Chapter 15: Shane's New Life

The sun is already up but Azrael and Shane remained standing to where the gate has disappeared. The magic circles drawn on the ground has been erased and left without a trace as if it was never really there.

The last image of Mara remained in Shane's mind as tears kept on streaming down his face. He was not even blinking as if he can still see Mara standing in front of them and smiling or rolling her eyes with her scythe on her shoulder.

Azrael saluted at the empty land. He sighed and turned his back. He gave Shane a gentle pat on the shoulder before walking away.

Shane did not even move an inch or nodded as if he was left frozen in time.

Finally, he lifted his head and gazed in the sky.
