Jett nodded once. "Alright, I'll send him in." He stepped out of the study for only a moment.

“Who is it?” Elvis asked, his voice tight with worry. “Do you think it might be someone from Jason?”

Before Caspian could reply, the door swung open again. Jett stepped back inside, followed by a man who moved with an easy confidence that felt alien in the suffocated room.

The visitor, Adrian Kincaid, took in the scene: Caspian’s rigid posture, Elvis’s broken form. His cold, intelligent eyes missed nothing.

“Who the hell is this?” Elvis demanded, looking at his brother.

Jett simply shrugged. "I don't know," he admitted. "He just said you'd want to see him."

Kincaid ignored Elvis, his focus entirely on the patriarch. “Mr. Montgomery,” he said, his voice smooth “I believe we have a mutual interest in a certain… problem.”

Caspian didn’t stand, didn’t offer a handshake. “I don’t know you. And I don’t trust men I don’t know. So, let’s skip the pleasantries. Who are you, and what do you want?”

He paused, his smile gone, replaced by an icy calm. "I handed it all over to the authorities…. they were very interested in your plans. Especially your plans for me." "You... you bastard..." Charlie stammered, backing away. "Your plan is foiled, Charlie," Jason said, his voice flat. "Your revenge is over, Caspian. And Elvis... your time is up." As if cued by his words, the main doors to the penthouse burst open. Federal agents in tactical vests flooded the room, weapons raised. "Caspian Montgomery! Jett Montgomery! Elvis Montgomery! Charlie Smith!" the lead agent barked. "You're all under arrest.” Charlie just slumped into a chair, his face ashen, as the agents moved in to cuff them. The reign of the Montgomerys, and Charlie's pathetic attempt at betrayal, was over. The elevator doors slid open with a soft chime, revealing the magnificent, three-story lobby of Primus Corporation. Caspian, Jett, and Charlie were marched out in handcuffs, their expensive suits looking rumpled and

Six days later, the penthouse suite at Primus Corporation felt less like a seat of power and more like a high-end holding cell. The air was filled with impatience and the lingering smell of old cigars.Caspian Montgomery stared out the window, his reflection a stern mask. Jett listlessly swirled the ice in an empty brandy glass. Elvis sat in his wheelchair, his mangled hands uselessly in his lap.But it was Charlie who was the live wire. He was pacing the room, his suit rumpled, his face red with a desperate, manic energy."Where the hell is Kincaid?" Charlie finally snapped, spinning to face the room. "He said today! He said Mr. K would finally give us the next step." He stalked toward the window, his voice vibrating with a new, more personal rage. "I want that bastard Wolfe out. Now."Elvis let out a dry, nasal laugh from his chair. "What's the rush, Smith? Last I checked, you were just the inside man. Now you're giving orders?""What's changed?" Charlie's voice cracked, and he spun

Jason attacked again, feinting left before striking right. Kairos dodged, but not quickly enough, Jason's fist connected with his ribs.Kairos coughed, wincing, then came at Jason with renewed fury. His strikes were precise and devastating, each one carrying decades of skill and rage."I have to admit," Kairos said as they exchanged blows, "the thought of having to kill you after you'd been such an excellent servant wasn't pleasant. But now?" He landed a vicious strike to Jason's shoulder. "After what you did? You'll die painfully."Jason was losing ground. Every block sent shockwaves of pain through his arms. Every dodge came a fraction of a second slower than the last."Before sending you off on your little mission," Kairos continued, pressing his advantage, "I had everything planned. You bring me the Obsidian Dagger, and then you either stick around and I kill you before you learn about who you really are, or you listen to me and retire quietly, try to settle down with your fian

Jason moved through the night with singular focus, the address from the video burned into his mind. The industrial complex loomed ahead. It was a skeletal structure of rusted metal and shattered windows, abandoned years ago when the factories moved overseas. He arrived on top of the building, his footsteps echoing across the concrete rooftop. The wind whipped around him, carrying the scent of rust and decay.Kairos stood near the edge, one hand gripping Celia's arm. She was trembling, her eyes wide with terror, tears streaming down her face. A gag covered her mouth, and her hands were bound in front of her.Jason's teeth clenched at the sight."Hi, son," Kairos said pleasantly, as if they were meeting for coffee. "Disappointed to see me here?""I'm not your son," Jason said, his voice hard as steel. "Now let her go.""Sure," Kairos replied with a cold smile. He proceeded to drag Celia toward the edge of the building, dangling her over the void. “Let her go you said?”Celia's scream wa

"Brandon, you just told me you're the sole survivor of a murdered family, raised by your family's killer, and you're now a fugitive from some secret organization." She shook her head, but her grip on his hand never loosened. "Time isn't going to make that any less insane. But it also doesn't change how I feel about you.”Vanessa studied his face in the dim light of the car, noticing the shadows under his eyes, the tension in his jaw. "Are you hungry?" she asked softly. "You've been on the move constantly these last few days. Did you even sleep?"Jason was quiet for a moment, then shook his head. "Not really. Maybe a few hours here and there.""When did you last eat?"He thought about it. "Yesterday morning, I think."Vanessa's expression shifted to concern mixed with exasperation. "Come on," she said, opening the car door. "You need food and rest, not sitting in a car telling tragic stories on an empty stomach."Despite everything, Jason felt a small smile tug at his lips. "I could ea

Meanwhile, Jason was just leaving Selene's home. She had agreed to sell him the mansion, which was a good thing. It was the first step he was going to take in getting back everything the Caelthorns once earned. He got inside the car and drove to the smith villa to meet with Vanessa. The sum had already set a while ago, and the evening sky over Velmora City was beginning to get dark. Jason could imagine that by now, that liar, Kairos must be locked up already. And he was happy with that. He hated Kairos more than anyone else right now, and Jason's only regret was that he didn't get the chance to deliver justice himself. If he did, Kairos would never see the day of light again. Not long after, Jason pulled Vanessa's Benz into the sweeping circular driveway of the Smith Villa. As the engine went quiet, the headlights of another car, a stately, dark town car swung into the drive right behind him.Jason got out, and Vanessa and Lady Smith emerged from the other vehicle, their expression
