AUSTIN'S POV

"What do you have to say? How dare you talk about that day again, Adrian?" I asked him, disappointment obvious in my tone. "Do you know what my only regret is?" I asked but didn't wait for him to reply. "It's that I didn't hand you over to those policemen then and that I didn't tell my mother or anyone about what you did to my father!' I yelled, grabbing his clothes.

"Do you even know why I did that?" A bitter smile lingered on my lips. "It's because..." I stopped and laughed bitterly, tears rolling down my eyes "Even though I saw you killing my father, I still saw you as a friend. I still wanted to protect my only friend and even though I knew my father would hate me for it, I chose you over my father, Adrian!" I yelled, pushing him away.

I staggered backwards as more tears rolled down my eyes. I had been finding it difficult to accept that word since I lost my father. I couldn't believe that I really chose Adrian over my father as it was the silliest thing a kid could h
