LIAM'S POV The doctor came back to give Xandria her medications a few hours after Maria left to go home. She needed to see her mate and get some sleep without worrying about her Alpha. I guess she trusted me to be there at all times. He wore a white coat like most of them were required to wear, but underneath some dress pants, some old dress shoes, and a polo shirt. His glasses were square on the top of his nose, making the rest of his face look much bigger than it actually was. "Alpha Liam," he said, bowing his head. As he looked up at me once more, there was a green flash in his eyes. I had seen this once before when I visited the Northern Mountain Pack that eventually joined with the Blood Moon Pack. LIAM'S POVIt's been four days.Four days since my love had been called officially unconscious- like we couldn't tell before.I had been waiting beside her for all this time, holding her hand or kissing her forehead. Whenever Maria came in, she would bring a single rose. She said it was placed on her doorstep every morning with a card with Xandria's name on it. One showed up every day, each either red or white. LIAM'S POVI ran to them, kneeling to look at Maria. "Maria. What happened? Is Xandria okay?" Maria looked up at me, her eyes filed with tears. "Xandria... She... She's ..." Maria gasped, trying to catch her breath once more. She pointed to a large pile on concrete with a car leaning on it, no driver seeming to be inside. The air in my lungs gets knocked out of me as I realize what she's saying. I don't hesitate to go to the pile and push the car off, no help required. It was like the Moon Goddess wanted me to get to Xandria. I pulled off the concrete piece by piece until I saw a hand. A soft hand covered in the dust from the concrete. It only encouraged me to dig harder. Now Maria joined me, digging and crying all at the same time. As we dug, more wolves watched as we uncovered Xandria, praying to the Moon Goddess that she was alive. Maria uncovered her legs while I found her torso and her face.
