Arthur pov

Two days had passed had passed since Betty disappeared, and the pack still buzzed with whispers. Every time I walked through the halls, I caught fragments of conversations that stopped the moment I entered. Everyone was talking about her.... about us.

Or rather, about how I’d lost her.

By the third morning, I couldn’t take it anymore. I stood in the training yard, fists pounding into the sandbag until my knuckles bled, when my mother, Luna Ria, appeared at the edge of the ring. Her elegant gown flowed with the wind, her golden hair pinned neatly, but her expression was anything but calm.

“Arthur.”

I froze mid-swing. Her voice carried the kind of authority that could silence a room.

“Mother,” I greeted, wiping sweat from my brow.

She stepped closer, her eyes sharp. “Your father wants to see you. Now.”

That tone meant there was no arguing.

I followed her to the main hall, where Alpha Ray, my father .. sat behind his desk, radiating dominance and disappointmen
