CHAPTER 3: Fight like a master!

Last night’s dream wouldn’t leave me alone.

It wasn’t the first time I dreamed of someone in my room—watching, always watching—but last night felt different.

It wasn’t even a full moon.

And he didn’t just watch.

He kissed me. Or at least, tried to. I could still feel the phantom pressure of his lips, the weight of his presence.

It felt real. Too real. And that made me nervous.

After breakfast, I got dressed in faded, high-waisted jeans and a black off-shoulder crop top. Simple, but it hugged my curves just right.

As I walked through the school gates, boys greeted me with eager smiles. Girls stared daggers, their jealousy obvious.

I ignored them all.

My eyes were on my classroom—until I stopped short.

Alexander.

And Natalie.

They were standing just a few steps away.

Alexander’s expression froze when our eyes met. Natalie noticed instantly, her grip tightening possessively around his arm. But he didn’t react. He just stared at me like he was waiting—maybe hoping—to see pain in my eyes.

I gave him a blank look and moved to walk past.

But he caught my wrist.

“I’ll give you another chance,” he said, voice low. “To be my mate.”

I raised an eyebrow.

“No thanks.” I yanked my hand free.

Gasps erupted around us.

No one knew we were mates.

Until now.

The boys who’d been following me scattered like scared puppies when Alexander’s glare swept over them. They knew they stood no chance against their future Alpha.

“Why?” he asked, stepping closer. “You’re my mate.”

I shrugged. “And I have no interest in being yours.”

Natalie scoffed beside him, practically wrapping herself around his arm. “Please. He was just being generous. You're lucky he even acknowledged you.”

I turned to her with a smirk, “Is that why he had you draped all over him yesterday? Thought you were already playing Luna.”

Her smile twisted into something ugly.

“Of course I am,” she said sweetly. “He asked you to be a mate. I’m the Luna. There’s a difference, sweetheart.”

Then her voice sharpened like a dagger. “He just wanted to give you a shot because of that pretty face. But Luna? You? Please. Without that face, you’re nothing. Just the same ugly mutt you’ve always been.”

She poked my forehead with her finger—again and again.

I laughed.

A full, unhinged, madwoman kind of laugh.

“So you think I'm weak?” I echoed. “Have you ever seen me fight?”

She flinched, but masked it with a laugh. “Exactly. You’ve never fought anyone because you can’t. You're not even allowed to train with us. You smell like an omega—everyone knows it.”

She leaned closer, voice dripping venom. “You might smell stronger than most omegas, but that’s probably your only talent—seducing guys with your freakish scent.”

Alexander’s frown deepened, but he didn’t speak. Didn’t defend me.

Coward.

“Just accept it,” he said after a beat. “You’re not Luna material. You haven’t even shifted. That alone proves you’re weak. Embarrassing. You’d humiliate me—and the entire pack.”

I stared at my nails, utterly unbothered.

“You all love calling me weak,” I said softly. “How funny.”

Natalie stepped forward again. “You’re pathetic. Stop pretending you’re something you’re not. Know your place, or else—”

“Or else what?” I cut her off with a glare. “Tired of hearing you talk, Natalie. Why don’t you show me what you’ve got?”

“You little bitch!” she screamed, lunging for me. “I’ll beat you until you can’t recognize your own face!”

She clawed at my face, but I dodged easily, again and again.

She grew more furious with every failed attempt.

Then it hit me.

That presence.

The same one from last night.

Watching me.

The hair on my arms stood on end. My instincts screamed.

I hesitated—just a second too long.

Natalie’s kick landed square in my stomach, sending me flying backward a full meter. I hit the ground hard, gasping for air.

I scanned the crowd, trying to locate the eyes I felt on me.

Nothing.

Just the usual spectators—silent, stunned.

I didn’t see Natalie until she was right in front of me, grabbing my collar.

She slapped me hard across the face.

“This is what you get for acting like you’re better than me, you bitch!”

The sting snapped me back into focus.

Alexander did nothing. He just watched. His eyes darkened, but he didn’t move.

Natalie raised her hand again—but this time, I caught it.

My grip tightened around her fist.

She raised the other.

I moved faster.

My foot connected with her stomach—same spot she’d hit me. She flew back, crashing ten meters across the courtyard and landing in a heap, unconscious.

Gasps filled the air.

A beat of silence.

Then I looked up, brushing the hair from my face.

“Game’s over, baby,” I said with a slow, savage smirk. “Now, if you’ll excuse me…”

I walked past Alexander, who was frozen in place, stunned.

“Weak?” I tossed the word at him with a bitter laugh. “You sure about that?”

His expression twisted—part pride, part shame.

He lowered his gaze. Couldn't meet my eyes.

Good.

He should be ashamed.

He didn’t defend me. He stood there and let her hit me.

He doesn’t deserve me.

I walked away—head high, shoulders back.

Like a queen.

  • LOVE ME, HATE ME!   CHAPTER 61

I was standing facing Cedric naked with not a single piece of clothing covering my private parts since I tore my clothes when I shifted. I didn't bother covering myself since embarrassment and shame aren't important in this kind of situation, it is a matter of life and death after all. And besides, we're the only ones' left since everyone has run for their lives, and he's seen every inch of my body so it doesn't matter. "No, Cedric. Please let him go... Have you not killed enough?" I said. "No! I haven't killed enough! And of all I planned to kill, Alexander is on the top of the list. So don't expect me to let him go!'' He said and turned around in the direction where Alexander is located. "NO!!!" I held his arm tightly forcing him to stop as he was about to make his way to Alexander's room. He swung his arm that I am holding and I was again sent flying for a few meters away. "Ughhhh..." I groaned as I hit my back on a rock. Cedric imm

  • LOVE ME, HATE ME!   CHAPTER 60

I was standing a hundred meters away from Edward, Victor, and Alejandro. I could hear them talking, and based on their faces, I can tell they are scared to their bones. I looked at Cedric who is having fun watching the civilians and the warriors run for their lives. He's itching to attack them but he doesn't want to rush because he knows he'll win no matter what. Mom came up to me gasping. "Honey, your father... Have you seen your father?" She said in a panic. "What? No... I haven't seen him since the witches retreated." I said. My hands started to shake with the thought of my father dead. "No...NO!" I said in my head fighting my fears. "Don't worry, mom. I-I'll find him, then you both please go and hide." I said looking at my mother. And then Cedric chuckled. "Looking for him?" He said. I turned to look at him and my whole body froze. On his hand, he's holding my father who's badly hurt. "Apollo... Let

  • LOVE ME, HATE ME!   CHAPTER 59

The screams of agony and the cries of the warriors fighting for their lives have now subsided, only the shouts and smiles of victory remain. The queen has said that the beast will go rampage when the moon is on its peak. It's only a matter of a couple of hours till the moon rises to its peak and I couldn't help but shiver at the thought of what might come next. Will everyone dies just like the queen has foreseen? Or will I be able to stop the beast before he starts slaying every creature he sees? I stayed alone for some time thinking, until someone came to me. "It's you!" Said one of the warriors. I turned my gaze which was fixated to the moon to the warrior who has spoken to me. He was looking at me with pure admiration. "Me?" I said looking at the warrior. "Yes, you!" He exclaimed with a big smile on his face. "What about me?" I asked with a frown. I know the warrior meant no harm, but I feel uncomfortable by the way he is st

  • LOVE ME, HATE ME!   CHAPTER 58

VANESSA'S POV I ran quickly outside to see what was going on. The palace was huge but I could see from afar, people are shouting, dying, fighting, and smoke is everywhere on the palace walls. The Lycan King, his Queen, Massimo, Alejandro, and Diego watch the fight like a fun show. Through the telescope, they can see that the witches don't stand a chance against their warriors. I could see some of the witches flying with their broom just like what you see on television, Victor and his people might think those witches won't be able to cross the walls, but I can tell they'll be able to enter in no time. Still, I was disheartened by the sight of people screaming in agony. "How could they laugh when people are dying?" I said in disgust. NARRATORS' POV They kept on laughing until Victor zoomed in his telescope. He noticed that the witches fighting on the palace walls are so young. They looked like they're between the ages of twelve and seventeen.

  • LOVE ME, HATE ME!   CHAPTER 57

CEDRIC'S POV After the whole week of nonstop wild sex with Vanessa, the queen asked me to go see her immediately. She didn't tell me the reason but I guess I'll meet her anyway. Vanessa was dead asleep but I don't know how long I'll be gone for and I still can't trust her. Somewhere deep in my heart, I know she'll choose to leave me if she is to be given a chance. Carefully, I lifted her in a bridal style without waking her. I moved her to the room that is covered with harmful metals just to make sure she wouldn't be able to escape even if she tries to. Before I leave the mansion, I made sure to ask Carla not to let anyone on the second floor where Vanessa was being locked up. But I wasn't expecting that when I come home, Vanessa's long gone. I angrily asked my servants where she went, but they had no idea that she has escaped. But they saw Angela lying on top of the staircase to the second floor, lifeless. And that's when I knew, it's her, the one who's let
