THE DRIVE took them half an hour to reach the large house, hiding behind high walls covered with green crawling figs. The structure looked old from the outside and Xurden made it out of bricks. Windows were thick glasses and tall.Xurden spent millions to build a house that couldn’t be called home, even though he’s been staying there ever since the higher gods sent him to earth. NOISE filled the public market that wasn’t pleasing to Xurden’s ears. People talked so loud and a few of the store owners shouted, even though they were close to each other. Consumers walked in different directions, checking up on goods in every store. THE DEMON growled loudly, spreading her tentacles fast that only point in one direction. Xurden had thought that this kind of creature didn’t even learn a single thing. They forgot exorcists that could face them existed everywhere, and he was the one who was best at it since he was a god. Demons always thought they were more powerful, which made them blind to the truth. That’s why Xurden didn’t have a hard time dealing with her. As the tentacles get closer, he raised his hand, releasing ice spikes from the bloody floor. The spikes stopped the tentacles from moving, which made the demon shriek aloud. THE RESTAURANT wasn’t that grand. Even from the outside, it looked so simple. Plants filled its side in different sizes and colors. There were even greenery figs crawling on the windowpanes.
