly do you want me to help?" he murmured.

With trembling hands, I reached for his tie, my tears flowing freely down my cheeks. "Kiss me… Or… let me kiss you."

Tucker's eyes darkened, his calm facade slipping away. He said nothing in response. But before I could react, he leaned in close. Holding the back of my neck, he pressed his lips firmly to mine. There was nothing gentle about his kiss. Instead, it brimmed with a sense of ownership and power.

Without hesitation, he pried my jaws apart. His tongue explored boldly, leaving no corner of my mouth untouched.

The force of the kiss swept me off my feet, leaving my body weak and trembling. Still, there was no denying it was effective. The burning heat inside me eased considerably beneath his fierce passion.

Like a drowning person clutching a lifeline, I refused to let go of Tucker. Instinctively, my hands found his shoulders. I held on awkwardly, desperate to keep up with him. I eventually lost all sense of time.

As the kiss broke, I collapsed against him, struggling to catch my breath. My misty eyes and flushed cheeks lent me an unexpected allure.

Tucker's hand remained firmly at the nape of my neck. Without warning, his fingers slid upward, mischievously pinching the werewolf ears that had appeared in my flustered state.

My whole body froze. I'd just been caught.

He leaned close, his breath warm against my ear. "For a werewolf's first heat, this won't do at all."

How did he know? Was he not human either? Could he really be another werewolf? A chill ran through me as I stared at him in disbelief.

Seeing the terror in my eyes, Tucker curled his lips into a knowing smile.

Panic took over me, every fiber of my being screaming to push him away and run. But my body refused to cooperate. The fire inside me had barely dimmed, leaving my body limp and unresponsive.

I grabbed his tie, my attention drawn to the flush creeping over his ears.

"Can you take me home?" I asked.

Reading my unspoken request, Tucker quietly began to remove my clothes.

"Tucker… No…"

As my reason returned, the truth hit me like a punch. I finally realized who he was and what we were on the brink of doing.

"I… I'm fine. Let's stop for today. Tucker, you… You should go first."

Tucker's gaze remained fixed on mine, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Giving up halfway isn't a good habit, but I'll let you pass today. Think it through tonight. Tomorrow, I'll come back for you."

This wasn't a request; it was a heads-up.

Beneath the weight of his gaze, I found myself nodding in surrender.

At first, I had no idea who the man was. All of a sudden, he raised his head. Though his face was weathered by time and hardship, faint shadows of his former self remained visible. It was Morgan. However, my heart didn't flutter in the slightest. It felt like I was looking at a complete stranger. I grabbed Jasper's hand, prepared to walk away. But before I could move, Morgan spotted me. He flung the empty bottle aside and staggered forward. "Addie! Is it really you, Addie?"He stopped right in front of me, his excitement spilling out in a rush of words. "Addie, it's you! I can't believe I've finally found you again! I managed to break out of that hellhole! I'm back! For five long years, you've been the one I thought about every single day."Jasper trembled at the sight of him. He instinctively hid behind me, his eyes filled with fear as he stared at Morgan. I gave Jasper's back a reassuring pat, hoping to calm his nerves.I turned back to Morgan and said, "Sir, I'm afraid you've

"Morgan," Tucker called out, his voice as cold as ice.Morgan's complexion drained of all color. With his forehead on the ground, he begged for mercy, "Tucker… I was wrong… Everything was my fault… I was confused… I didn't mean for any of this to happen…"Tucker, however, ignored his desperate pleas. Without a word, he grabbed his phone and made a quick call. "Have him removed."After ending the call, Tucker gazed down at Morgan and declared, "As of today, you're no longer part of the Flint family."Morgan looked up at him, disbelief written on his face. "No… Tucker… You can't do this! I'm your brother, for goodness' sake! Are you seriously going to cut me off over a woman?"A bitter laugh slipped past Tucker's lips. "The moment you raised that knife against Addie, you stopped being my brother. She's not just some woman. She's my mate. Everyone else fades in comparison. The second you laid a finger on her, you made me your enemy."A few moments later, several men in black suits b

She also made it clear that Tucker and I had already formed a mate bond. We were bound for life. There was no way we could be torn apart. The revelation hit Morgan like a crushing blow. A few days later, I stepped back onto campus. The moment I appeared, whispers and stares followed me everywhere. Everyone's eyes were wide with shock and awe."Is that really Addison? When did she get so stunning?""Stunning doesn't even begin to cover it. Just look at that figure!""I heard Morgan dumped her for some influencer. I bet he's kicking himself now."Whispers and murmurs swirled around me, but I remained unfazed. As noon rolled around, I made my way to the cafeteria for lunch. Suddenly, a young woman hurried toward me. Holding her phone high above, she looked like she was livestreaming."Addison, you brazen little homewrecker! I knew I'd catch you sooner or later!"The voice belonged to none other than Paige Denbrook, the influencer Morgan had been seeing. As soon as she spoke, every eye in the cafeteria turned in my direction. She jabbed a finger in my face and unleashed a storm of insults."It's her! She's the one who stole my boyfriend! Morgan should've been with

As Tucker and I entered the living room, I spotted my adoptive parents—Leonard Flint and Rose Vertez—sitting on the couch. Their expressions were dark with fury. The tension in the air was impossible to ignore.Morgan had clearly gone ahead to confront them with his accusations. The moment Rose saw us, she leaped from the couch and stormed toward me. Her hand shot up, as though she was about to slap me. "Addison! How could you be so shameless?"Thankfully, Tucker's reflexes were quicker. He seized her wrist before she could strike. He snapped, "Mom, what on earth are you doing?"Rose's chest heaved with rage. "What am I doing? You should be asking yourself that same question! Tucker, are you out of your mind? Addison is your brother's girlfriend, for crying out loud! How could you do this?"Leonard's expression was just as grim. "Tucker, let go of your mother. You owe us an explanation."But instead of letting go, Tucker turned and pulled me closer. "The explanation is simple. Mo

Barefoot, I slipped out of bed and made my way to find Tucker. The living room was empty, but I could hear faint noises coming from the kitchen. Glancing around the corner, I spotted Tucker in an apron, busy preparing something at the counter. The morning light softened his tall frame, making him look unexpectedly gentle. He turned at the sound of my footsteps. When he saw me, his eyes brightened, and a faint smile curved his lips. "You're up! Come have some food."He brought a plate of fried eggs and bacon to the table and poured me a warm cup of milk.I nervously tugged at the sleeves of the oversized shirt draped around me. "Tucker…"With a pleased smile, he stepped closer and ran his fingers through my hair. "Eat quickly. Once you're done, I'll take you home."It suddenly dawned on me that I hadn't returned all night. My family had to be worried sick. After breakfast, Tucker drove me back to the Flint residence. The instant the car pulled up to the gate, I spotted Morgan sta
