"Mira darling "he called out dropping his bag and offing his jacket. "Yes pa "Mira answered from inside. Within a few minutes Mira was downstairs,her face beamed with smile when she saw her dad ,she ran over to hug him and he smiled at her. "You know how happy I am seeing you smile "Mr Dennis said stroking Mira's hair and hugging her too "I missed you dad "Mira said softly "I miss her too Mira .....look Mira" Mr Dennis pulled her away from him "Mira" he continued "you know moving to crescent Ave mean well for us both right?" He paused and looked at her as if trying to read her mind "You are going to love it there my darling I promise" Mr Dennis hugged her tightly and Mira hugged him too,she was happy he was there for her and that made her feel good. "Now go get ready for dinner pa"Mira said smiling and pulling herself away from her dad "oh you are making dinner Mira?" Mr Dennis said smiling and pointing at Mira "Yes pa,I decided to make something special for you since it's our last day here in this house "Mira said cheerfully and made her way to the kitchen. She turned and her eye met with that of her dad ,he looked happy,Mira was going to do everything to make him happy,she was also doing it for herself she couldn't and wouldn't watch her dad look so sad ,so she is trying everything to make them forget about ma. "PA go take your shower you stink and dont forget to grab the brown envelope you brought home "Mira said while pushing him towards the stairs "go pa"she said looking at him with a smile forming on her face "Fine fine you won't baby"mr Dennis said and made his way upstairs,he was glad he had her. **************************** MIRA "It was morning,the sun was up and the rays of the sun reflect on my face ,it felt warm and comfortable, I couldn't open my eyes cause I didn't want to wake up ,but then I remebered I was moving today damn " I stood up almost immediately and rushed to the window ,my pa was already ready and he was about calling my name when I rushed to the restroom and started preparing for the trip. The shower was warm and I loved it ,while bathing I Wondered what crescent Eve would be like I was happy I was moving at least the beach there was nice so I heard,I was lost in my imagination when I heard a knock on my door "Baby are you up?" "In a minute dad"i answered from the bathroom . In a few minutes I was out ,my hair up in a pony tail,I was on a flora pink dress with spaghetti hand and I was wearing a black flat shoe . "I am ready pa"I said and went into the car "Took you long enough damsel"mr Dennis replied smiling before entering the car. I was starting to miss the little house and my dad noticed "It will only get better cutie pie " dad assured me . I smiled and he drove off . ******* The road was a rough one ,I was happy dad was with me and I never taught I would feel much better after ma's death. "Mira would you like to grab a bite "dad was cute when he asked me if I was hungry he always tried his best to be the best and I loved that about him . "Sure pa "I replied smiling . We stopped by at dodo's eatery and grabbed a peanut butter sandwich each. After eating dad and I went back to the car and the journey continues. Soon we were at crescent Ave and goddamn it was so beautiful. As they drove into Crescent Avenue, Mira's eyes widened with wonder. The city unfolded before her like a canvas of vibrant colors and eclectic charm. The streets were lined with towering palm trees, their leaves swaying gently in the breeze. The buildings were a mix of modern and vintage architecture, with intricate designs and ornate details. As they cruised down the main street, Mira spotted a quaint little bookstore with a sign that read "Moonlit Pages." The store's windows were filled with stacks of books, and the door was adorned with a beautiful wooden sign that creaked in the wind. Mira felt an instant connection to the place and made a mental note to visit it soon. The city's soundscape was a symphony of car horns, chatter, and the distant hum of the ocean. Mira's ears perked up as they passed by a street performer who was playing a soulful melody on his guitar. The music seemed to match the rhythm of her heartbeat, and she felt a sense of belonging wash over her. As they turned onto a side street, Mira caught a glimpse of the ocean. The waves sparkled in the sunlight, and the salty air filled her lungs. She felt a sense of peace wash over her, and her worries about the move began to fade away. "Wow, Pa, this place is amazing!" Mira exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. Mr. Dennis smiled, happy to see his daughter's enthusiasm. "I told you, kiddo. Crescent Avenue has a special kind of magic. You'll love it here." As they strolled down the street, Mira's gaze wandered to a group of people chatting outside a café. Her eyes landed on a tall, dark-haired guy around her age, and she felt a sudden jolt of curiosity. He had his back to her, but the way he laughed and tossed his hair caught her attention. Mira's eyes lingered on him, taking in the broad shoulders and casual posture. Before she could get a good look at his face, he turned and disappeared into the crowd. Mira felt a pang of disappointment, but her heart was still racing from the brief glimpse. Mr. Dennis, who had been watching her reaction, chuckled and nudged her playfully. "Hey, kiddo, I think someone caught your eye, huh?" he teased, grinning. Mira's face flushed, and she quickly looked away, trying to play it cool. "What? No, Pa, don't be ridiculous. I was just... um... looking at the architecture," she stammered, trying to deny the obvious. Mr. Dennis laughed, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Save it, Mira. I've seen that look before. You're a teenager now, and the world is full of interesting things – including cute boys." Mira rolled her eyes, trying to hide her embarrassment. "Pa, stop it. You're so embarrassing." Mr. Dennis chuckled and ruffled her hair. "I'm just teasing, sweetie. But I have to say, I'm glad to see you're noticing the world around you. You're growing up, and it's okay to have crushes." Mira shook her head, laughing despite herself. "You're impossible, Pa." She knew she lied he was cute .CHAPTER 51 The campus was bathed in the soft glow of streetlights, casting a warm ambiance over the lush greenery and modern buildings. Mira and Ethan walked hand in hand, their footsteps synchronized as they strolled through the quiet paths. The evening air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the distant chirping of crickets provided a soothing background melody. They had just left the fountain, where they had made their wishes and sealed their love with a kiss. The world seemed perfect, wrapped in the magic of their reunion. Mira's eyes sparkled as she glanced at Ethan, her heart still fluttering from the romantic moment they shared. Ethan's smile mirrored hers, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he squeezed her hand. They walked in comfortable silence, the only sound being the rustling of leaves and the soft creaking of tree branches. Meanwhile, under the sprawling oak tree near the soccer field, Tyler's friends huddled closer, their voices barely above a
CHAPTER 50 The door to Mira's dorm slammed shut behind Tyler with a resounding thud, echoing down the empty hallway like a final punctuation to the chaotic scene inside. He clutched his jaw, the sharp sting from Ethan's punch throbbing in rhythm with his bruised ego. Blood still trickled from his split lip, and he wiped it away with the back of his hand, tasting the metallic tang. Outside, the campus was alive with the soft hum of evening activity—students laughing in the quad, the distant strum of a guitar from an open window, the golden hues of sunset casting long shadows across the manicured lawns. Tyler stormed down the path, his dark skin flushed with anger, his mind racing to spin the narrative before anyone could question him. His friends were waiting at their usual spot: a cluster of benches under a sprawling oak tree near the soccer field. There was Jamal, lanky and quick-witted, always ready with a joke; Marcus, built like a linebacker with a protective streak a mile wide;
Chapter 49 The crisp autumn air swirled golden leaves outside Ethan’s window, each one a fleeting reminder of the months spent apart from Mira. His blonde hair fell into his eyes as he zipped up his suitcase, heart pounding with anticipation. The distance between them—she at Evergreen University on the east coast, he in their small hometown tying up loose ends—had stretched their love thin, like a thread pulled taut. Late-night video calls and heartfelt texts couldn’t replace the warmth of her touch, the way her laughter made his world brighter. But now, everything was about to change. Ethan had applied to Evergreen in secret, pouring his soul into essays about his love for environmental science, inspired by Mira’s fiery passion for the world’s causes. When the acceptance email arrived two weeks ago, he’d nearly knocked over his laptop in excitement. “Hell yeah,” he’d whispered, fist-pumping the air. This was his chance to close the gap, to surprise Mira and rebuild their life toge
CHAPTER 48MIRAMira walked away from Tyler, her steps steady but her heart still racing from the confrontation. The cool evening air brushed against her skin, grounding her as she made her way back to her dorm. She felt a strange mix of emotions—relief for finally setting boundaries with Tyler, but also a lingering unease. His kiss had caught her off guard, and though she’d pushed him away, the audacity of it left a bitter taste in her mouth. She shook her head, determined to let it go. Ethan was her future, and she wasn’t about to let Tyler’s persistence cloud that.As she reached her dorm, her phone buzzed in her pocket. It was a text from Ethan: “Just checking in, love. You okay? Miss you.” Mira smiled, her heart warming at his words. She quickly typed a reply: “I’m okay, just dealt with some stuff. Miss you too. Call you soon?”She slipped into her room and sank onto her bed, staring at the ceiling. she noticed some bags and guessed her roommate Sarah was sure to be here already.
CHAPTER 47MIRAmira sat beside her window she was worried. she was thinking about Tyler now, him coming into her life is going to change a lot of things between her and Ethan and she didn't want that to happen. she sat close to her window wandering how life was for Ethan over there,she also thought about Tyler was doing.she got her phone and dialed Ethan's number they were both talking when she started hearing some sounds outside. she heard some voices outside her room she went outside after hanging up, she was only surprised to see Tyler and his friends holding gifts with a big banner and boldly with on the banner was " will you be my girlfriend again ?mira?"Mira was shocked she taught of what to do but couldn't."Run Mira run" she taughtAs Mira ran out of sight, she couldn't believe what she had just seen. CHAPTER 46MIRAAs Mira walked around her room, getting ready for her lecture, she couldn't help but think about the conversation she had with Tyler the day before. She was still trying to process her emotions and figure out why he was being so persistent.When she left her dorm, Mira made sure to look down and avoid eye contact with anyone who might be lingering around. But as she walked, she caught a glimpse of Tyler flirting with a girl with blonde hair. He turned and stared at her, calling out "Amor, are you awake yet?" Mira ignored him and walked away, thinking to herself that he would never change.After a long day of lectures, Mira decided to take a tour around the school to clear her mind. As she was walking, she saw Tyler sitting on a long bench, pressing his phone. She tried to walk past him, but he called out to her again.
