The horrible week had finally come to an end and it was finally time for me to go back to my bakery…..a chance to get away from Duncan at least.

I was all dressed and ready to go in my usual t-shirt, blue jeans and sneakers. I started at myself in the mirror as I put my hair in a neat bun before grabbing my things and heading out the room.

As soon I closed my door, I ran into Duncan heading towards the stairs.

“Good morning” I muttered

“Good morning” he surprisingly replied, heading down the stairs, all dressed up for work.

“He didn't even ask where I was going” I whispered to myself.

I knew he hated me, but he could have at least pretended to be concerned.

I made my way downstairs, and headed out the house as I noticed him in front of his black SUV, typing away on his phone like he usually does.

The security, including the driver acknowledged my presence as I passed by them, greeting in sync.
