CHAYSE POV
Well, it worked.
I followed, running into the nearby town where wolves crowded over stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. She halted, and I slowed down to a walk, walking beside her into a coffee shop. I gawked at the smells inside that overwhelmed me and almost drooled at how good everything looked and smelled.
"Chayse?" She snapped her fingers, getting me out of my trance. "Earth to Chayse!" I looked over at her and rolled my eyes.
"Everything just looks so good, so don't judge me!" I teased, lightly punching her arm playfully. She returned the punch, and I smirked, going to the register to order.
"I would like a chocolate flavor cappuccino with whipped cream and cinnamon on top."
"Coming right up, Luna," the female replied, pouring in some chocolate syrup and caramel syrup, then adding coffee, making it all seem so fancy. She quickly put the whipped cream on top, then sprinkled the spice to perfection.
"There you go, Luna. Just for you." I went to get out my money, but the woman stopped me.
"No need, you are our Luna, Miss. Anything for you." I smiled kindly at her and thanked her quickly so that Caroline could order.
We sat down at an outside table, taking in the sun and the coffee.
"So, how are things so far with Xander?" Caroline asked, resting her head on her propped-up fist. I shrugged.
"Fine, I guess. I tried to trick him a couple of times to go home, but it didn't work out so well. He always managed to know where I was headed," I replied, stirring the cinnamon and whipped cream into the soft liquid. To me, it made the drink creamier.
"Well, that's just the mate's bond," she replied, downing her coffee quickly. I shrugged again.
"We haven't seen our wolves yet, and my wolf is desperate for me to shift," I say, feeling Aria begging to shift. The full moon was close, and that's when I had to be wary of Alpha's actions. Our emotions get heightened, and so does everything else.
Surely, he will think to mark me before the full moon in two days. His wolf won't let him resist, but I can't blame him for that.
With more wolf bloodline than the rest of the pack, the Alpha, the Luna, the Beta, and the Delta all have to deeply try to control our wolves. It is always hard, but I succeeded every year.
"We can shift today if you'd like. Out in the woods after we get some more clothes for you. You know, formal ones," she sighs. "My wolf is itching to shift as well."
"What rank are you?"
"Well, technically I am a Delta that won't become a Beta, but I am Xander's sister, so I have Alpha bloodlines," she said, lifting herself.
I finished the rest of my coffee and threw the cup in the trash, content with the amount I had consumed. Well, the rest is the past. Dress shopping isn't something I enjoy, but shifting was something I could look forward to.
We made our way into the forest on the other side of the Alpha house and the Pack houses. It was the biggest and thickest forest I have come to see, and that excited Aria deeply. She was growling inside to shift.
Caroline went behind a bush, and so did I, stripping myself of my clothes and shifting quickly. I have come to find myself shifting faster and faster with the times I shift. Shifting is something normal for me. A habit. I used to shift every morning and go for a run as a part of my cardio training.
My white wolf stepped out from the bushes, and I saw a white wolf with red tones and amber eyes staring at me. She huffed and sniffed me, noticing that I was Chayse. I did the same and found that it was Caroline..
She went into playing position, and I found myself tackling her to the ground, triumphantly curling my tail to the lower part of my back like a husky would. I let her up, and she grunted, slightly frustrated how I won our little game so easily. She ran, moving towards a body of water.
I followed, but before I knew it, my paws reached shallow water. A small stream that was very wide.
Small creatures lived here, like tadpoles. I stuck my muzzle in the water and threw it up again, making it feel like a little bit of rain was dripping down my fur. Caroline let out a peppy snort and rolled around in the water, her pelt soaking wet.
I let out a wolfy grin, my teeth forming the smile. Caroline found a smaller fish and grabbed it by the tail and flung it at me, throwing the fish at my face. It wiggled on my nose for a moment as I stood, blinking, before it fell back into the water. I grunted and mind-linked her.
"What was that for?"
"I don't know, just having fun."
She paused, her ears lifted, and her nose stuck up in the air. My heart tugged at me, my nose catching a scent that I would never forget. My heart now hammered as a huge black wolf with the brightest blue eyes emerged from the undergrowth, his paws barely getting wet from the stream.
He growled at Caroline, and she ran off, leaving us alone. I gulped as he sniffed, taking in my scent, then rubbing up against me. He's staking claim.
He nipped slightly behind my ear and licked my neck, taking in more of my scent. His wolf was almost in control, and I could barely control mine as well as he continued to press his nose into my neck and lick my face.
I decided to give into his affection for once and lick his nose. His surprised look made me give him a confused look. He wasn't pinning me down or anything, just simply showing me affection, and I respected that. That's when he was able to earn my affection back.
He pressed his side up against mine, and I could feel Aria trying to talk to Xander's wolf. Xander slightly growled, and I pressed the perch of my head underneath his jaw inside the crook of his neck, comfortably resting there. His satisfied grunt made Aria push harder for control. And I let her.
Since Chayse let me take over, I decided to be daring. Alpha was fully aware that Chayse let me take over, and he did the same, his eyes glowing brighter. I licked his neck, and he growled viciously, making me grunt with satisfaction. He caressed my ear, licking my inner and outer ear softly.
I never knew Xander's wolf, Hunter, had so much control. Well, and then he didn't. He pushed me down to the ground, the stream water only barely touching my ears. I let Chayse back into control.
Xander was on top of me, and I bolted away, shifting quickly and pulling on my clothes before walking inside the Alpha house and sitting on the couch.
Well, I guess my time with Caroline was short, but I'll see her again, I know it. Xander came in about ten minutes later, his wolf still hardly under control. I smirked, knowing that I was the reason he could barely keep himself under control, and lay down, covering myself with a blanket.
CHAYSE POV Jonathan is a handful ever since Xander left for work. I have training later today with the elites again, but I have to make sure Jonathan knows Caroline before I leave her alone with him. Unfortunately, he is the wolf I cannot have control over. I took him to the doctor and he found nothing wrong with Jonathan. He can just shift easily with little pain. The Moon Goddess has blessed him dearly. Xander, of course, doesn't like that he is not of our blood, but I do feel attached to the boy. At five his sibling dead, his parents gone... He's been through more than I have and that's pretty bad. Caroline is in the living room with Jonathan playing with the action figures that he wanted when we went to the store to get him one clothes. I also ended up buying a lot more ice cream and macaroni and cheese. What can I say? I have a problem that cannot be fixed. I can as well eat ice cream for breakfast into my sixties. I came out of the kitchen, lazinness overcoming me. I had
CHAYSE POVI breathed heavily, Xander on my heels. My tongue rolled from my jaws, gasping for air to cool me off. Then there was a sound from the pile. I immediately halted, my paws sliding against the dirt. The forest is plush, thick, and smelled like Xander did. We came home yesterday after the workout. Xander insisted. And so, here we are, me training with Xander and his high elite wolves. I leapt over a log, my paws splashing the water in the small stream of water on the other side.Xander growled as I sped up, feeling the air rushing at my face. I looked behind me, Xander having a stern look, but the soldiers looking exhausted. I ran for fun, so I didn't think about training when running. It helped me with my endurance. I turned my head back around and jumped over a pile of rocks that some other animal had collected. And the rest passed, but I turned around, slowly moving towards the pile. Whimpers were heard from the pile. Wolf whimpers. My eyes widened and I sighed at the pil
CHAYSE POV I had shifted and slept fine, despite the fact that Xander was staring at me constantly. He held me closer to his torso, waist height tugged closer to him by the second. I had to push him away sometimes to make sure he wouldn't crush me. "Little Mate, I am not going to let you go, so give it up and just let me crush you with my arms," he teased. He pulled me to him and lay a tender kiss on my neck, seductively whispering in my ear. I calm down and breath lightly, not caring anymore that he was crushing me. I moan slightly when he started to lick over my mark, his touch sending sparks on my skin and shivers down my spine. My heart raced as he continued, gripping onto my hips. I reach behind me and my fingers instantly latch into his hair. A growl rises deep from his throat and the husky sound makes me smile. His hand reached underneath my shirt and up my back, his fingers softly sliding on my skin. I tug slightly on his hair and he starts to slide my shirt upward until
CHAYSE POVI moved swiftly back to the Beta house, my arms flying around my father. "I am so sorry," he whispered, petting my head softly, comforting me. "Come on, let's go to the sunrise." Xander growled, but I growl back, silencing him and nearly humiliating him in front of my former pack. "Looks like the Luna is becoming the Alpha," he whispered into my ear. I smirk and lightly punch his arm.The sunrise is a beautiful mountain that me and my father always climbed every Saturday morning. We sat on the mountain and watched the sunrise while he challenged me to do different things like slide down the steepest part of the mountain without falling or beat him in climbing the tallest tree up there.I found the small stairway that were there before you got to the rocky pathway and difficult slopes. The roots were the stairs sometimes, sticking out of the ground and creating grips. Father led me upward, up the more difficult path we took every once in a while. It burned going upward,
CHAYSE POVOkay, I never thought giving birth would be this painful. I was experiencing some third degree burns in my abdomen. Well, what the hell? I was in the car, Xander speeding towards the pack hospital. Resting in the backseat, yelling for him to go faster. I was in yoga pants and a large shirt while Xander was in a shirt and jeans, his hair tousled. It's late."Go faster, Xander!"I demanded, as I felt a rush of pain flowing through me. He looked back at me quickly with worried eyes before hitting the gear, the car bursting forward. He suddenly hit the brakes, carrying me into the hospital and setting me in the wheelchair. The doctors wheeled me away, taking me through swinging doors and another large double doors. Another shot of pain came to my stomach and I screamed, biting my tongue until it bled. The nurses noticed."Contraction number seven, sir. She's close," she yelled to the doctor down the hall. "There might be a small complication, but we can handle it!"My breath
CHAYSE'S POV Now Xander is going to be more protective and way more mushy. I mumbled unladylike things to myself and moved to the fridge. Oh, the sweet taste of cookies. I pulled the chocolate ice cream from the fridge and sat on the couch, enjoying what it once was in it's full glory. I ate it straight from the carton, letting the first scoop melt in my mouth. My stomach had a satisfied feeling from the months of limited food. I grabbed everything in the fridge and started making the strangest combinations. What if I wrapped the big pickle in bacon then stuck it in chocolate ice cream with Hershey syrup...? I shrugged and did exactly that. I wrapped the pickle in the warm and crispy bacon, smelling it's strange scent.I shoved it in my ice cream and covered it in the ice cream and the syrup. I finally scooped it with my spoon. I took it all in my mouth and chewed, the flavor bursting in my mouth. It tastes so good!I stabbed the pickle again and shoved it in my mouth again. I was
