I'M JEALOUS

After hearing Brooke's words, Elena felt hurt. When he left the room, she quickly changed into proper clothes and ran out of the villa. Meanwhile, Kyle was directed to the anteroom where he had a meeting with the men responsible for making burial arrangements. He didn't notice when Elena ran out. Once he finished the meeting, he returned to his room, but Brooke stopped him before he could enter.

"Kyle, I need to talk to you," Brookes said.

Frustrated, Kyle replied, "Come on, Brookes. You can't keep being hung up on the same issue. I know what you want to say, and I'm not going to stop."

"But think about it, not only will you get hurt, but she will also get hurt. As much as I don't want to feel sorry for her because she's a desperado, as I said, I don't want you to turn into the kind of man you wouldn't recognize. This game you're playing is wrong. This is not the Kyle I know."

Kyle sighed, "Listen, stop saying things like this. If Elena hears you, she will become worried. I cannot give up now, and whatever happens, I'll compensate her when the time comes, okay?" After speaking, he left Brookes and went into the room. However, he couldn't find Elena. He quickly came out and stopped Brookes, who was about to enter his room.

"Hold on, did you see where Elena went?" Kyle asked.

Brookes replied, "I think she left."

"But how is that possible? How would she leave without saying anything to me? She was happy a few minutes ago." He stared at Brooke suspiciously. "Did you say something to her?"

Brooke did not reply, and Kyle instantly ran out to chase after Elena. On his way out, he was stopped by Samantha, who was waiting at the door. She held him and said, "Hold on, I know what you're trying to do."

"What am I trying to do, Sam?" Kyle asked.

Samantha replied, "You're trying to make me jealous. I'll admit, yes, I'm jealous, and you've succeeded. Can you stop now, Kyle?"

"What? What do you want from me, Sam? I'm trying to move on and be happy, and you're telling me to stop? Stop what exactly?"

"Come on, we both understand what's going on here. I know you don't love that girl. I know you're doing all that to make me jealous. I'm admitting to it. I'm jealous, so come on, stop it already," she said.

"Do not say these things to me again, especially in front of my girlfriend," Kyle told her. After speaking, he turned and left Samantha. He continued running until he reached Elena, who was now outside.

He held her hand and said, "Wait, Elena. What happened? Why did you leave just like that? I mean, you should know it's not proper for you to go without saying a word to me. I would be worried. Would you want me to be worried?"

Elena said, "I am sorry. It's just that after listening to your friend, I couldn't stay anymore."

"My friend Brookes, what did he say to you?"

Kyle thought about telling her the whole truth, that Brookes was right and he just needed her to act. But then his mind went back to Samantha, who had stopped him by the door, confessing her jealousy. He just had to act a little bit more, and he would get Samantha back.

If he told Elena the truth now, all his efforts would have been in vain. He smiled and said, "Come on, don't take Brookes seriously, he likes to pull pranks. He did it before with my ex-girlfriend."

"Really?"

"Yeah, that's who he is. But he's like a brother to me. Do not take his words seriously."

"Do you mean he was joking with me? But why would someone prank me or joke about something so serious? I mean, he knows and clearly saw that it did not make me happy." Elena complained.

"Just forget about him, okay?

Listen, you're important to me, and I love you. And like I said, I'm going to marry you."

"Promise," she asked.

He hesitated for a while and finally said, "Yes, I promise."

She smiled and hugged him, "Thank you so much, Kyle. You're making me so happy.

I need to go back home now. You know I stay with my stepmom, and of course, she would be thinking I spent the night outside being miserable and all. I still have chores to do too."

"So you'll quickly do your chores and come back here, right?" Kyle asked.

"You want me to come back?"

"Of course," Kyle replied. "I told you I enjoy your company and I want to spend so much time with you."

"Alright, in that case, when I'm done with my chores, I'll quickly come back here," she said.

"That sounds nice," Kyle replied. He pinched her cheeks, "Okay, run along then. I'll see you later."

As Elena excitedly ran away, Kyle's expression changed, and he said, "Oh, Kyle, what are you doing? Elena, I hope you can forgive me when the time comes. Please understand, I did it for love."

He turned and walked back into the house, recalling what Brookes had said to Elena and becoming very upset.

When he got into the house, he went straight to Brookes' room and said, "What the hell did you think you were doing? Why would you try to ruin my relationship with Elena? What is wrong with you, Brookes?"

"Come on, don't be this way." Brookes replied, "I am doing this for you."

"To hell with your concern."

"To hell with my concern? Well, if you do not want me here, I can always pack my bags and leave."

Kyle relaxed and softened his expression, "That's not what I'm saying."

"Yes, I know that's not what you mean, but I also want you to understand what I mean. I'm looking out for you, Kyle. I do not want you to do something that you will regret."

Kyle sighed, "Just don't get involved in my relationship with Elena. I have everything planned out and trust me, she will not get hurt in the end. Neither will I."

"Okay, but I think you're spending too much time plotting and planning with Elena and Samantha in the picture. You've forgotten the real reason why you came here," Brookes said.

"No, I am not," Kyle replied. "Just do not try to ruin my relationship with Elena. We are in a very good place, and once I achieve my desired result, I'll come clean before her and pay her off."

"Alright then, I guess I've done my best for you."

"Thank you," Kyle replied. After speaking, he walked away. Meanwhile, Elena kept walking until she arrived home. When she entered the house, both her stepmom and her half-siblings stared at her in surprise.

Her stepmom folded her arms and asked, "What is this, Elena? Why do you look like someone wealthy? We all know that you're the poorest thing in this community."

Elena smiled.

"You're smiling? I'm asking you a question, and you're smiling?" Her stepmom walked closer and wanted to slap her, but she took a step backward.

"I got a job," Elena replied.

"You got a job? What job? I punished you and asked you to spend the night outside, and you went to go and glam yourself up and do God knows what, and now you're saying you got a job? Okay, where are you working or where did you get a job at?"

"Well, I was employed by Master Kyle, the grandson of the owner of the villa who died," Elena explained.

"Oh my God!" her sister quickly got up. "His grandson, Kyle? Is he the one with brown hair?"

Elena confirmed, "Yes, yes, he's the one."

"Oh, Mom, he's my crush. Ever since I saw him. I haven't been able to think of anything else."

Elena was tempted to roll her eyes, but she knew that her stepmom was watching her expression, so she relaxed.

"So, is that why you're dressed so expensively?" her stepmom asked.

Elena replied, "Well, Kyle insisted on changing my wardrobe. He said if I'm to work there, I need to look like someone who works there."

Her sister asked eagerly, "So, what exactly is the nature of your job?"

Elena hesitated and then said, "Well, I cook in the kitchen and, uh, I clean his bedroom, wash his duvet in the machine, and all that."

Her sister exclaimed, "Which means you get a chance to speak to him, right?"

Elena shrugged and said, "Yeah, I do."

Her sister got up and ran to her side. She held her hands and said, "Please, convince him to talk to me. You know what, I want to get there. I want to be present at the burial. I've tried every means possible, but nothing has worked out.

Oh my God, this is such good news! Just talk to Kyle for me. If he agrees to let me come in, I'll be so happy. I'll get a chance to see him and speak to him.

Elena nodded, "Okay, I'll ask him about it. I need to get back to work. I just came to do my chores here at home."

Claire nodded and moved away, while Elena walked into the kitchen and began to wash the dishes.

When she reached the kitchen, she looked at her hands and shook her head. Claire had always treated her like trash, but today she held her hand because she wanted her to connect her to Kyle.

She smiled. Meanwhile, Claire and her brother began to gossip while their mom just stared at them.

"I can't believe this. How can someone like Elena get a job there, Mom? How did she do it? To even be allowed into that compound, no one in this community is. I heard even those allowed to serve at the burial are hired by a company. I'm so upset about this," Claire whined.

Her mom said, "Calm down."

Claire shook her head, "Why her? Why her? Look at her clothes. The clothes she is wearing must cost at least hundreds of dollars. Someone who can barely afford one dollar is putting on such expensive clothes."

From the kitchen, Elena heard their words and kept smiling as she carried out her chores.

"There's no need to be upset," Patricia said.

"Okay, Listen, Mom, you need to play along with Elena, so I can get what I want. I'll just butter her up, and make her happy until she connects me to Kyle."

Her mom sighed, "So this Kyle, is he the one you told me about earlier?"

"Yes, he's the one, Mom. He is so wealthy. Their family is the wealthiest in this community, and if I can get him to fall in love with me, oh, I'll be so happy."

"Not just that," her mom said. "If you can have him to yourself, your life will be perfect from here on. He'll take you to the big city, and you'll become one of those big girls. Our family will also be transformed.

You will send so much money to us. Even your brother will go to school in the big city. What we make here is not enough to give us that life, even though our family is not doing so badly. Listen to me, you need to seize this opportunity. Do not let it slip through your hands.

Now that you're buttering that loser up, do it very well. Get her by your side and make sure she convinces Kyle to get close to you. Once you do that, do not fail to work your charms on him.

I've taught you so much. I used it on your father, and it worked. You shouldn't lose out, not to someone like Elena."

"Why? Do you think Elena might want him for herself?" Claire asked.

"Come on, who doesn't want something good?" Her mom asked. "I do not trust her. Yes, she might be cleaning his bedroom, but she might offer him something even more."

"Well, Master Kyle didn't seem like the type to go for a cheap girl like Elena." Claire pointed out.

"Yes, she's a cheap girl, but have you seen what she's wearing? She doesn't look cheap in those clothes, and you know men. One or two things may happen, and before you know it, she would be lying on his bed with her legs wide open." Patricia explained.

"Come on, don't say such things, Mom. I don't even want to think about it. Besides, if Elena hears, she might change her mind about convincing Kyle about me."

Patricia scoffed, "Change her mind? I'll just kick her out of the house."

"Do not do that, Mom. If you kick her out, they will employ her full-time, and she'll start living there." Claire advised.

"Alright, fine. I'll not do anything to Elena for now. Go ahead, butter her up as much as you want, and make sure she connects you to Kyle, no matter what. Do not lose this chance."

Claire smiled, got up, and walked up to her mom, "I promise you, Mom, I will not fail you. I'll definitely get him to marry me. You have my word."
