Chapter 6

"Let's get back. You're right, there is a condition. I want you to find my brother in the hands of the person who threatening me."

"Find? Why? Am I carrying a map for your missing brother?" The young man said irritatedly, causing Zera to look at him with her glaring eyes.

"My request is not a joke. I will only be silent if you agree with me." The young man's eyes became serious but his face showed more irritation..

"I will not do your request if I have to take your life I will do it just to keep you quiet because I will not look for people who are unlikely to be found," he said before turning his back on the girl. It seems that Zera is planted in her position and doesn't know why Gavin just left her.

"What happened to him?" She asked before gasping violently. The hope she felt seemed to be buried in the ground just like that.

After a while, Zera decided to go up because she also felt the fear of the long night and the young man didn't even remember her and left her there with only the moon serving as light in the surrounding.

Zera quickly entered her home and found the young man lying on the floor where he had already laid his bed.

Zera moved forward so that Gavin could not be skipped because it is a superstition that it is forbidden to pass through a person when he is lying down, said the elders in their area. Because she can adapt it, there is nothing for her to believe because there is nothing to lose.

Her foot hit the young man's thigh causing Zera to turn around while the young man removed his hand from covering his face.

"Do you really want to live?" He asked. Zera didn't respond even though she wasn't used to what Gavin was saying, she understood him and quickly stepped to sit on the double-decker bed.

She lay down there and looked at her Cellphone. She has many messages from her friends.

Zera smiled when she saw Mara's message, she read it softly, "Zera, how are you? Aren't you coming back? I miss you so much," she said. She only has two friends and he can say that Mara can really be trusted by everyone. It's always there when she needs it. She is always there when Zera cries or feels alone. Mara does not fail to make Zera feel that she does not have to bear all the problems on her own but that she is there to take the half and make her smile.

Mara is also angry with Zera's parents for how they treat her, but with Zera's help she keeps quiet and avoiding not to talk to them.

Next she read the message from Chloe. "Don't you know what a shame you did Zera? How about what people will think of you? They'll think the same of me, right? Reply because I'm the one who's crazy about what you're doing!" That's exactly how Chloe is a straightforward woman and speaks without hesitation. She is also hard to speak with so Zera is closer to Mara because she can't really understand Chloe's behavior and it seems like she is always angry to Zera but Zera tries to understand the situation because they are all she has and she doesn't want their friendship to be ruined for a few years just because they couldn't handle each other's attitude.

"You're crying again." A baritone voice came from below her and she realized who it was.

"Are those your friends? Don't you know that there is only one true friend? The one who won't let you down or embarrass you." He said while grinning but his eyes were still closed.

"What do you know about my friends? If you don't have any friends in your world, don't mind my business." Gavin was stunned when he heard Zera turned sideways and faced the wall.

"You're right. I don't have any friends and I never dreamed of having even one." It seems that Gavin said a sharp word then. Zera didn't insist on talking anymore.

'what's with this man, why does he seem to carry the world more than me?'

                                      —

The next morning, Gavin woke up and noticed that the princess was outside of Zera's home.

"Your Highness." He called out to the girl who turned her back from inhaling the flowers in front of the apartment.

"Gavin? Why it seem you didn't woke up early?" This is a question. That's when Gavin remembered that they were awake earlier than this even Zera had already go to her work. Gavin couldn't figure out why his sleep seemed so comfortable and he wasn't even alarmed to wake up.

"Excuse me your majesty, can I help you?" He asked the princess. A very sweet smile drew on the lips of the princess.

"Do you think when we get back to our place the war will be over?" She said before looking up. She couldn't understand why this happened to her and every day that passed she felt the loss of her parents.

"I can't say the answer to that but don't worry because the king and queen will do everything to get you back," he said while looking seriously at the princess. She nodded her head..

"Gavin can you just call me by my name? I don't like it when people here look at us like we're weird." Gavin was shocked by what he heard because he could never do the princess's request.

"But your majesty, I can't accept your request because it's against the law," he said before bowing and clenching his fist as if he remembered that Zera's behavior might have infected the princess.

"No. We're not in our world. In this world I have no power, we're just ordinary people so I'm begging you Gavin because I find it harder to accept everything every time you keep calling me like that. There's no certainty if we'll stay here forever," she said. In every word she said there was a burning pain. She could feel the tightness in her chest and Gavin could feel it so he slowly raised his gaze before taking a breath.

"If that's your request I will fulfill it S-Sera," he said stuttering as he said the name.

"But I promise to protect you in this world," he said. The princess smiled at him even more before gently nodding several times.

"And I hope you can also protect the girl who help us. We owe her a lot Gavin..."
