Chapter 4: Man on the hood

   After the day's work, Elle took her bag and went home. The home that was too cold and lonely for her. Everything stood watching her with no life.

  She couldn't talk to anyone, the only people she expressed her thoughts and fears to was Mia and Daniel.

   Other than them, she was left alone in the world. Her dad died when she was just a little kid around 10 years. And now the only person that was left also died leaving her alone in this cruel world.

   Entering her villa, she dropped her bag on the sofa. She removed her shoes and her suit jacket.

   She had won her limited edition suit to work today, looking elegant and beautiful as always.

     Taking her bag and shoe in her left hand and her jacket in the other hand she left for her room.

  Nobody was living with her in the huge mansion, the only people that came and went were the cook and the cleaner. They always came in the morning and left in the evening.

   Daniel had asked her to hire a maid that will live with her. At least have someone she could talk with but she rejected saying she was okay.

  But was she okay?

    She entered the bathroom to take a bath. She removed her clothes which made the cold air hit her skin that caused goosebumps to form on her body. 

   She filled the tub with hot water before cooling it with cold water. She poured the body wash inside before stepping inside the tub immediately feeling relieved. The sweet-scented liquid wafted in the air as bubbles started forming.

  

 She stayed there feeling the warm water soothe her body before she started scrubbing her body.

    After 45 minutes she came out of the bathtub. Taking the towel that was on the hanger by the side, she carefully dried her body. She wore her bathrobe and red flip-flops.

  She brushed her teeth before coming out. She grabbed a small towel before going out to dry her wet hair.

  A notification popped on her phone. Taking her phone she unlocked it using face unlock. She had two messages, one from Daniel and the other from Mia.

  She opened Daniel's message first "Hey Elle, are you home? I heard you were invited to the gala call me when you get home"

Opening Mia's message, as always her message was long "Elle have you chosen the dress for the gala? We are going to the mall tomorrow, don't forget else I will personally pick you up–" and it went on and on.

She dialed Daniel's number, the phone was still ringing, and she sat down on the couch in the room. She crossed her legs before the call was picked up.

  Daniel's voice came from the other end "Hey Elle"

 "Hello, Danny".

  "Are you home?" He asked from his end while packing some files in his office.

  Elle replied, "Yes, I'm home. Just finished bathing".

 "Okay, I heard that you were invited to the gala by Ethan Cephas"

"Yes," Elle answered.

  "I was invited too. Are you going?" Daniel asked

"Yes I have to go" 

"Ok, do you think–" Daniel wanted to say something but stopped "Go to bed early seems you are tired".

"Ok Danny, You too"

"Hmm. Goodnight then".

 "Good night too," Elle said before the call was disconnected. She tossed the phone aside. Standing up, she went to her closet. She brought out her nightgown.

After she wore her nightgown, she took her phone and went to bed, sleeping off immediately after her body hit the bed.

   In an unknown Villa, a man wearing a robe with a hood was seen on a call standing beside the black glass window "Is everything going as planned?" He asked.

 "Yes, boss" the person on the other end answered.

  "Did you send the letters?" The hood man asked.

"Yes boss"

"Wait for my next signal before you send the next one. Kill them both when the last package is sent".

  "Yes boss I understand "

"Good" and the call was disconnected.

"Were you in a call?" Drizzy asked walking toward Ethan.

  "Ahh, yes it was the event planner"

"Oh okay, how is the preparation going?"

"Good. And how was your shopping. Did you buy everything you needed?".

  Drizzy yawned "It went well and yes I bought everything I need"

"Okay that's good" Ethan smiled rubbing her head.

  "Alright, big bro. I want to sleep get some sleep too, I believe she's already snoring in bed"

  Ethan chuckled "Silly girl. Have a good night's rest"

  "Yes, I will" Drizzy waved at him already taking the stairs to go to her room.

     When Drizzy left, the smile on Ethan's face vanished as he held his phone tightly in his hand. With a little more effort the phone would break in his hands.

   The next day Elle woke up feeling something soft touching her face, then her legs, it felt wet. Moving her legs, whatever it was came back on her leg this time more persistent and licking her legs. 

She flung her leg only to hear the cry of a cat, meow meow.

"Oh my poor little cat"

  Elle's eyes snapped open, Mia! "What are you doing here? And that thing?" She said pointing at the cat Mia was holding.

Mia gave her a look "Don't call my beautiful cat a thing. His name is Eth"

  "Eth?" Elle asked sitting up on the bed.

"Yes, Eth. As in Ethan" Mia replied while stroking the cat's body.

  Elle sighed and pointed at the door "Get out!".

  Mia glared at her "Aren't you forgetting something miss CEO?"

   Elle gave her a questioning look "What is it? Anything I don't know of?"

   Mia facepalmed herself "God Elle, don't tell me you've forgotten about the shopping today".

  Elle looked at Mia like she suddenly grew two heads "Go away Mia" Elle laid back on the bed.

   "Not happening," Mia said climbing on the bed with her cat. she dragged Elle's legs while her cat licked her face. 

Elle hastily stood up when the cat licked her face "Fine! let's go"

Mia let out a yes while the cat was running around the bed in excitement.

   Elle and Mia went to the mall before coming back after five hours of Mia picking what she called the perfect dress and accessories.

   Returning to the office Mia said they were also going to the spa tomorrow.

"I feel like you're marrying me off" Elle complained with Mia hushing her "You have to look perfectly beautiful tomorrow night".

"Yeah, I forgot you are going to meet your famous Ethan" Elle retorted.
