Chapter Thirty-three

After the drama of threatening him with stabbing me, Hayden and Joe had stopped fighting.

Hayden ordered Lucien and Jax to take me in by any means, then asked the rest to come with him.

"Mom, open this juice for me," my daughter said, bringing me back to reality.

"Of course, baby," I said, opening the juice for her.

"Take small sips, Elijah, so you won't choke."

"Okay, Mommy," he answered.

The twins were munching on the snacks, that Hayden got and was so happy about them.

"Mom, can I have another one?"

"No, Elijah, you already took two cans; your stomach will hurt if you take more than two."

He nodded and threw his cookie into his mouth.

I looked at the clock again, and it was almost seven, yet he was not back.

I had bathed the children, showered them too, then gave them dinner and these snacks, but he was not yet back.

I have tried to go look for him, but Lucien would not let me leave. He said that Hayden had given him clear instructions not to let me out.
