There was tense silence between me and Darius when we stepped into his bedroom, finally alone enough to talk without the fear of being overheard.“I know what you’re probably thinking right now,” I started as I raised both of my hands in the air in surrender. “It’s only fair that you would think it’s my fault all of this is happening, but you should know that I’m just as confused about this.”“I know that much, Zara. “You’ve unlocked your powers,” Flora said, a look of mixed awe and horror sitting on her face as I looked around in confusion.“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked as I turned to Darius and found him looking at me as if I was some sort of terrifying object that he didn’t want to touch.“It was never supposed to be unlocked this early.
