LOGINXANDER LAVEN'S POV
She drove me crazy. Sure, I have found other women attractive, but Chayse... Damn... I can't control myself around her, especially when she teased me and ran off.
To be honest, it made me way more attracted to her, and my wolf always howled when she does that. I have found her biting her lower lip without her noticing, and it makes my wolf's heart pound harder than ever before.
Earlier, when she let her wolf take over, I knew I was doing something right: not forcing anything upon her.
I almost couldn't even do that. It is too hard not to claim her already, place my kiss upon her pink lips, trace my fingers down her body, and have her all to me—to no one else but me. I almost feel guilty about taking her away from her brother, but she is mine, no one else's.
I wish I didn't treat her like my property, but the mate's bond wishes me to be too possessive. I ran my hand through my hair multiple times, making it look like I was in a major fight.
At least I was trying with her, unlike my pack. I was taught to be strict with them, and that's why we're the leading pack in the entire country. I wasn't wanting a mate.
This was my last year at that dreaded gathering, and I was prepared to go to an unmated pack female to bear an heir to my pack, but then Chayse was there in a revealing blue dress, her brown hair in waves past her shoulders. Her eyes were brown with a hint of green on the inner rim. I almost grinned at how she defended her fudge, but I was infuriated.
I let that go when I saw her hurt. I hated seeing her tears. My wolf growled at the memory, so I went down the stairs, thanking the Moon Goddess that I still owned a regular shirt and some sweatpants.
I saw Chayse on the couch, her lips parted and her hair cascading over her face, her arms spread out, and one of her legs was on top of the back of the couch. Her blanket covered half of her torso and was strung above the top of her legs.
Her black leggings showed her gorgeous figure and made my wolf urge to mark her. I contained him inside of me and lay behind her, positioning her so that we were spooning. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close, whispering into her ear.
"Oh Chayse, my Little Mate. You don't know how much you have changed me already. I love you, I need you, I couldn't live without you. You are my treasure, and I will never let you go."
I felt her breathing hitch, and I sucked in a breath, knowing she was awake.
She smirked and chuckled in her sleep.
"Oh, shut up," I growled before shoving my nose in the crook of her neck and took a final huge breath before I felt her snuggle up closer to me.
"Now you're speaking my language," she whispered before falling back to sleep. I raised my eyebrows and shrugged before falling asleep with her.
CHAYSE POV
I woke and looked up at my mate. I'm glad he's changed, well, to me at least. It was actually pretty quick that he changed towards me. He didn't seem merciless to me; otherwise, I was only seeing one side of Xander.
I kissed his neck before getting out of his arms to continue to the kitchen. I pulled the Pumpkin bread that lay on the counter suspiciously.
Knew you would need this in the morning. Saw you and my brother together and decided not to bother.
Just left your house peacefully.
-The best she-wolf in the entire pack
I grabbed the loaf and moved back to the couch, where Xander was still sleeping. I looked at the clock and found that it was five in the morning, a time nearly forbidden for my brain to wake up on. I frowned and stuffed some pumpkin bread in my mouth, and went into Xander's—our—bedroom and slipped off my clothes to prepare to shift.
To be honest, I couldn't sleep if I woke up in my human form, but my wolf can sleep almost on command. So I shifted and padded back down the stairs, laying next to Xander's sleeping form and cuddling into his chest for warmth.
I felt arms curling around my sides, and a gasp left Xander's lips in shock, but he embraced me and started to pet my head gently, making my eyes flutter back closed.
Though after a while, I felt that the petting stopped and my warmth changed. I looked back and saw a black wolf, sleeping beside me. Aria grinned deviously inside of me, and I pushed her away, closing my eyes and gently falling to sleep.
The full moon is tomorrow, and I found Xander struggling to get off of me. The full moon is tomorrow, and I definitely didn't want to get out of the house. Since the Blood Moon Pack was filled with more pure bloodlines, all the wolves are probably anxious.
Xander locked himself in his office, his Alpha bloodlines munching at his wolf. I decided to get my phone and play the Alexander Hamilton playlist on Spotify as loud as I could.
"Excuse me, are you Aaron Burr, sir?"
"That depends, who's asking?"
"Oh sure, sir. I'm Alexander Hamilton, I'm at your service, sir, I have been looking for you."
"I'm getting nervous."
I swayed my hips to the beat and danced around like I was each of the characters: Aaron Burr, Alexander Hamilton, Hercules Mulligan, Marquis de Lafayette. Great American people... Well, Alexander is on my mind. I continued to dance until the song, Blow Us All Away, where Philip Hamilton died in a duel.
My wolf whined, and I started to cry. Darned wolf emotions during the full moon. Everything is harder on my brain during this time, and when Philip was shot, I shouted. "PHILIP, NO!!" I heard thundering footsteps and then hands on my shoulders.
"Who the hell is Philip?" he growled, his lips against my ear and his hands crushing my shoulders. I winced and stared into his golden eyes.
"Was he here?" he growled, his minty breath in my face.
"Philip Hamilton, died in the 1800s because of a duel," I explained, smirking. "In the play Alexander Hamilton."
He growls and lets go of my shoulders in realization of what I'm talking about. He kissed my forehead, then made a deep growl of lust. My eyes widened as I remembered about his extra heightened wolf control.
His lips moved down my face and to my neck, his wolf fighting. I was frozen, Aria keeping me in place. Xander moved his lips upward to my lips, our lips battling for dominance.
But, his wolf kept wanting to move to my neck. Well, he succeeded.
I felt him lip and suck on one spot before I panicked, but Xander's hands snaked around my waist, holding me to him. His sharp canines penetrated my soft, tender skin, and I gasped as he bit harder, drawing blood.
He marked me. Xander marked me. He licked the bite until it was done bleeding, and he pulled away, his golden eyes filled with pleasure, but his eyes also showing a small bit of regret.
"You marked me," I whispered breathlessly. He nodded and held me close.
"You marked me," I whispered again. Now I felt more attracted to him than before. He looked down at me with regret.
"I have to leave you, Chayse," he stated softly, cupping my cheek. I looked up at him with saddened eyes.
"Why?" I ask.
He sighs and digs his head in the nape of my neck. He inhales deeply.
"The Amber Sky Pack is having some problems, and I was personally invited to discuss it before it further hurts the rest of the packs."
"Then why can't I go? That was my former pack, and my brother should be Beta by now, and I want to see him, and—" He put a hand over my mouth.
"Only if you stay out of Alpha business, Little Mate. I don't want to scare you." I narrow my eyes at him.
"Scare me? My mother died because of rogue wolves, her body being ripped apart in front of me. My father came back from a battle with the largest wound down his sides and ribs, blood pouring down it. I have seen the light of battle where wolves drop like flies around you. I know what it feels like to be the only one alive from your troop, everyone else dead!" I growled.
Xander raised his eyebrows, but then looked into my eyes with sincerity. I shrugged.
"Just saying, you won't scare me, but I'll stay out of your business."
He nodded and kissed me softly before moving away and went back into his office. I, on the other hand, moved to the bathroom to see the bite he gave me.
It reeked of mint, and the bite was bright pink, pink surrounding the bite as well. I wiped it with a towel, letting my wolf healing let it scar. Now his bite was permanently on my neck, forever binding me to Xander.
NATHAN'S POV I found her on the porch of her house a day later, her eyes red and swollen. Her hair rolled down her back, ungroomed but still socially acceptable. She wore a large sweatshirt, not showing off her figure at all. She rested her head on her palms, occasionally wiping away her tears. I started walking towards her, my footsteps steady. She didn't look up or even acknowledge me. I sat next to her and brushed her hair out of her face and she suddenly stopped looking out at the pack and leaned against me, her back against my chest and her head underneath my chin. She was shorter than me, so I rested my chin on the top of her head and grabbed her hands on either sides of her, letting them drop into her lap. Her hair was soft against my skin, the smell of her overwhelming.Tears steamed down her face, her emotions letting go. "She left, Nathan. She left for River and she said I had an opportunity." I watched the gray clouds form in the sky as she was speaking, her voice like
AMBER'S POV Nathan was coming over to us, his side long and his lean muscles apparent. There was a time- maybe a few hours ago -that I wanted Nathan to be my mate. But now I have River, and now Lyka has Nathan. He wrapped an arm around Lyka's waist, Lyka obviously not liking it, but too focused on our conversation to care. Nathan looked over at me with a mischievous smirk that Lyka often had when competing. I gave a slight nod, not noticeable enough for Lyka to notice I was nodding at Nathan.Nathan leaned his face into Lyka's neck, kissing softly underneath her ear. Lyka seemed like putty in Nathan's arms, her slumping slightly and leaning into Nathan more. Her hate died down slightly for a few moments before she jerked away from Nathan, touching the spot he kissed. I laugh, River coming to me and wrapping his arm around my waist and watching the two in front of us. Lyka looked shocked, disgusted, but loved. It was a feeling unfamiliar to her after Mason, the first guy she showed
CHARLIE'S POVI ran as fast as I could across the fields in the Amber Sky Pack and through the woods until I couldn't see the Amber Sky Pack buildings anymore. I sighed and started to walk, my white dress lightly brown at the edges from the diet in the ground. I didn't care though. I saw familiar golden eyes and knew that I was in trouble."Dad, I promise, I can explain-" "Charlie, you went when I specifically told you not to," he growled. "Your Mother was killed because of those wolves there this year and I can't let you be exposed to them." That's when I broke down into tears. I wanted to tell my dad that I met my mate- someone that he would hate. He noticed my tears and hugged me tightly. "Oh honey, my dear Charlie... You'll meet your mate eventually under the right conditions. I met your mother when I joined the rebellion, and then I knew she was mine.""But, Dad, you don't understand," I cry into his shoulder, his shirt now wet with my tears."What don't I understand, Charlie
LYKA'S POV I held Amber's hand as we walk into the party, people dancing and drinking all around me. I skink carefully past people in the crowd, trying not to be noticed. But, unfortunately, a red dress is a bold move and it just so happens to be the color that stands out from he black and white dresses and suits that everyone was wearing.Men were staring hungrily at me and I glared at them, but that only made them smirk and fueled the fire, so I decided to ignore them. Amber trailed behind me, her dress exposing her leg so much that men were also trying to touch her. Then a man came in between her and the next man that tried to touch her, growling with threatening eyes. He was attractive, his blue eyes matching his dark brown hair. His skin was tan, but slightly lighter like he doesn't tan easily at this time if the year."No one touches my mate like that, you perverts," he growled to the other man. He placed an arm protectively around Amber and held her to his side, still glarin
LYKA'S POV Axel and I turned eighteen five months, but neither of us have found our mates.Thankfully, neither of us are really bothered by the fact the our mates aren't close enough to us. It left room for our training- Axel especially being the next Alpha and all. Dad won't stop hounding him about it. I'm sure Dad thinks that Axel will be a fine Alpha, but he's over preparing him for it so when he does get the task, it would seem easy.Pretty smart plan, I should say.Let me update you on a few things. I haven't heard from the man that Mason now is since we broke up nearly five years ago. Nathan is going to be Axel's Beta, and he's perfect for it. A natural born leader like Axel and he takes charge in situations where others might cower in fear. I have to be honest, I admired that about him. I have been studying Tactics. More specifically, Battle Tactics. What the enemy will do no matter how large. A whole pack or one wolf, I was trained to look ahead and know what they're about t
XANDRIA'S POVFor the first time since I put my acceptance letter in the mail, I woke up this morning ashamed of my alma mater. The first rays of golden light touched the hillside, still wet with dew, each tiny droplet singing out in a rainbow of colors.Seen from the air in the lemony light of dawn, the place has an almost mystical quality about it. I loved every bit of it as I looked out of the window to see the fog covering everywhere except for the little shrubbery by the window frame. The only vivid colour was in the bays where waterlilies flowered, the rest was just like any other day but much spectacular than I could ever imagine. I just couldn't help but admire the natural allure it gave. The naturist vibes was not off to me since I was a force of nature myself; a werewolf in the making. It was only a matter of time to decide if I'll become ferocious or end up being a docile chump.I woke up in my bed, snores coming from beside me. I felt a heavy arm draped over my waist and l
