Forced to be the Mistress of the Alpha

 Chapter 1

“A Failed Rejection”

POV Samatha 

Today, I get my wolf.

Today, I find my mate.

I have been waiting so long for this day.

I’m so excited I feel like I could burst.

I jump out of bed and dance around the room before taking a shower. The time I was born is 12:30pm. So, I have a bit of time to prepare for my wolf.  

The shower is freezing cold.

My sisters must have used up all the hot water.

I look in the mirror at my curly red hair and big green eyes and smile.

Today is going to be a good day.

I pick out my favourite green flowery dress and head downstairs for breakfast. 

Everyone is there, all excited for me

My dad is the beta of our pack and is cooking my favourite bunny pancakes.

Mom is setting the table along with my two younger sisters, Isabel and Lily.

I look at the clock after breakfast. It’s 11:30 am.

One hour to go.

Lily joins me for a walk.

We take the trail to my favorite Cupid fountain.

We walk through the golden gates of the town garden and come to a huge, beautiful marble statue of Cupid with his bow and arrow.

A lot of the pack members come here for their anniversaries, wedding proposals and to meet their wolves.

Cupid makes me feel like I’m ready to find my perfect mate and live happily ever after.

12:30pm

Nothing happens.

I start to panic

Lily puts her arm around me. “Give it more time, Samatha.”

“Okay.” I take a deep breath.

Lily gives me a tight hug, then leaves to go meet a friend.

I start to wish my best friend Melanie were here.

She already has a betrothed. She rejected her fated mate as if it meant nothing to her.

I walk in circles around the fountain.

I feel a sudden pull to wade into the fountain.

I step into the water. It’s warm from the natural hot springs.

I hug the Cupid statue. It’s oddly cold. I feel the smooth marble and touch my forehead to it and take a deep breath.

I hear a voice in my head.

“Are you in love with that statue?” A female voice asks.

“Just in love with love,” I say. “Are you my wolf? What is your name?"

“Oh my, you're one of those,” the voice says.

 “One of what?” I ask.

“Starstruck dreamer, glass half full, positive morning people,” the voice says.

“And you?” I ask.

 “I’m more of a glass half empty wolf. I don’t mind the mornings if we’re having a protein bar, and training with the warriors.”

“I’m not a warrior. I enjoy cooking and cleaning like a housewife.”

“Well, that’s disappointing,” the voice says," I guess the moon goddess paired us up for a reason."

“Maybe she made a mistake?”

“Don’t insult the moon goddess, Samatha! She doesn’t make mistakes!" Then the voice goes quiet.

I have a wolf; I smile.

A bit temperamental, maybe opinionated, but she’s my wolf.

I smell something in the air and run towards the scent of strawberries and chocolate.

The smell is intoxicating and makes me dizzy and happy at the same time.

“Mate.”

I follow the scent and find.

A gourgous young male wolf with blue dreamy eyes and dark blond hair, short hair. I just want to run my fingers through it . He has the face of a god and is lean and muscular in his black tee shirt and shorts that show off his sexy ass. He is leaning against a tree, watching the world go by. His scent draws me closer to him.

“Mate.” My wolf says out loud.

He looks directly at me, surprised.

It’s then that I realize this is Kyle, the future alpha. Melanie’s chosen mate.

I take a step back.

“Sam? No, this can’t be. I’m marrying Melanie. I have to reject you.”

I take another step back.

He steps closer.

“I don’t want to reject you. I’ve been secretly in love with you since we were kids.”

I take another step back. I feel like I can’t breathe. I’m lost for words. This can’t be.

“Samatha, look at me!”

I take another step back.

He moves closer.

“This can’t be Kyle. I need to reject you.”

“No, you are mine. I want you. You will be my mistress. I can’t let you go. I’ve wanted you for so long.”

I take a breath. “I Samatha a brown of the Moon Sky Pack….”

He puts his hand over my mouth. “Do you want your entire family to be tossed out of this pack, Sam?”

My heart breaks. “No.” I cry.

“I knew about your father’s affair when you were younger. If you reject me again, I will ruin you and your family. Do you understand?”

“Yes.” Tears stream down my face. As my heart continues to break. Where is the kind and loving wolf I grew up with?

“When I become the new alpha this weekend, you will be my mistress. My father has a mistress, and so will I.”

“What about Melanie? She is my best and only friend.”

“You're 18 now. You're not a child anymore. You need only me. No one else. I refused to share what is mine. I will speak to Melanie about this.”

“Please don’t do this, Kyle.”

He grabs my left cheek and forces me to kiss him. I feel a warmth spread around my body as the mate bond betrays me.

I pull away. “Please stop Kyle, this isn’t right.”

“You are mine to touch. Now go home,” Kyle orders and walks off.

I run home crying. My face is red; my eyes burn from the many tears I have shed.

My Wolf says nothing to comfort me.

What a disappointing day!

I get home, and nobody is there.

I run to my room and cry myself to sleep in my pillow.
